What weps is everyone using. I'm only level 11 but I was hoping to mow through this one but I can't get in the front door. I have all the picket fences magazine's but this one. The bat boy and flamer light me up eveytime.

You are WAY too low a level for this, in most cases (Yes, I know there are folks out there who did it at level 1, with no Perks, 1's in all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes, naked and bare handed without Companions while critically encumbered and suffering from every negative status effect in the game. I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the rest of us.). Try going back every couple of Levels and trying your luck again. Or waiting until the 'skull' symbol stops appearing by their name, signaling that they are much higher level than you. Honestly, with this game I've found that the 'try it and see' method works the best for me. Sometimes I can demolish those high level critters with decent strategy (or, you know, a Fat-Man ;) ) sometimes I need to wait until I outlevel them by quite a few levels. If all else fails, Heavy Weapons and Power Armor are the great equalisers.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried long range first? Lay a minefield in front of you, when you shoot that should draw them out towards you. Then a short weapon if you manage to get inside. They're tough to get passed, I think I used a Fat Man to defeat the Boss at the end...

Good luck!

As said, level 11 is way too low. They are (if memory serves correct) at least level 20+ in that room, and boss is in Power armour. He doesn't wear a helmet tho, which is how I defeated him the first time around. I popped Jet before his speech was over, VATS headshotted him with a crit in bank, and that was that as the saying goes :D

saugus iron works is tough, use a sniper rifle and keep your distance, just focus on one at a time, there's a hill off to the side, be careful cause supermutants and a death claw is close by, but try sniping them, move a lot also, but keep a distance once you get inside its tough, you need a combat shotgun maybe a plasma or assault rifle but at your level you prob don't have those, outside is easier but rambo style won't work unless you'r robust and well armed.

You should probably bring a companion too, hopefully they will distract some of them buying you precious precious seconds .

Unless you're trying to make a template character that hasn't done any quests you could probably plow through it with the T-45 and the Minigun from the Museum of Freedom

One good and easy method is to collect molotov and frag grenades to use on them. Those are invaluableagainst tough enemies.

Going to hold off a bit I think. As everyone said just level up a bit before I go in again. Played through the Castle and a few other quests tonight getting up to level 15. I used that mini nuke and a few missiles for the big hermit crab. [censored] my pants when I went into the basemant and found Sarge. Another mini nuke on him along with using the armor. Been playing for like 9 hours. Just finished up with a race track of robots.

Had the game about a week. Lost 3-4 days of real leveling because I never played Fallout before. Wasn't using the vat system at all. I play allot of TF2 but when the dogs or flies were whipping on me I was about to hang this game up. Bit easier when you can slow down the game and fire.
