Some creatures will ignore you if you don't bother them. this has been confirmed. and i have confirmed for myself in my head that this will be buggy as hell.

Isn't it a bit too early to speculate about system requirements? I mean as far as we know, this game could be the new Crysis when it comes to system requirements.

Anyway... Skyrim is the only reason I'll be getting a job this summer :D

Pretty sure wild animals just do whatever the hell they want to, regardless of what people think they know about them.

If that wolf wants to chew your face off its going to try, hungry, threatened or not.

Best to avoid going into places with wolves or attack first and ask questions later.

If you've ever seen a youtube video of a person getting attacked by a 'perfectly safe, docile Zoo animal' then you know what I'm saying.

Well then...hooray! :celebration: That makes me happy! But I still want to have a wolf as a pet. It would be fantastic. :D

What is this, Minecraft?

I've always played on 360 bc I can't stand using a keyboard. But I would love to check out all the mods for pc sometime, if i can get a controller to use in place of the keyboard... :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but Fallout 3 and Fallout NV were both Games for Windows Live, so they have built-in Xbox 360 controller support, and Skyrim will most likely also be a "Game for Windows Live".

You know, that's a very rare occurrence... People work with supposedly vicious wild animals all the time, and more often than not, the animals can be wondrously friendly. I'm not saying none of them should attack you. I'm just saying, if every wild animal humans came across attacked every time they saw us, humankind would likely have become extinct. Just because a small amount of them attack humans doesn't make them all mindless beasts bent on destroying all humans. Give me a break.

Decades of studies (with certainly more credentials than YouTube) have shown wild animals, such as wolves, to be fairly gentle creatures, with much more intelligence than people give them credit for. They attack for these reasons: they were emotionally/psychologically disturbed, starving, feel threatened, protecting their young, or abused by human beings. There are humans who seemingly attack other humans for no reason--but we aren't all going around killing everyone else we come across. You seem to think animals have nothing but a bloodthirsty desire to kill us, which is rather unfounded ignorance, IMO.

They should be a perk called. "Protected by Wolves; You was abandoned as a babe by your parents. Unable to fend for yourself, death was surely upon you. Yet, fate had other ideas, a great wolf found you by the river and nursed and cared for you. The wolf then left with the arrival of a gentle shepherd who raised you with his wife as his own child. Since then you have had an unusual connection to wolf-kind. Oh, you also had a twin-brother but he "disappeared" after you had an disagreement over a simple wall. Ah well, you're the brother everyone will remember anyway."

:P

I thought Todd Howard discussed this? I remember he said that wolves will go after you if they are out hunting. But if they are at their den, or just made a kill- then they will guard and not go after you unless you go too close to it, and then if u run they will not follow.

I believe it was the game informer mag if I am not mistaken. I have it somewhere gimme a sec to go find it.
Ya it was in the game informer. "Enemies now each have unique behavioral patterns. Not every monster you meet in the wilderness will immediately jump to the attack."
That was a caption under the giant troll that you see in the trailer. He later explains it in further detail- using the wolf example

Yup as others stated not all wildlife will be hostile all the time, and I heard they wont chase you to the ends of the earth either which is VERY good news. I never liked having to kill wildlife simply because it would not stop chasing me.

I'm not sure. I know it isn't the latest issue but the one before that. If I find anything I'll send it your way.
Okay- it was OXM my bad. He hinted toward it in GI and then gave the wolf example in OXM. I got this from http://www.vg247.com/2011/02/07/skyrim-detail-blowout/
"Enemy and creature AI has been tweaked in line with NPC behaviour improvements. Wolves were given as an example; they will stay inside their den, venturing out to hunt a few times each day. If they make a kill, they stay with it, guarding it from the player if he or she approaches, or following and attacking if the player ventures into their territory."
I know OXM doesn't have a good online version, but if you google it you should get some hits
