After 8 hours my save file is at 7,169kb. Is this ok? Seems to be getting quite large already for only 8 hours play time?

What is considered the limit before Skyrim decides not to play ball anymore?

If this is bad I would rather start over again now and remove a few mods from a new game rather than have to do so in another 30 hours.

Is there a recommended limit on how many scripted mods you should use per save?

The character I've spent time with the most's save file is 15.3 MB.

This is after doing all the questlines, factions (minus the DB) and all the DLC's.

The first saved file I ever had was around 3 MB.. and about 37 saves in, it was already at 10.7 MB. It's fair to say that I wasn't using a lot of mods either as Skyrim had just been released.

Hopefully this is enough to give you a gauge on your own file sizes.

Depends on how many mods you have really. My 84 hour save is 12.5 MB and I have had no more than 47 mods this far.

There is no limit, that was an issue with the PS3 version, but that issue never affected the PC.

There is no real limit to the number of scripted mods, as long as your computer can handle the scripted mods, you'll be fine.

Really? I thought the file size still mattered on PC just didn't become an issue as fast.

My system can handle quite a lot but so far I have started off gentle and not got too much installed.

27 hours in and my save is 8mb, about 40 mods installed, seems normal so far.
