Scale 1:1?

Just a question about houses. When I enter a house I always get the feeling that the house is bigger on the inside than on the outside.

Is this correct? :)

I have this feeling too, especially when I'm playing Morrowind

I know a lot of games have had this in the past. I guess it's some technical thing but I don't really know.

The house models are smaller, but the interiors do give the feeling of being..cramped.

Hahaha...

I get the impression it is.

But no, I really mean all houses feel like this.

They seem pretty accurately sized to me. Maybe Breezehome isn't.

All insides are worlds on their own. They built them after their respective models.

My sentiments exactly. The exteriors are completely different from the interior cells. They may resemble each other but that's about it.

The exterior tends to be much smaller then the interior, this is most easily seen with forts. I guess they didn't want the land to feel smaller with many large buildings occupying much of it.

Honestly i found most of them accurate. most games that have inside cells different than the outside building structure have that issue though. you should see Dragon Age 2. :P

Exactly. This reminds me how artists in the early Middle Ages conceived cities. Take Giotto for instance; he used to paint anyone either on the battlements of a tower or in a square like giants while the buildings all tiny and compressed. It's kind of the same perception, just in the 13th century artists painted like that because they had the simplicity of children inside an advlt mind. :P

Edit: found a pic to get an idea:
