Quite funny that people expect a next gen SDK to be 32-bit based. Its 2011. Maybe time to update your OS, or well play with UDK.
Yeah right and the Edu/Commercial version works perfectly fine on 32bit OSes. Makes perfect sense to make the C2 SDK unavailable for most PC users then.

It's not SandBox2, but you still should get the general idea:

@iPwn:

Then correct the affected registry value, what's the problem? BTW, "0" is the default value...

I'm not the only one getting it, and I'm not changing a perfectly healthy regkey for one glitchy SDK. I'll wait for a hotfix or something.

Bad Boy, don't cry for a hotfix just cause you don't know how to handle your OS. If the SDK expects it, either do or don't. your call.

Good boy XD.

"hy does the editor only work for 64bit? WTH, way to go Crytek! The edu SDK works on 32bit, even the leaked version does.
First performance drops on DX9 because of their damn patch 1.9 and now the editor doesn't work. Very nice. Thank you. NOT.

And no I don't reinstall my whole OS because of a damn editor.

Just set up a 64bit VM, simple as that.

It has 32-bit mode guys stop complaining, follow lobo's advice.

Recap

It has:

DX11 Support
Ultra Graphics Support
Hyper threading support
Brand new smooth interface, kinda big on the icon size though...

The interface

Rundown

Tech wise, its sound, besides for vignetting on the camera ALL the time. It is optimized, doesn't crash, bug free and very easy to use if you're even slightly comfortable with Sandbox 2.

My team and I will most likely *not* be able to make Horror/Mystery mods with this, unlike Sandbox 2. Reason for it is below, luckily it supports porting. We might make them in Sandbox 2 then polish and release for Sandbox 3.

On to the problems,

The texture editor is currently locked and very complicated.
There are 1% of the total props, assets, and decals that Crysis 1 had. About all you CAN make are city maps with this thing.
While it does have Time of Day, rumor said it didn't, its very restrictive and looks ugly as hell
Water refracting is wrong, there's something not rendering right about it, I suspect a hotfix will be needed.
There isn't actually an SDK, its just Sandbox 3.
Assets appear to be locked still
Crysis 1 porting does not work, I followed the instructions.

You could try to install and run it on your native admin account, or as admin. maybe there is a permission glitch.

It has 3D sky domes. You can combine ToD's and skyboxes now and the domes can rotate

For those who like setting up your preferences first. I don't suggest setting the editor to ribbon; it crashes every time I open the editor. Doesn't give me a real reason why, but I have to spend my time looking for the string and turn it off.
