SCAR-Spectral Combat Assault & Recon

Ethan stopped, and observed the room they were in. There were two more choices; two more hallways. Andrew walked over to a single cupboard, and opened it out of curiosity. He quickly shut it, and warned the others not to look inside. But that didn't stop the others. Ethan chose not to view the assumable awful sight.

After a small amount of thinking, Andrew came to a decision, and ordered the group through the upper hallway. Ethan was behind. As they marched down the hall, Ethan could hear the sound of something dripping, but he shook it off not seeing any liquid. He watched as Andrew turned around, and looked above him. Blood had fallen from the ceiling.

Ethan saw that his comrades were unable to move, figuring this because they all stopped. He tried to raise his arm, but was stopped halfway through the action. He could no longer.

"Bear, can you use your telekinesis to force us to move?" Claire asked Bear.

Ethan frowned, and tried to move, focusing all his energy into it. Since it was delayed for him getting frozen, he figured out what was different. The silver on his body weakened the force. Slowly, he moved his hand to his sword, and grasped the blade. He waited to see if Bear could use his powers to allow movement to the group.

If for some reason he couldn't, Ethan could move and take down whatever was attacking them. All those rumors about silver and ghosts were surprisingly true.

It was almost like suffering from tetanus, all of us locked into ingle position, unable to do anything about it. A chilling wind whipped across my face, and the feeling of free falling make my heart sink into my stomach. Having only been skydiving once, I could say I was used to it, but standing on the ground and feeling this close to terminal velocity was a surreal experience.

The dripping blood only made it worse. I could hear it dripping, but it never touched anything. The only thing that wretched noise could remind me of was a chinese water drop torture I had heard about as a child. A drop of water would fall in the exact same spot on your forehead, and would supposedly hurt the victim. This only aggravated me.

Claire's request may have seemed far-fetched in this situation, but I could definitely try. We had nothing to lose trying. My palms and wrists began to flare up a bit, a bright orange glow being drowned by the dense darkness. The glass visor on my helmet was completely distorted with a glowing red. My only hope here was to create a small, moving floor below us to manipulate.

An orange smoke fell from my hands to the floor and began to twist and curl around my feet. Traveling closer and closer to the others, I began to think and hope this would work.

"Andrew, I'm not sure what's going on or if I can even move us. This darkness was able to suppress my power. It happened more than once. Adam was able to break through it, but in the condition I am in now, it's a long shot." I said through my gritted teeth, trying to keep concentration and not demolish my mental barrier.

Come on kid, I did this already no problem. Don't tell me you need my help already.

((OOC: Too impatient to PM and wait fro a response from Andy. He can choose whether or not this works.))

Listening to Bear I took a quick breath and stared ahead, waiting to see what would happen, I felt pressure falling across my body but still; nothing. "Bear, I don't think it'll..." Suddenly, my leg twitched, again, and then once more. Hearing muffled twitchings and movings from everyone else I guessed that it was Bear's power. He was doing it! I felt a small grin come to my face as my leg started to get ready to move a step forward, while the ground moved in a fashion that would help us.

Suddenly, all the lights flickered out of existence and my leg stopped twitching, but it was almost like the pressure had been lifted... Strange. I moved my leg a little and it bent to my will, I realised that Bear must've sent a surge of some kind to help us, whether it was Bear's determination or Adam's help I couldn't tell. Taking a quick breath I turned and looked at the others, they all had sheer looks of terror as I looked upon them in the darkness.

With a quick start I realised most of the others couldn't see a thing, cursing lightly I brought my hand to my flash light, clicking the button it. Nothing. Turning again I looked ahead of us, standing about 3 metres away from me was the little boy again. He gave a small grin and started walking forward, the footsteps echoed off of the walls, bouncing into our ears. With a sheer look of terror I stepped backwards, Darius who was just to my right and a little ahead moved back with me.

I put my hand on his shoulder and yanked him back behind me, he quickly obliged because of the steps he could obviously hear. The boy took another step and then burst into flames, licking the walls they creeped up to the roof and I quickly yelled, "Oh [censored]! Bear! You didn't mention anything about THIS!" I quickly took another step back and bumped straight into Claire. As I stumbled back I heard a scream from the child, it echoed in my ear drums and forced me to close my eyes and bring my hands to my ears.

After a split second it was cut off, in the place of the child was a pool of blood, seeping to the sides of the walls and sitting there. The lights flickered back into existence, after taking a few breaths I quietly muttered, "I don't know if I can take much more of this [censored]." Turning to look at the others I quickly motioned forwards, "Okay, that's it, everyone get behind me and move quickly and quietly." They all obliged and we moved up through the hallway at a light jog.

Getting into a small room that was pretty much empty I noticed another hallway, moving towards it I heard whispers echo around us. With a few blinks I saw a small white light appear in front of the hall, turning I noticed another light in front of the hallway behind us. Turning slowly I took a short breath and suddenly felt a high need to get the [censored] out of there.

Edit1: OOC: Guys, a heads up, you ARE allowed to add your own ambushes and things like that. If you want to notice that there is blood running down the walls when I didn't state it go ahead, you CAN add things in that YOU want!

