Safest travel to Ceasre [Spoilers]

Post » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:47 am

[Spoiler]
I just got to Benny in his hotel place, and we talked for a minute, and I chose not to kill him because he has too many gaurds around him. So he said we can talk in his Presidential Suite. I got up their and looked around for "Clues" like the quest asked. And I talked to the Intercom, and he said he was going "Out of town". I talked to "Yes Man" and I chose not to kill him either. And I have a choice of getting the "Platinum Chip" to Mr.House, Killing/Disabling Mr.House, or go to the south eastern part of the map where Ceasre is. And I get to the "Hidden Valley". And I'm only lvl 8, because I skipped the quest "They went that-a-way". And went STRAIGHT to Freeside. So I have decent weapons, 2 stimpacks,& 1 healing powder. Besides going through Hidden Valley, what is the safest way to get there? I don't care how long it is, I just want to get to Benny and Ceasre. :banghead:

Get a companion and perhaps level up on some geckos around the Khans or the Fiends and then you will be able to one hit most things.

I don't usually think about it that way.
Not exactly many dangerous things on the way perhaps a few Czardous (not sure on spelling)

I think there's only one way to get there, and that's by going to Cottonwood Cove and talking to the Ferryman. Don't worry, the won't be hostile unless you start shooting.

EDIT: If you decide to kill Caesar or free Benny or kill Benny, I would be at least level 15 or so, because all those Zap Gloves really 'knock' you out. Har-Har-Har.

The only things i've faced on the way there are bark scorpions, rad scorpions, and (Main Problem) Giant Rad Scorpions.
And I don't know why they're such a problem in NV. In F3, I would always kill those things so easily :gun: :bonk:

The place you need is Cottonwood Cove.
Take the Novac highway south until you get to a left turn down near the bottom of the map. You'll run into some vipers, maybe a molerat or two, but you are relatively safe and you can resupply in Novac.
Now you have to head east, but Camp Searchlight is in the way. This is a town full of Ghouls and radiation. You'll want to circle around to the north, but watch out for stray ghouls. If you kill any be sure to collect dogtags.
On the east side of searchlight you'll pick up the road to Cottonwood Cove again.
You should make it fairly easily but you might want to stock up on healing items. The ghouls are fast.

You can still use the pontoon to travel to the camp after killing all the legion, be warned though, you respawn at the gate with a few legion guards ready to chop you up :)

I would do some more quest (at least wait untill lvl 15) then go to Cottonwood cove.
Also Freeside is a great place to find quest.

I thought I was the only one to fall for Benny's trick.

Damage Threshold is the reason why you can't kill a Giant Rad Scorpion with a 9 mm Pistol.

What I would do is level up and do some quests, Caesar's not going anywhere and neither is Benny so Level Up get some better weapons. I would suggest the areas around Novac, Camp McCarren and Freeside as places that you could get quests, weapons, or anythin else you need. Don't do the quest Debt Collector it could possibly mess up your save file just to warn you if you go down that road. If you accepted the quest its not a big deal just don't finish it.

I am in the same boat I have been in 4 times before. Benny is held up at the Fort and I am public ememy number 1 to the Legion. I honestly can't see a way to get Benny and the chip without killing them all. I tried and tried but I keep on geting killed with Boone and Ed-E with me. Anybiody know a trick to getting over this hump?

Stop rushing thru the game!!!! :bolt:
Leave the mainquet and just take a walk around, talk to people, explore a little. locate main settlements traders etc.
I will not help someone fasttrack FONV. :nono:

Well, you do know Boone HATES the Legion? And the Legion hates him back? Try dumping Boone, replacing him with another companion.
If that doesnt work, skip the chip. Try talking to the NCR, doing missions for them especialy (?) Ambassador Crocker.
And next time you play, ignore Boone, he is troble, he even says so.

That's what I am thinking. Dumping Boone for Lilly. Just made level 23 so I will level up some more and go in and kill them all I guess.

No, NO, NO!!!

You simply must jam as much of this game down your throat as you possibly can in 6-8 hours. That's the only way for 1337 players to get any sort of challenge. Nevermind the exploration that carried over from FO3, that stuff is for pansies, and while there is less of it in NV (that isn't tied to a quest), it still makes it hard to avoid. All you need is the "phat skillz" perk, and you will be well on your way.

The only downside to that (unglitched/unbugged) is that you pretty much ignore the vast majority of the game... Hey duder, it's your $60 bucks....
