Scalping

ONly if there nazis

Maybe something for the side in the civil war which wants to seperate from the Empire. "Each man under my command owes me ONE. HUNDRED. Legionary scalps. And I want my scalps!"

Ok serious mode now. Wouldn't a head make more sense? If you were sent to kill a insanly powerful bandit/necromancer/whatever and bring back his scalp, couldn't you technically just kill a random person, bring back their scalp, then lie?

Sure, why not. Not my personal cup of absinth as a good character, but each to his own I guess. Could work similar to skinning an animal (please don't suggest skinning a humanoid :D), and could be a barbaric thing a local tribe does.

Blah, totally un-necessary to make the game fun in my view - but it could be done without 10-tones of gore and be made to work well I think.

... not that I would be taking any scalps, but I suspect if they did add such a mechanic, it would Not be nearly as bloody/gross as the actual event.

I like how the question is "do you think that will fit into the barbaric nature of the game" and an answer is "No, thats barbaric." . So that means your saying yes, because its barbaric, but then your saying no. hmmm

I'm with the other guy, why bring back a scalp when you can bring back a whole head!

Scalping? Nah. I'd rather kick their teeth out and string them together as nice gift for someone. Or just cut of their whole head. But I don't want to be able to do it with every enemy. I mean "yay, I cut the scalp of an innocent peasant... woohoo.."

Could be good if done right. In a series of books I read townsmen scalped the barbarians because they hate the barbarians. These bounty hunters get paid by the mayors of the towns, and they like to sew the scalps together as trophies.

Not really sure if it's necessary/fits in the TES world though.

It could be a perk like in fallout, when reaching the "barbarian of uber doom" perk you can choose to loot various body parts.

There should also be an option to put the heads on spikes.

Because nothing says "obey me" like a bloody head on a fence post. :bunny:
