Sanctuary Keeper Part I

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:09 am

Verus peered at the man for a short while longer before shaking his head. "No, there's no need to attract any more attention than is necessary. It's most likely just some traveler that had too much to drink, and even if he's more than that, he's surrounded by three of our brothers and sisters. What could he possibly do," he said.

With that done, he set off towards the Newlands Lodge. While he was suspicious about the drunk, such a large group out in the open in the middle of the night would most likely attract the guards, and he wanted nothing to do with that. Then again, if he is one of the people that attacked the Sanctuary and he plans to kill them, it would be a chance to see Parthia and the others in action...

He paused mid-stride at this and stood there for a moment in thought before shaking his head again and continuing towards the inn. No, I have a mission and for each second I waste on trivial matters, the target may be slipping farther away. The thought that the others of the Brotherhood couldn't handle one apparently drunken idiot never even occurred to him.

Darus heard someone say that everyone should start searching for the arsonist. It sounded like the most reasonable plan to him, so he exited the Undercroft stopping by the stairs and began thinking of where to go. If the arsonist were inside the sanctuary they obviously knew a thing or two about the Dark Brotherhood. Maybe they even knew where they would meet in these dire times. Maybe they were in the Undercroft. Darus thought. He hated hunches. He wanted facts, he wanted information. Darus wanted to know what he was to expect, so he could plan and execute his plan without hesitation. He wouldn't hesitate now as he stormed back in the Undercroft. Darus searched intently through the stone coffins, finding nothing. Where could he be? Darus questioned himself, again leaving the Undercroft and the Chapel. The streets were empty except for a few members that had just left. Darus noted them and hurried in the opposite direction. Darus looked for an ally, a dark spot for him to hide in. Darus found an ally between two houses, and he watched under his hood for anything odd.

Velandris stood there in thought. The man was suspicious to him, although everything right now was suspicious, his only home was burnt to the ground and it was his sarrow and anger that had thrown itself at him. He stood there for a few seconds grimmly looking at the man. He soon snapped back to the situation and then sighed. "Im sorry, it's been a long day." He bowed his head but kept his attention on the man. "You should look into another line of work. Plenty of work in the big city I hear." He walked passed them and tossed a coin at the man and walked back to the chapel his right hand fixed to his dagger. He turned the corner into the graveyard and stopepd pushing himself againstthe wall and peering his head and watched the drunk. He was to follow them and make sure nothing happened.

Drynos, kept pace with Verus and hadnt noticed he'd stopped. He turned around to see him in mid-thought. He waited a couple of seconds and Verus had started heading in the direction of the Lodge again. Drynos followed suit and in a matter of minutes they were in front of the Lodge that welcomed them in. He stepped inside. It was hot and stuffy. Much unlike outside. The warmth and hit him in the face and he smiled, glad to be out of the biting cold. A smell of beer lingered on the air and merrymaking was in progress from most of the regulars that enjoy their ale. He whispered to Verus under the shouting and singing. " You can interrogate whoever you want. I'll stand guard."

When Verus stepped inside the lodge, he barely registered what Drynos had said. Yes, this place was definitely too noisy, too chaotic for him. He quickly regained his composure though and nodded to his companion before removing the wine bottle filled with water from his satchel. With no label on it, the colored bottle looked just like the bottles of beer the current occupants of the inn were drinking. He slowly walked through the crowd, staggering here and there to make it look as if he was as drunk as those surrounding him. No one paid him any notice.

He quickly found his way through the crowd to an isolated table where two Dunmers and an Orc were sitting, and bottles were already piled on the table. They were quite drunk, and any other time, Verus would have stayed as far away from them as possible, but tonight he would simply have to bear their company.

He sat in an empty chair and they looked curiously at him before returning to whatever conversation they had been having earlier. It seemed to be about one of the waitresses. Verus sneered in disgust but said nothing, taking a large drink from his bottle. He then began to speak in a slurred tone, making him sound exactly like the fools he was talking to. "Did you guys see that fire earlier. It was crazy. Those stupid guards actually think it was an accident! Can you believe that? There's no way some kids set a fire like that. Must have been a bunch of people with torches, or maybe a really strong mage. You guys wouldn't happen to see anyone around here like that would you?"

