SANDBOX 3 FOR REAL NOWWWW!!! GO GO GO GO

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:14 am

It has 32-bit mode guys stop complaining, follow lobo's advice.
.

It does not work you idiot that advice was pure speculation. The SDK has only 64bit exe's.

Where the hell you think it's gonna generate 32bit ones? up your facking ass?

Nice. It has the official .cry files for the SP onboard.
Oh, and it has a PAK Manager, so Extracting, Creating new & Modifying of those is possible.

So, the question is: How to host an own server without renting one? (hint: I want official Public Dedicated Sever files)

Been messing about for a while, definitely a LOT more stable than SB2, more streamlined as well. The new terrain texture business is confusing at first but I figured out how to assign materials now:

Open Material editor first, then go to Texture, highlight your texture and go back to the Material editor, select material then BACK in Texture box - click 'Assign Material'. Sheesh.

Other than that, the same stock textures are in from SB2 which is a little annoying, you have to dig a little to find the decent ones.

Guess it's time to make my own textures again, the Photoshop plugin I haven't tested yet. Anyone?

Because I already started making a new partition for a x64 OS. :|

Anyone elses Layer Brightness defaulting to -25 (guesstimating the figure). You have to 'reset' the brightness every time to get 0.

You don't need to extract anything from the .pak files if you want to create a level with the sb3 editor - they will all load automatically within the editor as it can read from the pak files directly :)

"hy does the editor only work for 64bit? WTH, way to go Crytek! The edu SDK works on 32bit, even the leaked version does.
First performance drops on DX9 because of their damn patch 1.9 and now the editor doesn't work. Very nice. Thank you. NOT.

And no I don't reinstall my whole OS because of a damn editor.
Just set up a 64bit VM, simple as that.

VM's are way too slow for Crysis 2 I'm afraid. Not even sure if DX9 works on VM.

You can try these and see if it helps.
-Run sandbox as admin
-Change your text size back to 100%(Control Panel->Display)
(Sandbox 2 crashes a lot before I set this bit.)

I haven't finish dl sb3 yet, so hopefully these would work for you.

Damn, the asset list is insanely limited, and the vegetation list is even more insane. There's only one type of grass, lol, and there's no frozen models to speak of so no more ice levels.

I am pretty sure I will make my levels in sandbox 2 and just port to 3 for graphics.
