Saves on PS3 **Need help!**

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 8:20 pm

Hi there I have been playing Skyrim on PC for some time and also have it on PS3.

I have a problem, I started a new game after I got bored of my mage and decided to start a new and try swordsman type of character. But this is the problem, even though I still wanted my mage character after I started a new and did a few parts of the game my saves were over written for my mage and I have now lost that character.

Is there no way to have more than one character on PS3 without it overwriting other saves?

Thanks guys!

Were you just using the auotsaves and quicksaves? Or were you making manual saves (Going through the menus to save)

Autosaves and quicksaves are always overwritten, the game only maintains a couple of each.

Manual saves should not be auto written over.

Same thing happened to me, its worked for probably 4-6 playthroughs and several hours, just keep the prisoner file the game creates just before character creation. 2800-ish kb file so no harm in keepin it.

It works for me so it should work for you. All else fails, get a 2.0 flashdrive, pop it into your PC to install drivers and now you got a memory card for your PS3. Even with the prisoner save file i'll backup my saves onto it as a precaution, $8 - $30 bucks for usb flashdrive is worth the investment as opposed to rippin your hair out down the line, copy saves onto it and done, couple seconds.

I wrote a complaint about this last year on the tech board. Never got a reply.

Welcome to the club. I've lost 2 high level characters this way. Thanks Bethesda.

You could always use the "try a new character" excuse that was thrown out there a lot.