The two Dunmer's apparently ignored him, though the Orc turned to him and blinked. "Nahhh, the only weird looking person around here was that crazy Dunmer. Said he was a tea merchant. A tea merchant! What kind of job is that? And he was dressed all strange too. Must have been from Morrowind. All them Dunmer down there are crazy I tell ya."

One of the Dunmer's then turned to listen to the Orc speak. "Hey, I'm from Morrowind and I take offense to that. I'm not dressed all crazy like now am I? But I saw that guy too, and he was dressed weird. Must have been from one of the Great Houses, that's my bet. Hey, what are you drinking there?"

Verus was momentarily taken aback by this, not expecting them to ask him any questions, and certainly not about what he was drinking. "Uh, um, it's-"

But he never had a chance to respond. The Dunmer snatched the bottle from his hand and took a drink from it. Much to Verus's surprise he exclaimed, "Hey, this stuff is good, you guys have to taste this."

Verus just shook his head, rose from the seat, and walked away, muttering under his breath about why he would even talk to such idiots.

Ra took the bread from the woman with a simple nod as a thank you. He didn't have very much intention to eat the bread. Right now it was impossible to tell who to trust, even Tong members, until they got Serosi and got out. Just as they began to leave someone approached them to tell them about the curfew. Ra wasn't completely sure who this person was but his face did look familiar. At almost the same exact time another Tong member came bounding through the Inn towards Oglind. This made Ra a little angry, drawing attention to themselves was the last thing they needed right now. As Oglind spoke to Figwit, Ra turned back to Fanier.

This person obviously wasn't a guard so Ra didn't mind being as open around him, "If there is a guard here that could catch me, I would serve out that prison sentence with a smile."

"If you are feeling so agile how about a rooftop stroll?" Oglind spoke in a quiet tone. It would give them a better perspective on their surroundings and rather interesting looking people were starting to come toward the Lodge. Oglind could use this as a chance to infiltrate the lodge under a different appearence. He looked upward toward the lodge which had only two levels to it. Easy enough to climb, even for the aging Ra. "So what do you say? We'll have to go up from around back however."

Ra turned his head to the side a little as Oglind spoke. Then he re-examined the lodge, glancing at both stories of the building. Back in his day he probably could have scaled White-Gold Tower in the Imperial City if he really put his mind to it; but now a simple two-story building, despite being easy to climb, seemed harder than it should. For the last couple of years he had mostly taken contracts for the Tong where all he had to do was act and left all the acrobatic, jumpy, springy stuff to his apprentice. His apprentice wasn't here, yet, though so it looked like he had to do it.

"Well, I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm still good enough... Let's go." Ra said with a confident nod.

ooc: sorry for the [censored] post, but I could not find a better way to catch up with everybody.
IC:
Ticedo watched as Parthia helped her fallen partener and hobbled in her general direction,
"Hello" he shouted sounding cheery despite that days happenings and the fact she was helping a collapsed Argonian, he had a tendancy to be happy at inoprotune times.

(Edited a fix. Tadeesa isn't a man :x but a her reptile thingy)

IC:

"Don't just stand there looking stupid! Help!" Parthia snapped. The stress had been piling up and she was typically rather nervous in these sort of situations. What happened to Tadeesa. One moment...and then the next. She bit her lip in frustration and tensed up every muscle in her body as she often did when pressed. The magic paths through her bodies closed off. Quickly she realized she could not heal anybody in this state, took a few long breaths and continued with the healing spell.

Tadeesa panted heavily, filled with fright after her short bit of unconciousness. Luckily, the healing spell Parthia had cast on her worked well, as Tadeesa was slowly gaining back her strength. Tadeesa sat up to see the drunkard now talking to an Imperial and using his charm on him, too. Tadeesa didn't care if someone saw her, she was going to gut his throat right in the streets after what he made her go through.

Oglind's eyes shifted a bit and and quickly vanished between the Newlands Lodge and another building. He looked back at Ra who seemed to have followed, though a bit slower. He then kicked off of the Lodge and onto the wall following another kick sending him up to the 2nd level. There he grasped the ledge just below one of the windows and then tensed up his stomach and arms pulling himself up further. Oglind's head poked up rather slowly, he didn't want to make any quick movements to give himself away. What he saw almost caused him to fall backward.

