Saphira's Romance and the Djinni's Chamber

Post » Wed Aug 11, 2010 4:23 am

I have nothing to do with this mod, except that I occasionally play German language ones, because I can follow along well. Now this one has gotten a new English translation, and deserves more than a casual glance. This is what the modder, Eddy Kaschiniski, in part writes:

Description:
This mod contains to big quests. The starting quest "The Djinni's Chamber" is a thrilling hunt for a legendary treasure. It contains new dungeons, cities and lots of new armors, weapons and so on. The main quest of this plugin is a companion mod which is laid out to 240 ingame days.

Requirements:
~ Oblivion
~ Shivering Isles
~ Patch 1.2.0.416
~ OBMM
~ Full-Version of Saphirias Romance

Install:
~ At first you need the full version of Saphirias Romance.
DOWNLOAD: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20762
~ Put the full version of Saphirias Romance in one folder.

Rename:
The first part: DV_v1_5_part_1-20762.7z in saphirias_romance_v1.5.7z.001
The second part: DV_v1_5_part_2-20762.7z in saphirias_romance_v1.5.7z.002

Down`t forget to rename after the point! If you rename it so:
First part: saphirias_romance_v1.5.7z.001.7z
Second part: saphirias_romance_v1.5.7z.002.7z
It dosn`t work!

~ Then unpack with 7z. Rightklick with your Mouse on the File, unpack with 7z here.
~ Install all Files in your Programme/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data folder
~ Change the Dschinni.esp with the EV one

Credits and Informations
~ Look at the ReadMe

Special Credit:
~ NNW for fixing Misthakes & Translation
~ Saldruir for Translation
~ Arora - Testing the mod for the english community.
~ Fenix Nightweaver - Fix many dialogs.
~ Pvan - Found some Misthakes

Incompatability:
~ Servant of the Dawn
~ Unique Landscapes "Arius Creek"
~ Heard of The Dead

Yes, it's incompatible with HotD, which is going to turn off some folks, but you can't have everything. Perhaps somebody will move one of the two homes which overlap, one of these days. In any case, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25530. This is the ESP that replaces the one in the pair of German language downloads you have to grab, above. If you can install Wrye Bash, you can practically do this with your eyes closed.

I downloaded just to check out - the nexus dl gave me a bunk archive (for the German version where the resources are) the mirror gave me the complete version in a faster download too.

main esp for English needs to be cleaned with edit (about 30 duplicate entries no deletions).

And I found in the German package compatibility patches for Arrius Creek and Servant of the Dawn - so either that bit about incompatibility is wrong or I misuderstand what the patches do.
No HoD patch though.

Don't think I'm going to use this on current play-through though - my load order is still overwhelming and I doubt I'm ever going to be able to complete everythign I have installed.

I've played it, and it's a very good mod. Don't use it anymore because it's not lore-friendly, but the use of the ayelid tileset is incredible. Highly recommended.

MidDark has been kind enough to produce a patch of his HotD mod that makes it compatible with this one.

I just decided to try this mod out after I saw the HOD update on nexus.

It's HOD 6.3 update in the files section Menno, should be there since I just grabbed it myself.

I also noticed, much like Psymon, that if you follow the mirrors (not only will have find the mod in a single archive, with a faster/perhaps no cap on dl speed) you find patches for Arrius Creek and Servant of the Dawn.

Now Regarding the UL patch, it's for the Deutsch Version of Arrius. I simply switched the master to the English version using Wrye Bash and everything lit up green. Will this pose an issue? Will I bring in a slew of German language into my game by using this patch (they said the compatibility was AC covering a camp, so I assume all patching is landscaping).

I am probably just stupid - but I can't find the key to the Gate to City of Luthien Melwasul.

Can anyone give me a big clue - feel free to PM if you don't want to post any spoilers.

Many thanks for any help.

There should be a "Master Alchemist's Chest" on the left as you are facing the city entrance.

Many thanks - the problem was that Heart of the Dead, which is now supposed to have compatibility included for Saphira, actually covers up the chest. I will try and chnage the recommended load order and see if it can be made to work together.

Edit:

Making HOD load before Saphira seems to work for both mods (although with some land tearing) - this is the opposite of what was recommended on the BOSS forum - will suggest the change.
