I'm afraid it can't run Oblivion. Intel graphics cards are known to be....pretty much low-end.

Your best bet is the desktop. Any idea of it's model number?

Okay, desktop is Dell Inspiron 570, with a 64-bit operating system, and an AMD Athlor II X2 240 processor, 2.80 GHz

uhm...graphics card is a Radeon HD 4200....you could try to run Oblivion with that, but I wouldn't be surprised if the performance is not very high...

But if you want to try, then it's definitely the desktop for you.

okay, thanks. Think it will run Skyrim? Cause if they don't add wolf pets in the game, I so want to use mods for it...

I don't think so...you need at the very least to upgrade your graphics card. A mid-end GTX 5xx or Radeon 6xxx will surely do it nicely, if you're not in the mood of spending too much money.

Well, I'm always in the mood to spend money--ask my husband, he'll tell you  But it's not likely in my budget with two kids, so, I'll have to go as inexpensive as possible. Thanks for the tip. I think I'll be buying Skyrim on both 360 an pc. :D

Yeah, but I need to be able to play while laying in bed sometimes, so I'll just put some money aside... November should be sufficient time to save up for all three! :hubbahubba:

In morrowind, not sure about in oblivion though, the Bosmer's had a race skill that was tame animal. That could be used to tame a wolf, or any creature, and perhaps talk it into being your ally/companion. For example, taming the wolf would calm it down, and then giving it meat would make it your companion.

but in reality, wolves only attack humans if they are starving or if they feel threatened.

Wolves don't attack people if they're starving, they keep the hell away from them, the only instance I can think of where wolves could attack humans
would be if cornered.

But anyway yeah, i'd like to have more realistic wolves, also, it would be nice if they moved in packs.

Have you ever heard the story of lobo the wolf?
A true story I found out about playing Red Dead Redemption, because they have a wolf in that game named Lobo you have to hunt in the master hunter's challenge.

In Oblivion, I have a mod that makes forest animals, such as wolves and bears, passive. unless I attack them first. Which I never do because I hate having to kill animals....except for spiders and insects. Eff those guys! ;P

Maybe bears will get this same treatment as well.

Like this curious fellow:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk8pRJ7jV94

I'm hoping that most "animals," (IE not creatures) will be more passive and only defend their selves/food/territory and each have thier own AI depending on what type of animal they are, like if they are pack animals, loners, meat eaters, etc.

The planet eaters (obviously) eat plants, meat eaters will actually hunt animals to eat (which can be any logical prey animal for them) and some do both.

It's nice to see realistic animals. I hope they are realisticly challenging as well, at low levels a wolf should chew you up like grandma. If you want an animal companion create a Bosmer character and use their Beast Tounge power or become a mage and use the Command Beast spell. Looking forward to commanding my pack of wolves to ravage a small town.

Honestly, it's not that insane to think that there will be more passive animals. In New Vegas, some Wild Dogs, and even some Night Stalkers would not attack the player until they tread very close, even while not sneaking or marked as "Detected".

They should be a perk called. "Protected by Wolves; You was abandoned as a babe by your parents. Unable to fend for yourself, death was surely upon you. Yet, fate had other ideas, a great wolf found you by the river and nursed and cared for you. The wolf then left with the arrival of a gentle shepherd who raised you with his wife as his own child. Since then you have had an unusual connection to wolf-kind. Oh, you also had a twin-brother but he "disappeared" after you had an disagreement over a simple wall. Ah well, you're the brother everyone will remember anyway."

Weither they attack or not, I will attack all the wolves I see. I've worked on farms, I've tried my darndest to keep them out of the chicken coop and other things they consider food, and every time they find a different way in. Beating a few over the head with a sword and then zapping them with lightning makes me feel ooohhh so much better. But really, the darn things are crafty. If the act like a pack...I will show no mercy. Especially if the darn things move into small towns at night and take food. I will track them down though the snow and end them.

At any rate however, animal ai seems to be improved from what we've been told and what we've been able to see.

And I want climbing and interesting thief gameplay. We see how far that's going.

Apparently someone from Warren Spector's Thief team worked on Oblivion and possibly Fallout 3.

How the -hell- didn't he dominate on this.
