I would like to know more about how much of a performance hit these mods are. I know my laptop cant handle OOO. It stutters like crazy even when using streamline and the other stuff. That also effectively rules out FCOM. So how much is performance affected by Warcry, MMM, and Frans? Also, I have heard from very good sources you can combine in Wrye mash Warcry, MMM, and Frans.

Post system spec for laptop first..

Warcry has very little performance hit

frans if you activated mwl then perhaps that otherwise minor performance hit if using creatures etc..

MMM will give some a performance hit depend on system/other mods / etc.., but it does alot, adds alot, increase numbers you fight in combat, so that is to be expected..if you used spawn rated reduced reduced which would lower the number you fight in combat down..and no mwl the performance hit should be minimal, no extra wounding etc..

MMM already has a version for Frans..but you can use Wrye Bash to get frans / warcry / MMM to work together with some limitations of course..

Your probably best to post this type of question in the hardware thread

If you use FCOM you can use the No Spiders optional esp. dont think there is a way just using Frans though

I haven't tried this myself so I cannot vouch for it but give this a try:

The same mod is also on the Frans patches page on TES Nexus, along with other files to modify Frans or for compatibilty with other mods(e.g. the UOP).

What's CUO? The search function doesn't work for 3-letter words.

http://dragoncaptions.webs.com/oblvionmodprojects.htm, I think.
The project is not a scaling overhaul though.

An excuse for bumping this very informative thread.

i used to use FCOM....although i prefer TIE now. it only took me half an hour to get FCOM up and running and i only had to flip a couple of esps around. i think it gets a bad rap for installation and now there are programs that do it for you.

i think one more point of comparison should be density for lack of a better term. every five steps i was running into one thing or another in FCOM (one of the reasons i uninstalled it). which some people might like but for me was a little over the top. i literally would walk from an atronach to a giant spider to a minotaur and then a spriggan all within the same cell. TIE is much less sparsely populated than FCOM although more so than vanilla. if you like more of a hack and slash then FCOM is more for the liking. TIE seems to be more for adventuring.

also the combat changes in TIE cannot be emphasized enough. i really never had problems with combat in FCOM and i play a light armor stealth type. and at medium levels you can wade through swaths of enemies without breaking a sweat. TIE makes you take alot more damage and you have to pick your fights.

for a really exciting game along with TIE i also use the FCOM durablity and damage esp which double weapon and creature damage and i also use duke patricks smash of the titans mod which gives ogres and giants a really big up in their damage. i pretty much got flattened in one hit from an ancient ogre or something big sounding, the second hit took away my last 2 hit points. by the way i was level 55.

I like what you had to say about TIE. I have just started using that mod. And like you, i like how more sparse it is. I also like how difficulkt the combat is now. I think i might try a couple of the mods you mentioned in your post. It sounds like they will make the game even tougher. Which is what i want.

Yes the latest T.I.E. is even more tough then previous versions. Escaping the imperial dungeon now feels tense and dangerous as a situation concerning the assasination of the Emperor should be.

The ambience is also very buetiful especially the touches to the dungeon rats. It wouldnt surprise me in time if Veritas_Secreto had the prisoners screaming to be let out as they hear the Emperor mentioning the deaths of his sons :ooo:

Great information on this thread. I believe it should be stickied.

It has no place on page 49. :D

Good work Sir. Just spent hours trawling the web for a comparison of the various overhaul mods, and this is most helpful. Still not sure whether to go with Francesco or FCOM - suspect the choice will depend on how bad I am at getting FCOM working!

I was wondering. If this thread is so searched and useful, why don't sticky it?
It would be in the first page and everybody could read it easily.
Just an idea.

I'd rather see the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1010109-list-list-of-mod-lists/ stickied, It then has most of the threads like this listed.
