scaling down a creautre skeleton in blender

I want to scale down a rather large creautre skeleton in blender so that it doesnt need to be scaled down in the CS (which causes some bugginess).

The trouble is when I try it screws the skeleton, if I try to scale it in edit mode then all the collision boxes get messed up, if i do it outside of edit mode it does change it after exporting. Im not the best at this skeleton thing in blender yet....is there a trick to importing them? I can even really change their sturcture in blender at the moment.


EDIT: I'll also mention that after importing a skeleton it is very different from a skeleton that has been built in blender......aka the bones are all in one object rather then seperate. If you run edit mode on that object then move a bone it only does that bones, no others.