A woman sat at the edge of her bed with her exposed back toward the window. Her shorter dark hair which she was combing almost reached to her shoulder blades. Oglind took the care he needed to be especially quiet as he reached up to grab at a section of the wall that stuck out above the window, placed a foot at the bottom of the window and kicked off sending himself grasping the edge of the roof. Afterwards his hands held firmly to the edge of the roof as his legs acted as a balancing anchor.

"Damn Cheydinhal architecture." Oglind complained under his breath. The buildings in Cheydinhal tended to have rather sharp rooves. He bared the discomfort and mimiced the previous movement landing himself atop. He leaned against the roof and placed his heels against the edge of the roof maintaining a stable position.

As Parthia saw Tadeesa wake up, she stood up and helped out her sister. She couldn't tell what Argonians' face expressions were but something about Tadeesa looked, or at least felt "angry." Was she going to fight? Parthia decided to help out if she did, she readied herself for a fight keeping her mind on her elven short blade and dagger. Perhaps backing off and helping with a bow would be better. She wasn't sure, she hadn't really fought head on from the start before. Typically it was from the side or behind depending on how the opertunity gave itself.

Darus watched from the ally when he heard something down the street. He poked his head out peering down the street. He saw Parthia and an Argonian on the ground with a scowl on her face. The Argonian seemed to be staring intently on a drunkard talking to an imperial. Darus recognized the Argonian from the Chapel. They are both from the Brotherhood. Darus thought. Darus was expecting the pair to attack the Imperial, so he began to creep down the street keeping his hand close to his throwing knives. Darus looked around trying to figure the time. He though it was getting brighter but his vision might still be off put by the dark ally. Darus wanted some of the action if they were going to jump the drunk. He hadn't gotten a contract lately. Darus woke himself from his aimless thoughts and concentrated on the drunk, waiting for a move from anyone.

As the Kajiit turned to talk to the Dunmer across from him, Fanier finally got a look at his face in the light. His face looked familiar to Fanier, he knew he had seen it somewhere before, but he couldn't quite put a finger on it. When the Dunmer asked the Kajiit to a "rooftop stroll," he realized who they were. "Ahh, good to know there's more of us out here," he said to the Kajiit. "Name's Fanier, by the way," he held out his hand for a shake. "Have we met before?"

Ra shook Fanier's hand with one large, white, paw. He was a little more than relieved to know he was a Tong member as well, "Fanier, the name is familiar as well as the face. Most call me Ra however." He glanced over to Oglind who began to leave, "We'll, head up top and do some spotting, keep your claws ready though... I doubt it will be long before the Brotherhood makes a move." With that he turned and followed Oglind.

Ra quietly followed Oglind, though he was a bit slower, swaying and staggering as he followed him. As soon as they were in the alley between the two buildings Ra cut the act and ripped off the ragged and holey clothes to reveal a set of stark black, skin-tight clothing. He glanced back and forth at both entrances into the alley they were occupying as Oglind ascended the building. When Ra no longer heard the soft sound of Oglind climbing the building he got ready to climb it himself. Then after a stretch of his back, and the popping of his bones as he did so, he began to climb.

With a lack of style that he once possessed at a young age, Ra ran at the alley wall opposite of the lodge. With two clean steps he seemed to defy gravity, running up the side of the wall. On the second step up the wall he pushed off hard with his left leg, twisting in the air to grab the ledge of the window on the opposite building's wall. He tightened all the muscles in his upper body to slowly pull himself up and peek in the window to make sure no one was watching. Inside the room he could see an obviously young woman combing her hair with her clotheless back facing her. Not really thinking about the fact that she didn't have a shirt on, only that she wasn't looking. He quickly grabbed the ledge that hung above the window as well as below and pulled himself up; then used the ledge he was no standing on to launch him forward to grab the roof-top. With the agility of a young man he quickly pulled himself onto the pointed roof.

He ran a hand down his black clothing to smooth it out before speaking, "Well... Let's hope we only have to do that once tonight." Ra said, breathing heavily.

Acheron stopped at the location of where the Argonian had collapsed. Parthia was kneeling on the ground where she was, a light blue glow emanating from her fingertips. Two drunkards stood there and Acheron couldn't help but think that they were behind it. "Is there a problem, gentlemen?" Acheron asked, feeling as though they weren't what they appeared. He looked down at Parthia, the spell steadily moving from her hands.

