I say we "deserve" a legion dlc

Your observations, as you like to call them, are indirect and have nothing to do with the actual subjects, thus they don't bring you any closer to being right. If you get to talk to all those dead wastelanders littered around the place and they all turn out to be baby eaters, then you'll be right.

Nipton is a dead argument; give it up.

Just look back a few pages, I've always thought Nipton was a dead argument. This certainly doesn't make it anymore valid.

My assumptions as you like to call it come from lore and in-game observations. That is what ultimately makes me right.

No it doesnt. Just because a place is terrible doesnt mean everyone there wants to kill people or is bad. Theres people living in places that they dont like without a choice.

I dislike this idea.... Because this means you'll have to be devoted to the Legion... and theirs no way I can ever get my rep back for what I did to the Legion and NCR....
When I came back from Dead Money, NCR hated me and Legion wouldn't stop hunting me when i went to towns like Novac.... All the citizens would die sooo then i had to hunt down Ceasar... and Killed him....

Sometimes, I like to play the most evil character ever, so I side with the Legion (and I actually manage to get a Very Evil karma!)

Their missions are fun, and I want more frumentarii things. Arizona Killer is a quest I'll always remember.

The Legion svcks, imo, but I do think they're an interesting faction. So yes, I do want a Legion DLC.

Weren't the three dead legionaries killed by that Mister Gutsy?

One was killed by a booby trap (or the guy in the house), one was killed by the guy in the trailer park, and the gutsy might have gotten one. Still resistance.

Or so you'd like to assume. And I don't argue assumptions.

Everything in-game points towards Nipton being a horrible place with horrible inhabitants.

Yeah, like Vulpes said, a "town of prosttutes", right?
For like the tenth time, being a prosttute doesn't entitle people to execute you. Women may be forced to do that because they have no other options, and Legion executes them for it? Not okay. You haven't been able to explain this away, and you won't be able to.

Nipton's hardly a dead argument, your entire argument is based on something said by the man who killed everyone in the town in order to justify said killings. Not exactly gospel truth, no?

I played trough one time and ended independent without a spoiler I can say i was puzzled by the ending . I am now playing through as person who sides with the legion if possible . I would love to see all three sold separate a NCR expansion disc a independent and a legion heck even a Mr house disc . At 40-60 bucks a pop the makers could make a mint because l all the true hardcoe fans would have to buy all four They could call it the I KNOW WE SAID WE WOULD NOT EXPAND THE ORIGINAL STORY BUT FOUR DISC ARE A CRAP LOAD OF MONEY SO HERE YOU GO "

And your argument is based around.....? Nothing. Didn't Ghost also mention Nipton being a terrible place? Really, this is a dead argument and this is really tiring.

Not hardly; my argument is based around the statement that being a prosttute doesn't entitle others to execute you whenever they see fit.
Vulpes himself says that's what they destroyed the town for being, a "town of prosttutes", and that's what I object to. Hardly nothing.

If you think being a prosttute means you deserve execution by crucifixion, then by all means, it's a dead argument.

prosttutes in the sense of that they'd do anything for money.

Some of that was allegorical, sure, but some of it wasn't; Vulpes doesn't strike me as an overly metaphorical type and Nipton certainly had actual prosttutes. Fact stands that Legion almost certainly executed people in Nipton who didn't deserve it.

That's the whole point of their faction; they use indiscriminate brutality and terror tactics. It's what they do, I don't dislike them for it, but I do recognize the fact that they do bad stuff.

And I still believe that no decent person would reside in a place like Nipton, but hey, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

You seem to be under the impression that everyone has a choice of where to live. Unfortunately, people born into crappy circumstances aren't able to escape those circumstances a lot of the time. Just look at urban inner-city slums. Do you think most people want to live in run-down, crime-ridden areas? Of course not. They live there because they don't have a choice, they don't have the means to go somewhere else. Don't see why Nipton would be any different.

Nipton is just an example of the Legion's harsh justice. Vulpes obviously generalized, but to him it's probably guilt by association.

I dislike this idea.... Because this means you'll have to be devoted to the Legion...

What the....?

No...

It doesn't...

Example of how one could work:
You get a radio signal from some group asking for when someone named Jason is gonna come.
You go there and a group of people who are going to break into a Legion city in Arizona to break out their leader who got enslaved by them.
Now you get to go into the DLC undercover and either expose yourself and help Legion out by setting up this other group.
Or help the current breakout group.
Or go Wild Card and make enemy of both sides, this part ends up with you having to fight for your life against everything and try to escape from the city (which requires a couple of quests to be completed of course)

But you don't "have to" be with the Legion.
You could just as well be NCR and vilified with them and still go undercover.
The difference is that you will have to watch out for dogs and spotters if vilified.

He said town of [censored]s. [censored] does not necessarily equal prosttute. This misinterpretation of words is the reason the "gay courier" rumor started spreading.

The difference is that in the real world if people live in the slums they can't just up and leave cause then they have nothing, the most they can do is squat in an abandoned house and live like rats, but that would turn them into a step better than hobos.
So they choose to stay cause the alternative is worse.
In the Fallout world it works differently.
All towns and cities have jobs for people and everyone can make themselves useful one way or another and have a decent enough life there.
Or they could just move to an empty house and try to be self reliant and hunt their own food and trade with a nearby settlement every once in a while.
So yes, if they wanted to they could just up and leave.
Sure, there's some dangerous [censored] around the wastes but they gotta realize that if they live in a place like Nipton where there is no real law enforcement they should expect that something bad is going to happen to them some day.
If not by Legion then by somebody else, maybe a psycho addict on withdrawal tries to rob them, maybe a PG wants to have some "fun" with them.
Legion executed everyone in order to stop the spree of filth that originated from Nipton and to also set an example for the rest of the Mojave and the NCR.

You keep saying that, but if you actually looked at what I've posted you'd realize that isn't the case. You've yet to refute the point that Legion almost certainly executed innocents in Nipton (Vulpes said they executed people for being prosttutes and The Vault backs that up), so I see no need to move on until you can actually provide a legitimate rebuttal.

Plenty of people in inner city slums have jobs, they just don't leave because they don't have enough money. Furthermore, leaving itself is far more dangerous in the Fallout wasteland; Nipton is surrounded by merciless raiders and gangsters who would kill you on sight (the Jackal camp directly to the west, for example). That's pretty strong incentive to stay in a cesspool, even if it is a cesspool.

And again, I'm not contesting that there weren't people in Nipton who had it coming, there certainly were; I'm just trying to point out to Mr. Body Massage Machine that Legion executed people who likely weren't deserving of it along with the baddies simply for being prosttutes and the like. That's the whole point of their faction, indiscriminate and brutal justice to keep the populace in line via fear.