Claire's wall was teetering on the edge of collapse now as she remembered what Bear had said earlier, "Some things are meant to stay unseen." She could no longer feel the emotions of the apparition of the child. Now a new feeling was starting to seep through the cracks in the wall. It was a feeling of ravenous hunger backed by an intense hatred. It continued to crash against her wall, threatening to topple it.

At first Claire thought her eyes were playing tricks on her as the air started to shimmer and a layer of darkness began to cover the floor.

"Something is coming!" Her voice was raised and sounded scared. Claire was starting to lose control. She drew her pistols and stood behind her brother waiting for what would happen next and trying to keep her emotions under control. Forms started to materialize from the walls and shapes began to rise out of the darkness covering the floor. The shapes from the floor materialized into men and began to advance slowly toward the group. Their eyes appeared dead and they had their arms outstretched towards the group. Claire instinctively reached for the crowbar and threw it with all her might at one of the men. The crowbar hit the man in the head and the sound of metal clanging against metal echoed though out the room.

The rest of the shapes had now fully materialized. In front of either hallway appeared two ghostly apparitions. They had no discernible shape to them and appeared to be made of shadow. The other two creatures materialized on the walls on either side of the group.. The were large grotesque creatures. They had no skin, their body was a mass of muscles and tendons. Their brains were visible and covered the eyes. Their mouths were filled with razor sharp teeth and a long tongue protruded from it whipping around in the air like a whip. Their feet and hands ended in long sharp claws and they were on all fours. The creatures started to run up the walls and onto the ceiling in preparation for their attack.

Claire reacted completely on instinct, and started firing at one of the men Because she had already started going low and sideways she missed her intended target, the bullets instead hitting the ghost that was blocking the exit. The ghost exploded with a bust of electro magnetic energy. A look of surprise appeared on her face and she thought about reading the note from before at her earliest convenience.

Claire slid across the floor into the wall and the wall in her mind came crumbling down. She was able to feel every emotion in the room. The most powerful of which was coming from the creature on the ceiling above her. The creatures tongue was moving towards her and the feeling of hunger started to consume Claire. She felt her eyes blacken and the curse overtake her. The emotion poured through her and she stared at the creature. The creature staring at her and didn't move. She could feel the creatures emotions as her own now and a new sensation as well. In some way she had been empathically linked with it.

Claire sat on the floor and stared at the creature, oblivious to the fighting around her. The creature was starting to become one with her. They were sharing each other's feelings. Neither were moving and regarded each other with a sort of curiosity.

Darius was shocked at the child turning up again, he had been pushed back by Andrew, what was the significance of child? Darius followed Andrew into the room who had taken lead after the recent events. Darius readied his pistol and gripped it tightly. Darius watched in horror as the apparitions appeared before their eyes.

One of the shades tried to attack Darius, which he answered with firing three rounds into. Darius looked as the ghost phased out, yet phased in again somewhere else in the room and came at him again, Darius fired the rest of his pistol's magazine in desperation, again watching it fade out and reappear. "Lord protect us," Darius muttered, and loaded a new magazine into his pistol, Darius realized that was all the spare ammo he had, yet what seemed to be taunting, was that he still had two mags for his assualt rifle, which are of no use to him at this time.

Darius looked up from reloading his pistol, only to be stared face to face with the ghost, it's eyes were hollow, it's mouth wider then any human could, and looked like it was giving out a silent scream of pain. The ghost reared back and then went through Darius, which came out behind him. Darius dropped to the floor as he felt a coldness grip him, Darius felt his heart pounding, he felt weaker, but he tried to push himself back up, look around the ghost had gone, yet Darius had no idea where. He looked at the others, claire seemingly looking at one of the grotesque creatures, Darius pulled his pistol up, ready to shoot at anything else which attacked.

Hey guys, this is technically not an IC post nor an OOC... Rather, an update! A Beastiary to be exact, as well as some... Ah, just read all of it.

Beastiary:

Lickers:

They have large grotesque figures. With no skin, they're massive muscles and tendons are really quite visible. Their brains are visible and cover the eyes. Their mouths are filled with razor sharp teeth and a long tongue protrudes from it whipping around in the air like a whip. Their feet and hands ended in long sharp claws and are thus on all fours. The creatures are able to climb walls and use them to get an edge on their enemies.

Killing them isn't easy, but they sure as hell can kill you. With their tongues they can quite easily choke you, whip you or just plain cut your skin. Bullets are a quick cure to their lives, as are very sharp pointy objects.

Shadows:

These things are only described as dark moving masses that can kill you easily. They have no average figure as the shadows differ between who's shadow it is. They normally travel in pairs and are very likely to be angered massively if you kill it's other half. With lighting reflexes they'll dodge most things thrown at them.

They'll generally just rush up to you and proceed to tear off your face... So... Ahh, be careful.

Ghosts:

Can only be seen by Ethan until they attack; in which case it's probably a little late. Sometimes ghosts will be very visible as they've been stained with radiation. These are known as Will 'o' The Wisps. Both forms of ghost are very powerful and have a simple attack.

They'll just rush at you and proceed to enter your very soul, then tear it apart as best they can. As soon as they enter you they pretty much die.

Soldiers:

These are the bread and butter of the army's of darkness down in the 'Facility'. They pretty much just look like normal humans, but they have obvious things different about them. Their eyes are pretty much dead and they move slowly and in a mechanical way.