Ticedo hobbled over to where the argonian had fallen and offered the end of his cane to help him rise, leaning over was not one of his strengths.
"What happened" he asked speaking as a parent would to a hurt child. All the while he kept his other hand on his thigh tryin to compensate some weight. He would look like a fool and not be of any assistance at all if he fell down himself.

With the agility of a young man he quickly pulled himself onto the pointed roof.

He ran a hand down his black clothing to smooth it out before speaking, "Well... Let's hope we only have to do that once tonight." Ra said, breathing heavily.

"You know...I have a feeling we will again." Oglind smirked at Ra as he leaned his full weight against the roof. "Mind the entrence and if you see someone leaving with that lovely girl in there follow them." He handed Ra his bonemold staff, and his chittin shortsword, though he kept his throwing knives.

His fingers picked at the edge grasping a piece of material from the building that had been loose. He held it in his hand and leaned toward the side turning until his stomach was against the roof with his feet elevated to where his head once was. Olgind grasped onto the edge of the roof pushing making sure he didn't slide off. He bent his elbows so that his head hung off the edge allowing himself to peer into the window. Inside he saw the girl once again. Upon closer inspection she seemed to be Imperial, dark hair, deep brown eyes and an olive complexion typical of the Imperial race who had not much mingled with the northern barbarians. Probably a Nibenese or even a local of the Imperial City itself. She didn't seem any older then nineteen or twenty and glowed of vibrant youth. She seemed to be wearing only a white skirt that reached down to her ankles. It seemed like she was getting ready for bed as she paced from the closet to get a pillow.

"Perfect, just what I needed." He said to himself as he took the bit of material he had taken off the roof and hit it against the window. Her being undressed made the act Oglind had in mind all the more easy. Though he wished he could have used some sort of potion to knock her out first so he wouldn't have to be so forceful. The material had hit the window and she quickly came toward it. Oglind pulled himself back fully on the roof to hide himself but remained at the same angle. Oglind grinned as he heard the window open.

"Hello?" He heard her voice. It was soft, but not weak. "Hello?" He peeked out just in time to see her bend over the edge of the window to look in the alley. At that time Oglind rolled so that he was on his back, though his hands still held him from slipping off by the edge of the roof. Oglind raised his hand toward Ra and gave a quick lateral bend of his wrist as if waving goodbye. His legs then kicked off while his knees and body bent. His hands held on tightly to the edge of the roof and the momentum carried him toward the window. Oglind's body straightened giving himself enough room to slide between the top of the window and the girl's body. Had she not bent over to look down in the alley, her head would have met two swift kicks to the face making Oglind's little adventure pointless. Oglind's acrobatic grace gave the girl only the impression of a strong wind passing through. He landed softly behind her on the red carpet on the wooden floor.

Unsuspeciously the girl closed the window and turned around to continue preparing for bed. But when she did a face covered Dunmer stood there. Oglind had lifted up the scarf he wore as a cover. She jumped back in surprise and tried to yell, but the moment her mouth opened, Oglind's hand had covered it. Her body quickly reacted by trying to drop down like a child that did not want to be picked up. Oglind reacted and followed the motion but also turning her around. He kept his left hand over her mouth while his right arm wrapped around her torso under her chest. His legs straightened out lifting her up and with one spin they were on the bed, her face buried in it with Oglind holding her down from behind. He rolled her on her back as they struggled, for a moment her mouth was uncovered, just enough to gasp in some air but before a scream could be materialized Oglind's hand quickly recovered its spot. Finally she was on her back while Oglind straddled her torso, one hand over her mouth, one hand holding both of her delicate wrists pinned down above her head.

"Be quiet!" Oglind hissed and when she continued to struggle and try to scream again, the hand holding her wrists quickly shot to his inventory of fine throwing knives, grasping one and holding it up for her to see. "Be quiet or you'll die, and i'll be gone as quick as I came in." Oglind this time spoke in a more calm tone. The girls arms folded to cover her briasts in modesty and remained quiet as Oglind's hand left her delicate mouth.

"Take my gold, it's in the drawer, take it but please leave me alone." Her voice was shaking and her breathing was heavy under Oglind.

"No I don't want your gold." Oglind put his knife away and leaned to the side as the straddled her grasping the pillow she had left on the bed. He pulled the cover off of the pillow and twisted it up. He then took her hands placing it above her head at the head board and tied them together to hold her hands up.

