[RELz] Sage's Skyrim Armory 1.0

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:23 am

So very true. All I've succeeded in doing with it was modifying pieces of architecture for Morrowind, and that was by simply moving, cutting and pasting vertices. Changing or making texture maps, creating new shapes, rigging anything, all these things are far, far above my head...

And if you have to learn the complete process in the middle of making something, the release is going to be waaay later than initially thought. In my case it would have taken at least a few months to actually learn to make decent models... and probably a year until I'd have finished the mod.

:brokencomputer: THat is the best way to describe it....all the times I tried making the bearskin armor from Morrowind into Oblivion (for personal use) in blender I have wanted to do that. I once spent 3 hours slowly and methodically doing what a tutorial said on how to do it only to have blender crash while saving the work after coloring the weights! I often wonder if they named the program after the sensation of using it feeling akin to placing one's testicles in it's namesake.

@ Wulfgar_White_Eye
Heh, I have to agree with that. Just the interface of the software is enough to cause me to doubt if I'm doing anything right.

In response to the controversy surrounding this mod's release: I can only say it wasn't what I was expecting at all.

I couldn't possibly imagine trollers picking up this mod as their target, but I guess I was wrong. There's been some trouble over at TES Nexus so far, with ranting users who don't know how to rate mods; or don't remember that they accepted the user agreement when joining the Nexus.

Bottom line is: it's easy to be a critic when you don't have to mod anything yourself. If you want to rate a mod, rate it based on how the included content performs in regard to the mod's own description, not based on what the mod doesn't include or what you think it shouldn't include.

Edit: Typo

Don't you just love the comments you get at TES Nexus? I used 2 months on making this mod, and the second comment on Nexus was this:
So I ask myself, why do I even bother?

You bother because you care for the many that actually think this is awesome. When clicking on the screenshots I was praying to myself that they look like their originals and by god they do.

Do not let jealous morons get to you because that is all it is, jealously that they can't do what you have done.

Anyway this is an instant download, I think I will be looking more into your work ;)

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. Hope you like the armors in game.

I have very little patience for dummies and noobs who underrate my own mods for stupid reasons.

I can't remember the times someone rated a 1 because:

a. LOLOLOLOL my wurwolf looks like 1 big diamind
b. omg omg i cant beome lich this modz sux
c. how do i install it lol
d. 7zip sux because i can't be bothered 2 downloadz it lol

Best thing to do is send a report to Lord Devil.

In fact any future mods I make from now on will have an EULA that explicitly says "no underrating mods for stupid reasons".

I like the robes, the casual clothes and the fur armors, but the Stalhrim, Nordic Mail and Trollbone really need their own meshes.

Did you even read http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?s=&showtopic=820611&view=findpost&p=11934530 post? It would have taken me a long time to create all new meshes for them.

And if you had read the ReadMe, you'd know that Stahlrim armor does have its own meshes, made by Ghogiel.

Find out the facts before you post in the future.

Sage, dontchu listen to silly puberty stricken children. :D

Thank you sooooo very much for taking the days, hours, and weeks to create, release, and update this gem.

This right here?

Single handedly forced me to reinstall Oblivion.

Mhmmm... tasty. This, + Thorgier's weaponry = Awesomeness.

Brilliant armor pieces, Sage! I was wondering if you could add the helms and boots set up as clothing instead of armor (so there would be 2 versions of each helm and boots).
The reason for this simple request is that often I play as a unarmored warrior or mage and your helms and boots would make excellent clothing pieces. :)
(When using armor pieces you always have to carry around repair hammers and if you enchant them you cannot repair them unless you're good at the Armorer Skill...hence the need for clothing.)

I feel like they work best as armors, but if you want to do that for your personal installation, it's pretty easy to do in the CS.

Apparently the first patch covered all the bugs there were in the mod (1).

If anyone finds more of them, make a post here and I'll see what can be done.