They carry around SMG's, Assault Rifles, Shotguns and rarely, experimental beam weapons. Picking up these weapons is useless as they only work in mechanical hands.

Facility Defenses:

General heavy turrets and occasional things like Protectrons and Sentry Bots. Controlled from a main Server some place in the Facility, finding that Server would be a massive boost to our firepower.

John:

You've met this little terror before; he is the small child that has plagued us a few times now. He has some very interestng abilities, such as electromagnetic pulses, ability to liquidate people and to summon Shadows. Most of his other abilities are just for scare and don't do anything.

He's pretty much a failed experiment, most would say how the hell he failed... Well... He fell behind in extensive testing, found out to be weaker than they wanted. They set to work immediately to create the next creature and threw John away. He got his revenge though...

????:

The final thing in the Facility, no one knows whether it's Male, Female or maybe even a ghost. All that's known for now, is that it controls EVERYTHING inside the Facility and outside it's walls that left them. Fear it, because it will kill you if you can probably get far enough to meet it.

Updated Rules:

1- Double posts are ALLOWED, but not advised, only to be used when necessary. Such as when you post, expecting someone to reply, but they go offline. Instead of standing there looking like an idiot you think of something better to do.

2- You are allowed to make things up like ambushes, this is supposed to be as OPEN as it can be. Make up you see blood dripping from the roof, ghosts flitting in and out of your sight. Halleucinations are a great idea by the way.

3- The above Beastiary is not all completly known to your characters, just mainly to let you know what to figure out. The name of John will not be known until he starts talking to us... No, the voices in my head aren't John.

4- Voices in your head are also a good idea, this place is haunted to the max guys. You will all be nigh on crazy by the bottom, scared, you will all want to go home. Don't be afraid to sound like a complete loon!

5- PM me about any questions that you may have.

6- Have fun!

On maps:

I may not always have times to make up maps, but I'll do my best to make them up in Paint. They're not the best I could do but I rush them and make them in less than 10 minutes so...

On that essence, if you see things that look like little rooms inside the places where we're at... PM me if you want to actually look in there, make sure you WILL look in there though, because when I reply I'll tell you what's in there. Exploring every room can sometimes be good...

Sometimes result in an ambush, when I PM you back, if you don't want to actually explore the room DO NOT open the PM. Send me a new one saying you don't wish to do it anymore. DON'T look at the PM if you aren't sure, because if you do and don't post going into the room I will give you a warning.

On that note; three warnings and your out, this is also the only general way to get a warning.

That's all from me guys! Peace out and keep posting! ;)

OOC: You won't know all this stuff about the creatures straight away of course, but it's to help YOU understand what's going on.

---------

IC:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cursing loudly I looked around at the carnage that had obviously just started up, pulling out my single pistol from it's holster I took aim at a soldier. He was holding a kind of rifle, aiming it at Ethan, with a roar I felt everything around me start to go extremely slow. I used my one and only advantage over everyone else normal, the ability to slow everything else to a crawl while I saw it all. Taking my aim carefully I lined up the top of the small firearm with it's head.

Pulling the trigger I felt the force of the kickback over a longer time, which actually managed to let me realise how much force was in the small thing. Watching the bullet speed it's way towards the thing it made contact with the helmet; making it go flying off and into a wall. The inner circuits of the thing were now visible, it had a kind of human flesh, like an android, but it's expression was robotic. Neutral to the core it just stared at me for a split second.

It brought up it's rifle and I pulled the trigger again, watching the second bullet fly it made contact with the thing head. Blood sprayed from the back of it's head and stained the wall behind it; so, they had some characteristics of humans. With a grin I aimed at a shadowy thing that was moving towards Bear, with another pull of the trigger the bullet passed straight through it, but it's whole body shivered. With two more well placed shots I'd distracted it from Bear.

It turned to me though and screamed, causing everything else in the room to wince for a second, it rushed straight towards me. Flashing out seven more shots into the thing I pulled the trigger again, realising the clip was empty. It was a mere metre away from me so I smashed it in the face with the back of the small metal pistol. It flinched back in a stunned manner, roaring I jumped after it and continued hitting it with the pistol. Of course, by now, I couldn't keep up my power any longer.

After I finished bludgeoning the thing to death it dissapeared in a daze, obviously into another dimension. With a quick breath I dropped out the magazine already in my pistol, putting in the second one. I realised I only had one clip left, so I just put on a determined look and took a quick scan around the room. By now everyone was fighting, whether it be with hands, gun or psychic abilities, everyone was fighting.

Except for Claire.