"What are you doing?!?" She cried out to Oglind's dismay, her body tensing up and tugging with her tied up hands.

"Please, just be quiet." Oglind felt a bit sorry for the girl as she tears began rolling out of her eyes bit by bit. She had accepted her percieved fate and assumed the worse was going to happen to her. Hopefully she wouldn't be killed. Soon she would see what Oglind was famous for amongst the few who knew his ability such as Ra. He placed his hand over her forehead and gently slide it down her face to her chin. Her beautiful brown eyes soon looked at the Dunmer's fierce red eyes as they slowly began turning the same color as her's. Soon Oglind's skin turned from ashen grey to the olive complexion she woke up and went to bed with every day and night. Oglind's hair began to grow and even his weight seemed to lessen. His clothes began to feel loose in most places and a bit more tight then usual in others. Oglind's face was now the same as her's as she could see as he lowered the scarf on his face. Before the girl knew it she was staring up at her own image. She lay quietly in amazement as now her copy got off of her and even began speaking in her voice.

"I'm going to need your help with some things." Oglind spoke. The voice he was using rolled gently out of his throat. He began undressing himself starting with his now over sized shoes. As they fell off he flexed his smaller feet trying to get a feel for what he would be standing on. The tunic shirt was pulled up over his head revealing a copied femenine appearence. The leather straps on his arms dropped to the floor and his baggy pants followed them. Soon he was more undressed then she was as he bent down picking up his now large clothes and folding them. He placed his shoes ontop of the folded pile he held in his arms and began walking toward the window. The girl tied to the bed remained astonished. She couldn't believe it. What sort of magic trick was this? From the appearence of things, she wasn't going to be violated, at least not in the way she thought she would be.

"Hey Ra." Oglind spoke in his new voice. "Could you hold these for me?" He sat on the edge of the window facing the girl and leaned back out the window while he held on with one hand and with the hand holding his things he reached up. When he felt his clothes taken from him he leaned back inside of the room and walked back toward the bed. Oglind sat down to the right of the girl. "What are you called?" The girl looked unsure for a few seconds and then replied. "Celia."

A short and sweet word, Oglind copied the word in the exact same tone and voice. "Celia. That's a beautiful name. Are you here alone Celia?" Oglind's eyes did not leave Celia's as he asked. He could tell from the eyes if he was being lied to or not most of the time.

"No. My father is a merchant, we're from the Imperial City." Celia spoke in a quiet voice. Her fingers remained girl and tensed as her wrists were tied down and her toes figited amongst each other nervously.

"Ah the Imperial City." Oglind replied with a smile. Internally he was happy with himself counting it as a victory that he had guessed right her origin. He had always been interested in history and the people that made. He often studied the ethnogenesis of the different races and could tell who was from were amongst the racial sub groups. "Where is your father?" He rested his right hand on the tops of her feet to comfort her as well as he could when he noticed her nervous tic.

"He's visiting Count Indarys and spending the night there. He sells foreign goods and wants to open up a shop trading in items from Hammerfell." It was rather odd having a conversation with "herself." She also wanted to tell "herself" to cover up as she felt strange staring at herself undressed for that long. For some reason she felt much more comfortable speaking with the intruder when in this form, and on other levels it completely freaked her out.

"Spending the night there and leaving you here by yourself amongst those sort of people?" Oglind nudged his head aiming toward the lower level of the lodge. "Also i'm not sure how well business is going to be coming in from Hammerfell with the war in Summerset making the seas difficult to travel. Hammerfell is also looking more unstable by the day." Altmer in the higher eschalon of Summerset society had taken advantage of the Oblivion crisis and afterward declare themselves the Aldmeri Dominion and rebelled. The war didn't seem to be ending soon either.

"You mean your sort of people?!" Celia snapped with attitude and bent her knees to pull her feet away. Though the touch she felt was familiar it wasn't hers making it all the more strange. "Why are you here? If you want my money, take it, i'm the daughter of a merchant there is more then enough! If you want to kill me, good! If you want to [censored] me hurry up i'm tired of waiting but you'll need to undue your magic and grow it back! If you want to do all three all the better! Come on what are you waiting for?! Well? Come on..." Her strong attitude began to turn into slow tears as she shut her eyes tightly hoping Oglind would just take the money and leave already.

