My saves from the latest 10 hours of gameplay have been corrupted. The game will instantly crash when I try to load any of them.

Has anyone received a response from GStaff?

I got a response. No fix yet but I've sent my saves over so hopefully they find the problem and a fix will be included in the upcoming beta patch.

Also, the workaround I suggested in my previous post to occasionally load your latest save won't work. If you have the same problem I have, the saves will load fine until you exit the game and try to load the game next time you play. That's when you find out that your last XX saves don't work and you lose progress.

What I have found works is before finishing play for a session, I travel back to sanctuary and save in the root cellar. The game seems to be happy with saves that are made in small areas (Sanctuary itself also seems to work but I save in the root cellar as well just to be on the safe side, also small caves and rooms seem to work but large outdoor or indoor areas can have the problem.)

So, if you do have the problem try loading a save that takes place in a smaller area if you have a recent one there, and in the future find an area that works, then always travel back there and save before finishing a session. My tip for the day. Hopefully it works for other people rather than just me.

Did the new beta patch fix the problem for any of you?

Also ran into this problem. All my saves within the last 10 hours of play result in a crash when trying to load. Beta patch today did not fix it.

I am having the same Problem. I can't load any old saves (infinite loading screen).

If I start a new game, the load saved games works again, but only for the new saved games.

I don't want to restart this game. I have spent to many hours playing - 65 hours!

Any word from Bethesda about fixing these broken saves? It feels like there are a lot people that have run into this problem, so it would be nice if Bethesda would say something about it.
Will they fix this so we can use the saves that have been corrupted? The answer to that question pretty much decides if I will every play the game again.

Great Feedback! This is the cause of not being able to reload saved games! I could reload the saved game at "Vault 81" - and it loaded correctly again.

No response here in the forum and no response on my Supportticket since a week !! Wow Bethesda.....really....wow....

It's the week of thanksgiving here in the US. I imagine most of them are off until monday.

Thanks for the information buddy. I can understand that they have other things in mind at thanksgiving and of course i can imagine that they are drowning in a flood of supporttickets right now, but a short message that they will handle the problem asap isn't too much to ask i think. The hours we played are lost and i don't want to start a new game, just to realise after another 30hours that the same [censored] is happening again

Just thought I'd update.

I'm using the beta patch and still having the issue, so I'm guessing the fix isn't included in this one.

The workaround of finishing a play session in Sanctuary or a small inside area is working, but now I'm having regular crashes which means I can't finish playing where I want to.

The crashes are happening when exploring east of Diamond City - in the Fens, Commonwealth or Black Bay and it's happening often - perhaps the area is bugged or perhaps my game has just had enough.

Next time I play I might ignore the area to the east to see if I can continue exploring other places (I've got people waiting for me in the east as part of a quest so hopefully they won't mind waiting for another patch )

Can we get any words from somebody at Bethesda about this?

I am having the same sort of problem. No matter what character i try i hit an infinite load screen anytime i try to enter Good Neighborhood. I can do anything but enter.

I got a responsen saying that they are investigating the issue and are looking for potential solution in future updates. Don't know if future updates means the next patch or further ahead in the future. I guess we will just have to wait and hear from them again when they get closer to fixing this issue.

This might sound weird, but I just updated my Nvidia drivers (To version 359.00) and now I can load my save games that previously didn't load.

If you're using Nvidia, try to do the same.

I haven't played, just did some test-loading to see if it made a difference and it looks like it did. I even tried some of my old saves from a few weeks ago when I first mentioned the problem here and they loaded too!

I'll be testing properly when I play on the weekend, but I'm cautiously optimistic at the moment! If anyone else tries updating drivers let us know if it changed anything.

Is this happening to quicksaves and autosaves mostly? Remember not to rely soley on those. Always make new manual saves along the way so you don't lose too much progress.

This is not uncommon in these games. ALso anyone mess with the console? Anyone running microsoft security essentials? Have you guys tried a game cache verify?

Great that this worked for you but did not work for me unfortunately(I'm on a GTX 980).