Dax shook his shoulders and stretched his arms as the lock on his movements disappeared. He was sweating, and a glazed look had taken over his eyes.
That was fake...I could've moved the whole time! But I didn't...
His thoughts became more and more erratic, and his body started to hunch progressively as the group made their way down the hall.
The little boy that suddenly appeared in front of them triggered Dax to retreat to the back and raise his gun with an uncertain hand.
Fake, fake, fake...or is it? Is this another trick? Making me think it's fake when it isn't? WHAT'S GOING ON?!
He yelled in his head, the chaos around him soon erupting as ungodly figures stumbled towards the group.
He shut his eyes tight, a massive headache burdening him, then suddenly growled like an animal.
The bridge between his mind and his physical abilities finally snapped together, and he could feel the psychic energy washing over his muscles and tendons, tightening them to the point of being almost superhuman.
With a wile yell he lunged at one of the creatures, ripping it apart with his arms and bludgeoning it with the handle of his gun.
Won't...get...me

OOC: Haha, Lickers from Resident Evil. :D

Ann quickly followed the others as they went down the next hall. Each step she took began to feel heavier, at first she thought she was playing tricks on herself, but soon the whole group was frozen in place. A tinge of fear poked at Ann, they were vulnerable to attack. She tried with all her strength to move her fingers, but they would budge.

Bear then began to use his telekinetic energy to move the group. As the orange smoke embraced the group, Ann could feel movement begin to return, then the smoke faded. The rush of being able to control her body again made Ann wobble. She put her hand to the wall to catch herself, it was greeted by an unknown liquid. Ann shone her torch light on it for a moment, then away. The whole wall was oozing blood; Ann closed her eyes, trying not to gag.

Before she knew it the rest of the group was moving again, only to stop as they were ambushed by creatures Ann had never seen before. The room began to fill with shouts, gunfire, and weapons clanging. Ann instinctively reached for her gun, but soon realized it was gone. Ann caught a glimpse Claire throwing something metal, it clanged off one of the attacker's head. Ann needed a weapon, and the crowbar was the only thing available. With a loud yell Ann ran for it, tackling a human-like enemy to the ground when it got in her way.

Now with the crowbar in hand Ann felt a small sense of comfort, she was armed now. That feeling was quickly crushed as a ghost entered inside her. It began tearing at her very soul, her world turned dark. Ann felt powerless, that was until the ghost tried to tap into her psychic power, the rush of energy vanquished the ghost. Snapping back to reality Ann noticed a long tongued beast was staring at Claire, as she did the same to it. She charged at it, jumping at it as she swung with the crowbar. The creature rolled and howled into the corner, Ann let her step get some bounce as she charged it for a kill shot. She forgot about the tongue though, it snaked it's way around her ankle and tripped her up. As the air left Ann's lungs she let out a small gasp. The crowbar hit the floor and slid away from her.

Ann tried to yell, "Help!" but no air backed her words.

Several shadows began to slowly gravitate towards me, spiraling around my body. At first sight, the rest of the group would see them as attacking. In reality, the shadows were being svcked inside of me, absorbed just like the rest. Two separate shadows disappeared in a bright flash, removed from existence. The carnage around me was beginning to tug at my emotions.

Ann had been getting dragged away by a licker, Claire was completely oblivious to an approaching spirit, and Andrew was struggling to keep the rest of the group safe. The blue light flared up from my palms once more, the red visor switching to an ambient blue. The liquid reanimated itself in front of Claire, blocking her from the spirit. The wall wouldn't hold for long.

"Christ Claire, move out of the way! Attack it! Get near Andrew, anything!" I yelled over the gunfire.

My concentration was being broken as my heartbeat raised. I began to breath heavily and quickly, checking back at my other squad mate being dragged away. A hissing breath began to escape from her lungs.

"Andrew, help her! Do something! Not again!" I said, eyes widening. The glowing blue visor became brighter as my eyes opened.

Keep calm. Stay concentrated. We've been through this before.

Watching Claire and then Ann I took a quick breath, Claire's eyes were still locked with the things eyes... Suddenly, it dropped Ann and continued to watch Claire, Ann quickly rolled and picked up the weapon, then proceeded to bludgeon the thing in the head once. It's brains flew back onto the ground and it fell, dead. With a quick breath I looked around the rest of the room, things were starting to wrap up, with Ethan swinging his sword left and right I guessed ghosts were around.

Bear was quite obviously tired and not expecting this, it seemed the things had decided that changing was a good idea. Adam now probably didn't remember exactly what was down here and he had never made it to the bottom... With a quick shudder I raised my pistol again, aiming at the robotic soldiers, taking four shots I managed to take out another one. While the other two fell to gunfire and a little psychic help from Bear. Taking a quick breath I looked at my arms.

They were almost pulsating with a strange energy, I realised it must've been my overusage of my power. Suddenly I felt all my energy leave my limbs and I fell to the ground in a crumpled heap, I still heard yells so I guessed the fighting was still going on. After a few seconds I heard the clatter of something on the ground and a lack of noise in the room. Looking up I saw Claire with a look on her face, utter destruction etched into her eyes, they weren't violet...

They were pure black, her pistols were lying on the ground where she'd dropped them and she was staring at Ann. I turned to look at the others, Dax was busy muttering things to himself, Ethan was sheating his broadsword, Bear was leaning against a wall and one other had his back on me. Ann was still on the ground in the place in front of the thing's corpse. She was watching Claire with an eye that I didn't like, but Claire's eyes were much worse.

I took a short breath, "Claire? Claire? Answer me." With no response I tried to rise but I couldn't find the energy in my limbs. I fell back to the floor with a small gust of pain through my legs, wincing I watched the minor stand-off between the two...

It won't be minor for long...

