Deathclaws were at times a bit spooky when they charged at me behind a corner - when I was at low level and they were still able to kill me quickly.

This thread belongs to the Fallout 3 General discussion, though.

Now that it's been changed.
Well, starting fallout 3 for the first time I accepted the angel Moria's quest and ventured to Super Duper Mega Awesome Mart <_< and there was a deathclaw charging at me while I was holding my beaten 10mm pistol.
Scared me so hard that all my nails fell off my body.

I think that the scariest part was right after I exited the Vault for the first time. It was the first time I met a raider, it was in the Springvale School. I was freaking out. I was also a little skittish about going into the Dunwich building. It wasn't really scarry the first time, but on my second playthrough it somehow got scarier.

Most likely not, they were pretty identical to the one's in fallout 1/2 so since they look like they're suppose to there is little to no reason to change them.
But we might have new mutations of deathclaws or different version like Deathclaw Matriarc or Baby Deathclaw.

Not-so-scary moment story. After venturing into several caverns and other indoor places, then winding up getting attacked; I ventured into Lamplight Caverns with considerable trepidation, expecting a ghoul or mutie or something. It was actually kind of funny when all I found was an obnoxious little kid.

I read somewhere from someone that was lucky enough to play the FONV demo that the deathclaws in FONV are exactly the same as the ones in FO3. Which I won't mind tbh as they scared the crap out of me.

German Town police station. I was a low level and was trying to sneak around the supermutants. I went on the computer and accidently set off the alarm. Scared the crap out of me, the sneaking gig was up.

The very first time I played this game, and went into the Dunwich Building. There's this hole in the floor, you can look down into a room below. I missed my shot. Sounded like five ghouls were really pissed off. They start running after me. It's dark, I'm playing at night, I'm drinking and the sound is up. I hear the sound of running feet hitting the floor, everywhere. I'm doing 360s with my character, and all I have is an assault rifle. I thought my heart was going to explode. This hooked me into the game.

Not the scariest moment, but a very common one. My guy's just trotting along in the Wasteland minding his own business when "WHUUFF!" swipe OW! He gets hit from behind by a Yao Guai or worse, a Deathclaw. Makes me jump every. Single. Time. I started taking the animal friendship perk just to get the damn bears to leave me alone after this happened for the umpteenth time.

My first Encounter with Feral Ghoul Reavers I expected a slightly stronger ghoul not the god that attacked me and tore through the Presidential metro killing everything...
My First trip into the Deathclaw santuary.
My First Trip to Point lookout. Those Swamp people terrify me.

I stopped playing my game for a while when I finally found the Dunwhich building. I had Fawkes with me, and I would get lost from him, and doors would swing open by themselves, Ghouls would attack me while I was facing different directions and startle me, and then finally Fawkes, would come running at me out of no where to catch up and I would fill him with bullets on accident. It's even scarier the second play through because I was evil and didn't have a companion that survived long enough when I finally went back.

Agreed! It was good to see the back of her in Broken Steel!

Anyway, my scariest moment was in the Dunwich Building when the door opens by itself on the 2nd floor. I was all ready to go in there and blast away at whatever did it but there was nothing! O.O What made this scary was the fact that the rest of the game generally follows the 'laws of nature' so to speak. i.e. Enemies are mortal and can be shot. But this incident was the first instance of something supernatural appearing in the game.

an albino scorp chased me, it was my first one, it looked ugly, and it took both me and fawkes shooting at it for about 10 seconds to kill it.

first time i saw a reaver it killed charon, which is really ironic since ferals are suppose to be friendly to ghouls.

overlord, they look like regular super mutants, thought it was weird they had a laser rifle, when they started shooting 3 of em at me i ran for the washington monument. i then hid among the chaos and the super mutants forgot about me and killed all the BoS guys. i snuck away with a couple weapons under my arm.

ps: without doctor lee optimus prime cant cover you while you try and get through 500 vertibirds and enough enclave troopers to end world war 1 and 2.

When I first encoutered Feral Ghouls... Before I saw them, because I didn't knew where they were.

Overlords didn't freaked me out, they just WTF me and died about 6 times bfore killing one... wcich I encountered on purpose.

So that's what you get if you try to run out through the front door instead of through the Taft Tunnels?

PixelIncarnate, the swampfolk are very easy to kill via the Shady Sands Shuffle. How you sneak up on them to stick the grenade in their pockets, though, if your problem.

the scariest moments for me are pretty much anytime I'm being chased from behind by anything.....makes the small hairs on my neck stand up.....also hearing something coming for you but not knowing what direction or from where.....Metro Ghouls are always good for this.....

Only level 4 so far, but just explored the Springvale School on the lower level and those giant ants scared me. I was shooting a few, and then 3 more popped out of nowhere, not sure if they came from above me or behind me. either way, scary for me

My mate apparently spawned a Deathclaw and a Supermutant Behemoth and while he was watching them fight, he heard a noise behind him and as he turned around he merely noticed that he knocked some cans or something on the floor, then when he turned back around the Deathclaw had killed the Supermutant and was right there in front of him.

I didnt even think that a Deathclaw could kill a Behemoth. Is it possible?
