Hello everyone,

So I'm about 30 hours into game and all of a sudden my auto + quick saves stop working. After losing quite a bit of time because I had to load an old manual save I decided I'd just have to rely on manual saves as the other (auto+quick) weren't working. I was fine with this.

Then all of a sudden I load up my game and press 'Continue' and the game freezes up and the only way I can close the game is by ending the program via Task Manager. So I realised that I can only load previous saves for the game to work, I can't actually load the newest save without it freezing.

So pretty much, I cant auto or quick save and I can't load my most recent saves.

(I can quick save but when i exit the game or die it gets deleted. Auto saves just plain don't work.)

I had a similar problem try playing with steam offline.. I did that and it started working....

i am 29 hours into the game, and the same thing has just started happening to me, i tried steam in offline mode and running stystem virus scans, but nothing seams to work :/

Have you folks ventured into Vault 3? Because after entering that Vault and playing to the point of letting the prisoners in the cages out, that is when this problem began happening to me....

Same happened to me after visiting and killing everyone in Vault 19, and i think i found the solution:

I searched for my saved game files and they are here C:\users\your username\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves

there are backup files for the autosave and the quicksave files named "autosave.fos.bak"

( back up them to somewhere just to make sure ) rename them for "autosave.fos" only then choose overwrite, with that i was able to fix my save files.

I've been playing for about 20 hours so far and finally ventured to vault 3 just to have my save files all stop working after exiting. I've tried all the things i could find on the forums. The patch also did nothing to help. My game is currently unplayable what can i do?
