The Neck (or n?kken) could really make a cool monster. In Norwegian Folklore it used to lure kids into the water and then pull them down into the water.

I've always thought Kraken's are awesome, but I'm not sure how they could be implemented since they're so big and major, and it's not like you're ever really swimming in the game.
I guess it could be a boss-type creature, perhaps rauaging a seaside town, but I doubt Bethesda would bother working on a creature that only appears once.

I think Alduin is the representation or based of the World Serpent.

Dragon, serpent/snakes, and worms are sometimes interchangeable terms in mythology.

Also a quest based off how Thor dressed up in ladie's clothes to get his Mjolnr(hammer) back from the Jotun(frost giants).

All the Scandinavians (myself included) are getting a giant boner about the Nords probably resembling, well, Nords. I hope they won't draw too much from the mythology but rather from the Sagas, most of which are thoroughly awesome. My favourite is Egils saga, which features awesome depictions of brutality :)

I imagine Alduin draws maybe some inspiration from J?rmungandr (if only in the fact that they are both giant neon signs saying "THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END")

Skyrim isn't Scandinavia. I hope.

It isn't Scandinavia, but it ressemles Scandinavia and it's past. You know... Vikings, plunder, cold etc.

Yeah, it's cold. Name another actual similarity besides the aesthetics of longboats and pointy helmets. Can you do it?

Oh, and Sovengard. But that's just lazy fan service.

Let's see... We have the physical apperance, both inhabitants have evolved from their enviroment. We also have the savage-side. The early Scandinavian's plundered and murdered, I see that in the Nords aswell. Nord in Norwegian means North, I don't see how that fits, but just brought it along, anyways :)

And... Scandinavia is more like Skyrim than, let's say, Uganda or China. Don't you think? :P

Exactly what I fear. I hope they would would try to be a bit more original instead of repeating the million-times-seen viking setup. I'm sick of it.

God idé, fellow norseman!

I doubt we would see the specific Fenris Wolf, for example, but i would love if they used references from the norwegian/scandinavian/norse folklore. Just imagine venturing into a forlorn ruin and fighting of legendary beast for the ultimate artifact.
