Have had no issues for a long time, but now every time I save, the game ends up freezing when it tries to load the new save.

I have used the save game cleaner and this will load the game but then freeze as soon as it loads up and the game world comes up.

Any ideas as to what is going on? The save game isn't that large, only 13.8 MB and I have had SKSE "clearinvalidregistrations" turned on from the beginning...

What is save game cleaner? Doesn't sound too good.

Does this happen every single time you try to load your save, even from the main menu, or only when you attempt to load from within the game? (i.e. when you're playing your PC and need to reload for some reason).

Whatever is going on, this is only going to lead to even worse problems and has definitely already corrupted that file.

You'll probably need to turn on Papyrus logging and see if there's any hints on where it's stopping. Keep in mind this will not tell you what's actually causing it, but it should give an indication of whether you're getting past script initialization or not.