The pain tore through Claire's body. She felt as though a part of her very soul had been ripped away. She had somehow joined with the licker and their emotions were as one. When the licker died by Ann's hand, the person known as Claire was replaced by all that had been the creature. The hunger and hatred belonged completely to her. And that hatred was now being directed towards Ann.

Claire rolled onto her stomach, and pushed herself up on all fours. She glared at Ann through the pools of blackness which had replaced her eyes. There was only one emotion left now. Rage. Rage for the pain caused to Claire by the death of the licker. Claire opened her mouth and a hissing sound escaped. She was moving around now, creeping towards Ann.

"Claire? Claire? Answer me." She could hear the words but the voice seemed to be coming form a great distance. There was nothing in the voice that sounded familiar. Claire had completely lost any sense of who she was and all that remained were the primal urges of the licker.

Claire inched closer to Ann, foam and drool were coming out of her mouth. She tightened up her leg muscles and, screaming in rage, launched herself at Ann.

OOC: Long post ahead.

Not to her surprise no one heard Ann. They were all in battle, and she could hardly even whisper. She would need to take care of herself, like she had done for so many years. A surge of adrenaline came over Ann as she was pulled closer to the Licker. She quickly found its weak spot, it was obvious now, the tongue. She put both hands on it and pulled apart, watching as the muscles and nerves stretched to their breaking point. A slimy tearing sound came out as the tongue tore in half. Ann quickly tossed the part in her hand and rolled over to the crowbar, determined to end the ugly creations sad life. It was now powerless with half a tongue and some seriously damaged organs. It took on clean swing to its head for it to be finished. As the adrenaline wore off Ann's breath began to grow heavy.

"I thought I was licked for a moment," she joked to the others, letting a small smile come across her.

Everyone else had finished their foe off, and Andrew lie on the floor from exhaustion. A hissing noise came from behind Ann, she clutched the crowbar tighter, ready to fight the Licker one more time. When she turned around she noticed the Licker was still dead, but Claire had changed. Her eyes had turned completely black and she was on all fours, much like the Licker. The two dark spheres that were now Claire's eyes were almost burning holes into Ann.

"Easy Claire, its dead," Ann said shakily.

Ann wasn't sure what would happen next, Claire wasn't listening to anyone, not even her brother. To be safe Ann tossed the crowbar to the side, so she wouldn't be tempted to use it if a brawl broke out. Foam and drool started to form in Claire's mouth. Ann tried to match Claire's stare, to comfort herself more than anything. Then Claire lunged at her.

"Oh no..." Ann muttered before being knocked into a wall by Claire.

Ann's Assault Armor took most of the blow, but Claire followed up with slash attacks that deflected off her armor. One slash came across her right cheek though, Ann winced then fought back. She jabbed her fist hard into Claire's stomach to get her away. Claire crumpled to the floor, still hissing in a sickly tone.

Ann shouted, "Claire stop!"

Claire hissed back and took advantage of Ann not following up with more blows. Claire leapt at Ann, but Ann was ready this time. As Claire soared at her, Ann ducked under her first swipe and reached her arms around Claire's opposite arm. Pulling hard as she twisted herself and Claire to the ground, next she wrapped her legs around Claire's other arm. With Claire's arms spread apart and her back ontop of Ann's hips she could restrain her easily, and apply more pressure to her back and arms by twisting her hips more. Claire kept flailing her free legs trying to break free, but Ann had a tight grip on her. Beads of sweat began to form as Ann held tight. She lie on the floor staring at the corpse of the dead licker, while Claire was forced to look at her brother Andrew.

Ann quickly spat, "Talk to her Andrew!"

Mustering all my energy I spat blood onto the ground and quickly moved my palms to the ground. I lifted myself up onto my knees, then quickly to my feet. Shaking slightly I watched as Ann and Claire flew across the ground in a tangled heap, as soon as Ann yelled, "Talk to her Andrew!" I quickly mustered as much as I could into my voice. I limped over to them and noticed the hold that they were in, at this rate they were seriously going to hurt each other.

Taking a quick breath I said, "Hermanita, Claire, stop this, now. You can DO this, you can take control of your mind in here, I know you can! Just do it, please, hermanita, for me." I looked into her eyes as they locked onto mine, they had a different edge to them now, I couldn't tell whether she was getting ready to hurt Ann, me or just calm down. I looked into her eyes and let a pleading edge crawl into mine, "Please, hermanita."

Turning slightly I looked at the others, Bear was stunned into his position, Dax had a sort of look on his face as though he was considering what to do. Ethan was staring at Claire and Ann while the other man was just glaring at all of us one by one. Turning to look into Claire's eyes again I felt a tear come down, "Hermanita, if you can't understand what will happen if you don't stop, you know what we'll have to do to you. Then we'll move on without you."

Claire contiued to struggle against Ann. Ann was stronger than she was and, Claire couldn't move. She continued to struggle, hissing ans screaming in rage. Andrew was standing before her and she looked at him with hatred.

"Hermanita, Claire, stop this, now. You can DO this, you can take control of your mind in here, I know you can! Just do it, please, hermanita, for me" Andrew was looking into Claire's eyes and speaking softly. "Please, hemanita."

Andrew's voice stirred something in her. She could feel the urge to kill starting to diminish. Claire was still hissing but was starting to gain a little control of herself. She culd remember hwere she was. Images flashed in her mind. Images of the people she was with. Images of her brother. She could remember the licker clearly now and the connection she had made with it.

