Sandwiches

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 10:34 am

Might try it out. I once did sandwiches with Milk Cream (I don't know if you have it in your country, but is a absurdly sweet pasty milk) with hamburguers and it worked.

Spoiler

too much calibrations, my PC is good to go!

I'm randomly reminded of the most heavy-going sandwich I ever ate: an eatery near where I worked in London was doing ciabatta with omelette filling. I finished it, but it was really hard work.

I'll stick with my usuals of ham, cheese & pickle or tuna & mayonnaise. Except that I'm on a diet, so no bread for me. Bugger.

I have the strong urge to go to subway and get a sandwich with everything, literally, everything.

A simple sandwich with slices of smoked salmon and hardboiled egg. <3 So good, in fact I dare say that's the tastiest sandwich out there.

I dip grilled cheese in ketchup. That's pretty crazy and strange in most people's books. (Not really a "new" sandwich but similar to the idea, I guess).

~Edit~

Note: This is the ONLY THING I use for ketchup. I don't use ketchup for anything else.

lmao. For me, that would be one of the few things that I DON'T use ketchup for  Eggs, steak, porkchops, hamburgers, fries, etc etc. A grilled cheese though...hmm, not sure how my tastebuds would
react but I might have to give it a try ^^

Friend of mine loves raw bacon sandwitches, but I wouldn't like to try it.

Mind you, I dip it. Not put ketchup on it.

When I was a kid I used to have a thing for bread and butter pickles, those ones that are thinly sliced and kind of sweet, and mustard sandwiches. These days I'm pretty much just into traditional fare, like ham and cheese.

We have Subway over here in the UK who are quite good, is Firehouse Subs a sister company in the US or something and what sort of things do they have on their menu?

I only like the simple ones. Cut a roll in half, put a slice of ham (preferably a spicy one), add some lettuce and cover it with the other half of the roll and that's it. No butter, no cheese, no tomatoes etc.

Your tastebuds are okay with ketchup on a steak, but not on grilled cheese? Mystifying.

I normally eat sandwiches when I'm too lazy to make anything else, so they're pretty basic, but if I can be bothered to make a tasty one... Avocado and peanut sauce or chicken and spicy mayo. Or as a childhood throwback, scrambled eggs and ketchup. Oddly enough, I'd never add ketchup to eggs without bread.

Hmm, I think the only "odd" thing I do with sandwiches is really just a lazy thing - microwaved "grilled cheese" sandwiches. Toast the bread in a toaster, put the cheese on it, nuke away. No pan to clean up. Preparing food is too much work for the payoff, if only we didn't have to eat so regularly..... :/

Hmm, yum bile sandwitches! Reminds me of a distant relative (going back years) who actually packed her husband dirt sandwitches for his lunch at work after a domestic.

Hey, I'm not a steak elitist. I like my meat cooked, thanks. But I also want to appreciate its taste and ketchup covers it too much. Anyway, I hardly ever eat meat these days, so it doesn't matter.

Heh, for me ketchup enhances the taste, as does fried onions . As far as the cook goes, yeah if it's got blood, I'm near puking. I can't even look at meat that has pink in it without gagging a bit,
can't count how many steaks I've sent back in restaurants because I asked for well-done and they bring it out and it's mostly pink ><

It isn't blood, it's water colored red by myoglobin. But visuals play an important part in the culinary experience and looking bloody is enough to discourage many people, even if they might enjoy the meat's flavor. Just a matter of preference.