"What I need is this." Oglind began pulling her skirt down. Celia quickly reacted and bent her knees more trying to make him stop. "No stop! I didn't mean it, leave me alone!" She struggled and cried out but tried to be quiet afraid she could be killed if she was any louder.

"Come on, it's not like I won't see anything I don't already have." He pushed down her legs and pulled the skirt off. The moment Oglind removed the skirt and let go of her knees, Celia crossed her legs tightly not willing to let this go any further. She would fight and struggle all the way through it all. She would kick and bite and spit, she would knee at him and head butt him, she would...

...just watch as her copy simply put on her own skirt? And soon the copy was buttoning up her blouse and stepping into her shoes.

"Okay what the hell is going on here?" Celia couldn't say she was disapointing she wasn't getting [censored], but the situation seemed very odd.

"I just need to borrow your appearence for a while." Oglind spoke as he walked over to her pulling the bed covers over Celia's body up to her knee. "You just try to get some rest okay?"

"But..." Celia tried to speak but Oglind tied her mouth.

"Now go to sleep." He said again as he lifted up the skirt he was wearing uncovering her left thigh and tied the leather strap around it holding the throwing knives. It was impossible not to notice her, or rather his leg in the form of her's. "You're very attractive, this makes my job much easier." With a devilish smile she had only grinned at her crush, now this copy flashed to her as Oglind left the room and closing the door. She couldn't help but feel foolish. In frustration she yelled as loud as she could which came out as nothing more then a crumble with the fabric covering her mouth.

...

That wasn't that difficult, Oglind was thankful taking each step with his usual acrobatic grace adding to his already bountiful attraction. He was glad he had a bit of time to practice in the hall way and as 'she' neared the steps, Oglind saw a Nord walking upward staring at 'her' as intently as he could. As the Nord passsed by Oglind knew he was being stared at from behind but maintaining his composure and grace he continued to walk. As he neared the bottom of the steps into the main room, the smell of all sorts of ales, beers and winess swarmed him. Just about everyone in the room turned to stare at Celia appearence Oglind had copied. A small smile moved over his face and his eyes shifted from left to right blinking in the middle of the motion.

Telindius turned to the Nord and sighed. "There is no problem thank you good sir, this argonian here merely seems to have some illness which the Bosmer seems to have healed, so now everything is fine." Tel looked back at the argonian who now appeared to have a murderous look in her eyes. "Is something wrong my lady? You look rather angry for some reason. If you do not wish to know of Serosi and do not wish for help in tracking him then I will merely leave, it will not trouble me at all if the arsonist gets away. Goodbye ladies." With a bow at Tadeesa and a wink at Parthia he turned and began walking away.

Drynos saw Verus returning from his investigation. He shouted through the crowd to grab his attention. "Hey, Verus over here!" Drynos had just finished his conversation with a Khajiit he usually talked to on a night. They had a rather intriguing conversation about Borba Gra-Uzgash. "So what did you find out, Verus?" Drynos said mildly under the banter that enveloped them. They were heading towards the door and stepped out. The cold wind swiped him as he came out and the warmth was left behind him inside the Lodge.

Ra nodded and took the staff and short-sword from Oglind. He wasn't completely sure what he was going to do, but he had a good idea as he watched him sneak into her room without her knowing. While Oglind did whatever business he was doing, Ra attached the sword to his belt, wrapping the belt around it to have a make-shift sheath. As for the staff he would probably just have to hold on to it, which was going to make things a little harder as Ra was used to having his hands free.

After a few moments, and no word from Oglind, Ra perched himself in a very comfortable sitting position on the point of the roof where he could still see the entrance of the inn. Only seconds after he had finally gotten comfortable he heard a woman calling out to him again. "What now?" Ra mumbled as he leaned over the edge of the building to see some femanine hands holding out Oglinds clothes.

Ra grabbed the clothes and held them up, "Well... No doubt what he's doing now..." He mumbled again, tying the clothing around Oglind's staff so that he only had to carry one item instead of several. Then once again he perched himself on the downward slant of the roof where he could still see the door of the inn but not be seen. Now he just had to wait for the pretty lady to come out of the door.