"Hermanita, if you can't understand what will happen if you don't stop, you know what we'll have to do to you. Then we'll move on without you." Andrew was speaking to her again. The sound of his voice this time, caused her to stop struggling. Her body went limp for a moment, and then she let out a blood curdling scream. The screamed echoed throughout the room and when she became silent, her body convulsed and vomit sprayed out of her mouth. Claire went limp again and started to cry, words were mixed in with her sobs.

"Lo siento hermano. I'm sorry...i'm so sorry."

She now remembered lunging for Ann, intent on killing her.

"I'm sorry Ann. It wasn't me." She was still sobbing but her eyes were beginning to turn back to their normal colour.

Ann released her grip and Claire wrapped her arms around her brother and held him tightly, trying to reassemble her wall, which was now nothing more than a pile of dust in her mind

Micheal was in the back of the group, busy tring to make sense of what was happening, at the expense of the carnage going on around him. He thought, "This place is cursed, and like fools, we walked right into it." Micheal then looked on as Andrew and Ann tried to stop a possessed Claire and thought, "I'm an illusionist, not a healer. I'm a piece of useless dead weight." Suddenly, Micheal felt a pain in his head and dropped to the ground. He turned aroud only to see another ghost appear. This one, however, reminded him more of a Glowing One.

The ghost lunged at Micheal, whose powers were usless against the incorpeal. Micheal was then pinned to the floor as the ghost entered his body and tried to destroy his soul. Micheal yelled, "I could really use some help here!"

Embracing Claire I heard a small moving noise behind me, turning my head slightly I looked behind me and saw a glowing ghost rush towards Michael. He yelled out, "I could really use some help here!" as the ghost entered his body. With a muttered curse I looked at Ethan who just seemed to be staring at Michael, with a small gasp I saw the ghost get drawn almost out of his body. With a hiss the ghost dissapeared into the floor and out of view.

Blinking a few times I looked at Claire, she looked devestated, her eyes were violet again and she was close to sobbing. I didn't know if she could stay standing if I let her go so I just kept holding onto her, just for the moment. I heard footsteps as people obviously moved towards Michael, hearing muttered whispering and a few words I gathered that they were asking if he was alright. With a few short breaths I looked into Claire's eyes, she was guessing what I meant and just nodded.

I let go of her and she managed to stay standing on wobbly legs, with a look of concern I looked into her eyes again. She bit her lip and nodded once more, turning I walked over to Michael, kneeling I looked at him, "Well, looks like your alright for now... For now, anyway, I think it's time we moved on," I muttered to him and the others. I extended my arm out to Michael, he took it and I helped him up as I moved up from my haunches.

Looking through the door I noticed that the white light was gone, looking through the door we came in through I noticed the light was still there. With a muttered curse I looked on the wall, there was blood all over it and it was in the shape of a small http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt292/Francois_Lachon/ThirdmapforRP.jpg Looking at it closely I realised that where we were looked like the smaller room. Shrugging my shoulders I betted on it being close enough to right.

Turning around I coughed lightly, "Well, time to move on I guess guys."

OOC: It's good to see mctagg put something in, yet it was kinda the wrong time... Sorry if I stuffed up any ideas, I've given you guys oppurtunities for ambushes and none have been taken... Except by Naz, although mctagg did well.

Another quick note: This is a free rein RP, post more guys, don't be shy and post whenever you can and as often as you can. It's only a few people posting, make up your own tails, if this continues I'll have to split up the group. :stare:

Darius took a few moments breather, the spirit going through him had taken it's toll, why hadn't it decided to stay? Darius wondered, it did with the others it attacked. Darius pulled the mag out of his handgun to see how many rounds he had left, not many, soon it would be more useful to use it like a club.

Darius nodded as Andrew told them to move out, he moved to the front, taking point. Keeping his pistol raised, Darius moved into the next room, only to be greeted by a corpse pinned to the wall, three nails driven through, one in each wrist and another straight through the head. It's mouth wide open, and just deep pools darkness, yet they seemed to still be looking at you. The corpse's stomach had been slit open, it's guts looking ready to fall out, and at the base on the floor a pool of blod where it had flowed down the wall.

Darius was repulsed by this, no idea who the man was, but hanging there, rotting. Suddenly a surge of pain went through Darius' mind, he placed his hand to his head, the pain quickly subsided, looking back up the corpse had gone, leaving only the blood and a black outline of it on the wall, "What in gods name?" Darius muttered to himself.

((OOC: :ahhh: I missed a lot of stuff O_O))

IC

Ethan watched the battle unfold, and he did his best to fight along. Swinging his sword, he took out a couple of the monsters; but it was nothing special at the time. As the small battle went on, he watched a ghost come up from behind Michael, going into his body. Michael called for help, and showed signs of struggle. Ethan was too late, and he didn't know if he could do anything. He simply stared blankly at what was going on, still fearing any type of responsibility.

The spirit left his body, and disappeared into the ground with a sickening hiss. Ethan hung his head in shame, wishing he would have at least tried. But Micheal was still okay, and hopefully he would have another chance at saving someone from a ghost.

