Scars are in the game, however it will probably work like tattoos, you select during character creation.
Can not imagine they add them randomly after a hard fight, you might end up with something that look real stupid, for more fun think of amusing scar and tattoo combinations.
However most battle damage does not leave scars, had been nice if characters look beaten up if badly hurt, might even replace the health bar for enemies.