As Verus made his way through the crowd, everyone's attention seem to shift. He followed their gazes to a beautiful, young Imperial woman. He stared along with the rest of the men, but for different reasons. While all the rest stared with images of lust dancing in their minds, he observed her with a cold, calculating gaze. She was indeed beautiful, almost stunningly so it seemed, and yet...

He lifted his hood slightly to get a better view of the girl, and while it would reveal some of his face, there was something strange about her that he wanted to figure out. Unlike most men, he had no time or desire for such petty thoughts of lust and love, so he was able to observe her as he would anyone else. He wasn't certain how long he stood there, trying to figure out what he found so strange about her, but it was the voice of Drynos that finally snapped him out of his thoughts.

He quickly lowered his hood again and hid his face, walking with him outside. He then put his new wine bottle filled with water into his satchel. He still couldn't believe he had let that Dunmer simply snatch his old one away like that, and the look he had gotten from the bartender when he asked for a wine bottle filled with water annoyed him. Maybe he would have to pay a visit to the Dunmer one day.

He removed the apple he had been eating before from his satchel and took another bite out of it before responding to his question. "Almost nothing I'm afraid. I questioned several people, but the most I could get out of those drunks was that they remembered seeing a strange looking Dunmer who said he was a tea merchant from Morrowind and that he might be from one of the Great Houses. He may be involved with the attack on the Sanctuary, or he may be just that; a tea merchant from Morrowind. Perhaps if they hadn't been drunk, I could have used a bit of magic and forced the memories out of them, but their minds were too chaotic, too befuddled from the alcohol."

Oglind continued to walk through the crowd in his form. It wasn't any illusionary spell but it was indeed magic. Simply by running his hand across someone's face he could copy their appearence in all aspects. He had often used this method to get close to his target before eliminating them. As he walked amongst the crowd of people he noticed someone's eyes had a different glint than anyone elses. Oglind had a nose for detail as much as his eyes did. The scent of alchemy seemed to become stronger with each step in that relative direction. Soon the man lifted his hood and left the Lodge. Rather suspecious Oglind thought, especially after such a long gaze. If Oglind had learned anything in this profession, it was to follow your instincts. He walked through the room and out the door running a bit to catch up to Verus.

"Hey! Your eyes told me you were looking for a friend in there. Am I right?" The Celia copied voice echoed softly in her delicate mouth. The Cyrodiilic language based off of the old Aldmeris was much smoother then the guttural throat language of the Nords Oglind had often copied. It was a nice change.

Verus turned at the voice behind him, staring in shock at the puzzle that had held his thoughts just a moment before. I must have stared for too long, but even so, why would she come after me? A trap perhaps? Maybe I'm just too paranoid, after all she is only a girl. But then so is Parthia, and she's an assassin. Should I kill her?

That one thought stayed in his mind more than any of the others. Should he kill her... No, he would not. He had a strange feeling about this girl, and it puzzled him. He loved puzzles. He would figure out who this girl was, then he would make his decision on whether to kill her or not.

He soon became aware that he had become lost in thought again and was now staring at her. He began to speak with the tone of a gentleman. "No, I was simply looking for an acquaintance, someone I doubt a beautiful lady like yourself would know. But tell me, why would someone such as yourself come out in the cold to speak with me? You should be inside, where it's warm and safe. After all, who knows what kind of people roam the streets at this time of night."

"Daynes," Verus said, referring to Drynos, who he hoped would understand, "please go back and tell my family that I will be a little late, and tell them about that merchant I found. They may wish to visit him in the future. Now then, my lady, why don't I just escort you back inside. Or perhaps there is somewhere you were planning on going?" Though he wished to figure out this puzzle, the mission took priority. This way, he could interrogate the girl, and Drynos would return to the Brotherhood with what little information he had found. It would also keep him from being in danger, just in case his paranoia was right after all.

'Celia' placed her hands behind her back and tilted her head. Oglind was using his appearence of girlish youth the best he could. "Ohh? And how do you know who I know?" The girlish brown eyes seemed to smirk at Verus for a moment before one of them closed in a wink. "Who are you looking for? A Duuuunmer?" 'Celia' accented the word from low to high adding a playful feature to it all. All troughout 'she' had a large smile on 'her' face taking a few steps back and leaning forward a bit. Usually Oglind was very withdrawn but when he took the appearence of someone else he could easily turn into the best of actors...or actresses if he needed.
