Saved games will not load following automatic XB1 update

Post » Wed Jan 13, 2016 2:07 am

This problem has only started to happen after an automatic XB1 update which installed on 3/1/15.

After that point no saved games will load.

After selecting the Saved Game to load it gets to the next screen where the rotating object is shown and then after a few seconds it freezes with a buzzing noise. It then throws you out to the Xbox One home screen.

I have done a restart, a full console reset, and a full game uninstall/reinstall as per the crashing http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1543740-fallout-4-xbox-one-support/, but the problem still exists.

Any suggestions for a fix, or is this now an incompatibility with the XB1 update?

My bad - it wasn't an XB1 system update on 3/1/16, it was only a check - the console hasn't updated since mid December.

So, given that the console hasn't changed, the game won't load anything, and I've already followed the recommended steps (restart/power cycle console/reinstall game), where do I go from here?

Managed to get this working by going back to a much earlier saved game.

So I've lost several hours of play, scenarios that I'd played are no longer available, and I'm completely underwhelmed by the complete lack of response/support from anybody from Bethesda.

Do you have any news?

I bought the game, paying a lot of money and I can't use it.

It's not acceptable for me, because the game has been released 2 months ago and we can't have this kind of issue.

Please keep me update asap about the resolution.

Also having this issue. I haven't recently updated my xbox but was playing the game when it suddenly closed and the below perfectly matches the issues i'm experiencing now.

As said by others, we invested a lot of money and time in the game and it is not acceptable.

At the very least Bethesda could acknowledge the issue with a response.

As I said above, I got it back working again by loading a much earlier saved game. It appears that the last set of saved games were all corrupt, but one from much earlier loaded.

I lost hours of gameplay, and several scenarios/achievements that I couldn't recreate - e.g. incidental characters not in the same place second time around.

And in my opinion the Bethesda approach of directing all incidents raised to them to this forum smacks of abdication of their responsibilities, especially when they can't even be bothered to respond here.

Yes after checking my old save files I managed to load one but it would mean losing 7+ hours of gameplay.

I agree with you about Bethesda's approach of directing all issues to this forum, complete copout. I recently had an issue with an EA game and it was sorted within half an hour by calling their helpline and speaking to someone (EA frequently disappoint me with their quality but can't fault their customer support!). I suspect with the huge amount of bugs in previous releases Bethesda opted to go for the online route to avoid a phone line overload.

As much as I love the game I think this will be it for me. Its a real shame but the thought of re-doing the last 7+ hours of gameplay and it happening again really takes the fun out of it.
