No sandbox, why not?

Post » Wed Dec 23, 2009 6:48 am

Now, seeing as there is a video showing the comparisons in graphics and gameplay between X360 and typical PC and this video quite clearly shows Sandbox mode being played on the 360, why is there no sandbox mode on the actual game? I was looking forward to playing the sandbox mode, and now I see it was just a big con.

So, will it eventually come as a DLC that one will have to pay many MS points for? Or just not come at all?

Don't just reply with the typical "sandbox wouldn't work on X360", because it clearly does as that video showed it being played; not to mention about Forge and Far Cry 2 Map Editor. And don't reply if you don't actually have any official proof from Crytek or EA...

Other than this, great game! Haven't played online yet, but campaign is pretty darn good!

Well, I've played online now and I have to say that I'm very impressed- for me it's well balanced, flows great, excellent maps and enjoyable gameplay; even though I'm not that good at it!

But, anyway, I still want the Sandbox Editor 3; and would be very disappointed if it never comes...

Yes I was looking forward to this too. I kept realizing more and more that they weren't going to include something like it though. But I mean I thought it was going to have something crazy like farcry did. Then Crysis2 would officially be completely awesome

Considering I am a huge custom games fan from Halo 3 and by extension Halo: Reach, I would absolutely love the sandbox mode in Crysis. Halo custom games would be so much less without Forge and custom games seem pretty limited to gameplay options in C2.

Really hope they release the sandbox mode, fingers crossed.

The computer game has an editor? It would be nice to do any way to play created maps on the consoles

i would think they would take advantage of the whole flashdrive update and make it so when the editor comes out, you can import maps into the flashdrive and play them? that would be pretty awesome to do also. we can only keep wishing they read our responses/ideas though. highly unlikely it will happen since they dont think about stuff like that.

I agree and it would be the best in their concerns to at least give us a sandbox dlc! Really good idea.

You never saw a video of it being PLAYED on 360, you probably saw a video of someone using live create to develop for xbox and PC at the same time.
Also, sandbox 3 would never work on console, seeing as it is limited to something close to 500 MB of ram, when you needed 3GB of ram to run sandbox 2 on PC.
Forge style wouldnt work either, since halo achieved forge by having less than amazing graphics, seeing as the framerate isnt exactly spectacular on 360, trying to create on big maps like forge world would crash the xbox.
And frankly, giving consoles an editor would be a slap in the face to PC players.
Btw I play this game on 360.

i was referring to the live create they have on the sandbox editor 3, if you saw pictures of it there are options on it to export it to a console

Yes, It's a good idea, also they might put the Live Create for the users to be able to play levels created in PC in the console
