Introduction:
This mod gives the player the option to save the skill increase from skill books for later use. This allows the player to pick up and read a skill book without the skill increase, if the player so chooses. The option to learn from the skill book is reserved until the time the player decides to take advantage of the skill increase. The skill corresponding to the skill book is also displayed beforehand, letting the player know which skill will be affected by studying the book. This provides an immersive method of reading and gaining knowledge from skill books with more control in level progression.
Gameplay Details:
When a skill book is activated or equipped, a message box will appear giving the player the option to either skim the pages or study the book. Skimming the pages allows the player to read the book without gaining the skill increase. Studying the book grants the skill increase to the player. This change affects all skill books in Morrowind, and only Morrowind is required. Versions of this mod are included for players using Book Rotate and Book Jackets.
