[RELz] Sage's Skyrim Armory 2.0

Post » Fri Oct 01, 2010 12:57 pm

Introduction:
Sunday, November 1st
So... here we are. I've finally finished SSA 2. It certainly took a while, didn't it? Ah well, at least it's done now. It has been an interesting time making this mod happen, I hope you'll enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed modding it. Extra kudos to Edoc'sil for coming up with new meshes for the Trollbone Armor and Weapon Sets.

Sage's Skyrim Armory (SSA), Version 2.0

VI. Armor & Weapon Values
VII. Mod Compatibility
VIII. Changelog
IX. Credits & Copyrights

I. Description:

Thanks for downloading Skyrim Armory, and hopefully you'll enjoy playing it. This is the 2nd edition of the mod, also known as the Frozen Platinum Edition.

A new blacksmith/tailor shoppe called Red Wyrm has opened just outside Bruma, selling imported Skyrim armor, clothing and weapons. Red Wyrm is open from 6AM to 7PM.

Magda & Brask Wulfheim own the Red Wyrm, they sell clothing and armor/weapons respectively. Both of them have 1500 barter gold. Brask also offers repair services.

Skyrim Armory 2 adds +75 new armor, weapon and clothing items into Oblivion, including a truly unique set of Trollbone Armor and Weapons.

II. Features:

- Skyrim themed weapon sets
- Skyrim themed armor sets
- Skyrim themed clothing
- New icons for all items
- Custom textures
- Custom meshes
- Custom store

III. Installing:

Unpack the SSA.esp and the Meshes and Textures folders to the Oblivion\Data folder in your Oblivion installation directory, default:

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data

Then load up Oblivion, select data files and enable SSA.esp and you're done!

IV. Uninstalling:

Uninstalling is very simple and takes only a few steps to complete:

1. Deactivate SSA.esp in the launcher\data files.
2. Go to Data\Textures: remove the folder labeled SSA.
3. Go to Data\Textures\Menus\Icons: remove the folder labeled SSAIcons.
4. Go to Data\Meshes: remove the folder labeled SSA.

And you're done!

V. Armor & Weapon Stats:

How to read the stats:

Example I:
A value of AR: 140% Leather means that the armor set has 40% more AR than the leather armor set. The percentual increase is applied to each individual armor piece.

Example II:
A value of HEALTH: 90% Dwemer means that the armor set has 10% less item health points than the Dwemer armor set. The percentual decrease is applied to each individual armor piece.

Why not simply write the actual values? It's easy to write the numbers, but they don't mean anything to most players without the game being open. This way you have a quick reference point. I've used plain numbers for the clothing though, since they don't have AR or HEALTH. The REACH & SPEED stats of the weapons remain the norm for the specific weapon types as per vanilla Oblivion.

Wolf Armor = AR: 120% Leather WEIGHT: 100% Leather HEALTH: 100% Leather
Bear Armor = AR: 140% Leather WEIGHT: 150% Leather HEALTH: 120% Leather
Deerskin Armor = AR: 100% Leather WEIGHT: 100% Leather HEALTH: 100% Leather

Trollbone Armor = AR: 100% Iron WEIGHT: 50% Iron HEALTH: 80% Iron
Nordic Mail Armor = AR: 100% Dwemer WEIGHT: 90% Dwemer HEALTH: 90% Dwemer
Stahlrim Armor = AR: 100% Ebony WEIGHT: 50% Ebony HEALTH: 80% Ebony

Trollbone Weapons = DMG: 90% Iron WEIGHT: 50% Iron HEALTH: 70% Iron
Nordic Silver Weapons = DMG: 120% Silver WEIGHT: 100% Silver HEALTH: 150% Silver
Stahlrim Weapons = DMG: 100% Ebony WEIGHT: 50% Ebony HEALTH: 70% Ebony

Wolf Legion Robe = WEIGHT: 3.00
Wolf Legion Hood = WEIGHT: 1.00

I'm still sorting out the Planet Elder Scrolls entry, but I'm pretty sure I can get the file up there tomorrow. Until then, just use the Nexus mirror.

Still no response from the PES folks, so the file update there is definitely postponed until tomorrow at the very least.

Well, the file has now been uploaded to the PES FTP site, so it's only a matter of time before they link it to the mod entry. I'll post a notice here when they do.

Any chance of a version which distributes these through the leveled lists? The armors are beautiful, but I can only wear one suit at once, so I need random bandits to make up for my own shortcomings :P (that could be the Lukewarm Diamond-Studded Steel-Painted-Purple in Like New Condition Edition :D)

Yeah, that would be awesome! Maybe ask the FCOM team to include your armors?

Well, dev_akm is planning to add OOO/FCOM support for SSA2 after FCOM 1.0 is released, so I'll leave that up to him. If he finds the time, you'll see leveled lists. :)

Well, the launch seems to have gone smoothly enough, but if you find any bugs in the mod, please post them here. Oh, and I wouldn't mind it either if you took the time to rate/endorse the mod after playing it, provided that you liked it. :)

The shield looks truly magical in-game:

My pictures makes no justice to the way it looks in-game. I encourage peeps to check it out for yourself.

Thanks for the high praise, Mercer. The wolf figure on the sword handle really turned out great, it's fascinating how much you can do with just textures, I mean it does look a bit like mesh modification doesn't it? :)

I'm kind of disappointed with how little interest this mod sparked - very disproportional to the amount of work I put into it. I doubt we'll see SSA3; this is the end of the line for me.

Don't pull the negativity on us. Your mod looks fantastic and it works perfectly. I think we all just don't have anything to comment on the mod itself. We could go and demand stuff but you made a really great mod and we all like it very much. These threads are mostly for getting help and feed back on stuff you try to create. The community is not really into giving modders a positive feedback all the time.

I think one reason peeps are not posting is because version 2 is bug-free. It has been long underway and it shows that it wasn't rushed.
People should really check out this mod though. The screens don't show the details half as good as it does in-game.

More screens, since I'm trying out different sets of clothes and armor for the perfect mix :) :