He frowned, as he looked up to a blood-splattered wall. A map was formed, showing two rooms; one significantly smaller than the other. Andrew studied the map, until deciding what to do next. Since they only had one way to go, the choice was obvious.

The group started their way to the next room, when Ethan noticed something following the group. The small Molerat scurried up to Ethan, who stopped and let the group go ahead of him. He stared at the Molerat, until putting his hand down to it. Instead of going through, his hand made contact with the little creature. Ethan smiled, and picked it up; putting it in his pack. It's head was sticking out of the backpack flap.

'Now how did you get down here?' Ethan thought to himself.

He looked up from the small animal's ghost, and realized he was lagging behind. He quickly caught up, no one seemed to notice.

Claire had to force herself to stand after her brother let her go. She was still exhausted from the whole ordeal and was having a hard time rebuilding her wall. She had stopped crying and walked over to pick up her pistols. She could feel the emotions of the others in the room now and was struggling with her wall. One of the pistols she put back in it's holster. She walked back over to Ann and held the other pistol out towards her.

"Thank you for helping me." Claire was smiling but a single tear rolled down her cheek. "I can never express to you how sorry I am for what happened, but I hope this will help." She nodded her head at the gun in her hand. "Take it. It's the least I can do."

She turned away form Ann and followed her brother and the rest of the group down the hallway which opened up into a large room. The far side of the room had a window which looked into some kind of office. In one corner of the room there was what looked to be another cupboard. Without a thought Claire headed for the cupboard and braced herself for what lay inside. She drew her pistol and opened the door. Claire still hadn't fully rebuilt her wall and she smiled widely at what she saw. Sitting on the floor was a metal box with a red cross on it. She paid no attention to the other items scattered on the floor and knelt down to open the box. She became very happy when she saw what was inside. The box was indeed a first-aid kit and was pretty well stocked with supplies. She removed the small med kit from her belt and put the bandages in the box.

It was then that she noticed the light reflecting on the metal objects on the floor. Claire was far too preoccupied with the first-aid kit to notice the items laying on the floor. She immediately reached for one of the items. It was familiar to her and she was ready to burst for having it back now.

"Hey guys!! You need to see this." She unsheathed the sword she had retreived form the pile of weapons on the floor and the silver blade glinted in the light. She looked around for her other sword but couldn't see it. There were various assault rifles and other weaponry on the floor.

At least they had some of their weapons back

OOC: Francois has told me that everybody gets one weapon back.

Well, that's a surprise, weapons! Moving straight after Claire I felt a presence around us, looking at a room with a glass window just a little higher in my eye level view I saw a shadow. It was standing in front of something, but I couldn't make out what it was, I blinked and it dissapeared from my view. Strange... Moving towards the cupboard I saw Claire kneeling, admiring her sword. With a grin I put my hand on her shoulder, "Well, at least you managed to get a blade back."

She looked at me and gave a small smile, she looked a little better but she obviously couldn't stay like this. With a sigh I moved in beside her and wandered my eyes across the weapons, my eyes quickly rested upon my assault rifle. Picking it up quickly I let out a breath of relief, it still had a clip in it which was good. I quickly clicked the clip out and looked into it, seeing that all the bullets were still in there I nodded to myself and shoved the clip back in.

I didn't draw the rifle though, leaving that so I couldn't committ friendly fire, that wouldn't go down well down here. Getting back off my haunches I looked at the others and grinned, "Looks like we might get a weapon each back! I didn't expect this," I gave a small insight thought as to why we'd find our weapons again so quickly. Even if they were only one of our primary weapons each...

Well, what's the fun in hooking you up with battles like that one all the time? Oh no, I want to have fun with you lot; maybe even as much as I had with the first lot that came down here... I heard laughter continue eminating through my head, gritting my teeth I took a short breath. Looking at Ethan I scratched my chin, "Ethan, would you care to check out that office? Claire, you go in after him too, when your finished playing with your sword of course. Oh and of course you can get your weapons Ethan, I don't have to be psychic to know you'll want to do that."

((OOC: This feels to me like a weird post. I'm super tired, so I'm probably typing stuff out differently...))

IC

Ethan smiled, when he grabbed his rifle from the weapons Claire was holding onto. He checked the clip, and was surprised to see his Silver Bullets loaded into the gun. He inscribed his initials in each one, so he knew they were his.

Andrew asked Ethan and Claire to check out the next room, and he happily agreed. He walked into the small office room, and looked around one half. There was a corpse in the corner, and the whole room stunk of death.

He winced, and covered his nose. He continued to look through the small room, but found nothing of importance. He turned to the window, to check up on the group, and a button next to the window caught Ethan's attention.

Ethan went up to it, and hovered his hand right above it. He was about to press down on it, when he realized what he was doing. He had no idea what could have happened. He poked his head out the door, and looked at Andrew.

"Andrew! You might want to look at this. It could be important." He said in his monotone voice.

"Andrew! You might want to look at this. It could be important." Ethan said in his monotone voice.

Claire followed her brother into the room. She was starting to gain control again, but could still feel emotions crashing into her. She feared the curse now, more than ever because of the incident eith the licker. She couldn't help thinking that it would have been better to put her out of her misery then to save the group anymore trouble.

