Save game - installed mods

Post » Tue Apr 05, 2011 10:49 am

Hi all,

I'm trying to move save games from one PC to another. I went through and thought that I had installed all of the mods that were present on the machine where the save games originated, but Oblivion doesn't seem to agree. When I attempt to load the game I get the "this save game relies on content that is no longer available...." message.

Since Oblivion knows that stuff is missing, I would assume that there should be some way to interrogate the save game to determine which mods were installed when the game was saved. However, I have not been able to discover such a tool. Does anyone know of a tool I can use?

Thanks in advance for any all all help!

Use Oblivion Mod Manager or Wrye Bash to find out saved mod list.
- OBMM: 'Utilities' -> 'Save Manager'. Click on any save file.
- Wrye Bash: Go 'Saves' tab, click on any save file.

You can use Wrye Bash. It will show which plugins were installed, and red boxes next to the plugins for the saves profile will indicate missing mods.

Get the Wrye Bash downloads from step#2, the installation instructions are at step #6: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/installutilities.

Thanks!

Never knew that save manager existed in OBMM. (Should have known since it's such a great tool!)

Found my missing mods so I can install them & start playing again.