Claire's attention was immediately caught by the computer screen glowing on the desk and the small syringe that was on top of it. She leaned over the desk and looked at the green lettering on the screen which read:

Current testing
12/09/76
14/12/76
29/03/77
23/05/77

Claire moved the mouse and cliciked on current testing. A new screen appeared with a couple of lines of text:

It's inconclusive, this drug is hereby innefective against most forms of psychic abilities. We are certain it will only affect those that have psychic abilities to do with emotions, nothing else will work. This is dubbed our biggest failure, yet if someone with this type of psychic ability could get a hold of i- [Message cut off]

Claire's eyes widened at what she read. Could it be possible that whatever was in this syringe could help her in some way? She glanced over her soldier to see her brother abd Ethan discussing a switch on the wall. Claire knew that Andrew might not let her use the syringe. He wanted to protect her and she really couldn't be sure what was in the syringe. For all she knew it could kill her instantly. Claire picked up the syringe and examined it. The liquid inside was orange and she did not recognize it. Her brother was still occupied with Ethan and the rest of the group were recoveriing the weapons that were inside the cupboard.

Claire decided to act. If the drug could help her perhaps she could have some semblance of a normal life. And if it killed her, at least she wouldn't be a burden to the group anymore. She wouldn't have time to look for a vein without the others noticing. So instead. she jabbed the needle into her hip and injected herself with the liquid. She released her hand, the syringe still hanging out of her side. She could feel an intense wave of nausea and then blackness overtook her.

Claire found herself standing in a large dark room. In the center of room was a wooden chair with a light shining down from an invisible source. Seated in the chair was a small red headed girl wearing a black dress. Claire couldn't see the girls face because her head was lowered into her hands.

"Hello?" Claire called out to the girl but she didn't move. "Are you okay?" Claire's voice was concerned and she began to approach the girl. "I'm not going to hurt you." Claire put her hand on the girl's shoulder.

As soon as Claire touched her, the girl looked up at Claire revealing a pair of violet eyes. Claire gasped and stubled backwards, falling into an abyss of darkness. A voice was in the air around her repeating the words "Wake up, Wake up..."

"Wake up!! Wake up Claire!!" Claire opened her eyes and looked at her brother, he had a concened look on his face.

Quickly moving into the small office room I looked at Ethan, he was standing in front of a small button. I had a quick look at it and looked at Ethan, he quickly said, "Well, I don't know what it might do, should we try it out?" I scratched my chin in thought,
"Well, it's a risk that we're going to have to take I guess... Who's going to do the honors?" I muttered to him. He just looked at me with his blank eyes and I looked into them.

All of a sudden I heard a small thumping sound on the floor, I turned around and noticed a small desk with a terminal on it. There was a small amount of words displayed on the screen and a very interesting body in the corner of my eye. What really drew my view though was my sister, laying on the ground with a syringe in her hand. With my eyes blinking I just looked at her, then quickly fell to my knees, putting two fingers upon her neck I felt her heart beat which was just about normal.

Interestingly enough, she was still alive, I quickly stood up and looked at the words on the screen:

It's inconclusive, this drug is hereby innefective against most forms of psychic abilities. We are certain it will only affect those that have psychic abilities to do with emotions, nothing else will work. This is dubbed our biggest failure, yet if someone with this type of psychic ability could get a hold of i- [Message cut off]

I quickly clicked on the [back] button and saw the original list again, with a small exception:

Current testing
12/09/76
14/12/76
29/03/77
23/05/77

The colours were a little more faded and the Current Testing was in blue... Shrugging I clicked on 23/05/77 which was obviously the most recent one. Suddenly a small amount of text appeared on the screen in blood red letters:

THIS IS IT, THE THINGS HAVE ALL ESCAPED, THEY'RE KILLING EVERYONE... THEIRS NOTHING WE COULD DO, WE'VE MANAGED TO GET SOME OF OUR EXPERIMENTAL DRUGS OUT OF THE TESTING LABS AND NEXT TO OUR PERSONAL TERMINALS. THIS IS THE ONE I WAS WORKING ON, IT SHOULD WORK LIKE A CHARM IF WE USE IT RIGHT... WHICH WILL ONLY WORK FOR SOME PEOPLE-I CAN HEAR THEM, I HAVE TO FINISH THIS OFF OTHERWISE...

Moving my head back down I kneeled over Claire again, "Wake up, wake up, wake up," I kept saying over and over. With a growl I yelled, "Wake up! Wake up Claire!" I saw her stir underneath my words. As she looked up at me I sighed, "Are you alright hermanita? I read the terminal and it... It said... Well, are you alright?"

"Are you alright hermanita? I read the terminal and it... It said... Well, are you alright?"

Claire didn't speak. Instead she stared quietly for a moment into her brother's eyes. There was something different now. She was aware of the emotions coming form all the members of the group. The emotions didn't scare her however. For the first time since the accident she felt happy and in control. She could feel the waves of concern emanating from her brother. She could almost see the emotions floating around her and the others. There was something else. She felt like she could actually push her own emotions, controlling them and forcing them onto others

Claire smiled at her brother and put one hand on his cheek. "You worry too much."

Claire pushed outward with her mind. She could feel her eyes blacken again, but she wasn't worried. All her fears had left her. She was happy and wanted her brother to feel happy as well.
