I never really had any scary moments in Fallout 3...I just never put myself in a situation that I couldn't get out of. If things get rough, I just head back the way I came and make another pass at it the next day.

I guess I just play more slowly and cautiously than most gamers - I never once set off a trap in Fallout 3, for example. Kind of hard to do when you're inching along in sneak mode.

The closest Hollywood has gotten to western/horror fusion is probably "From Dusk Till Dawn", starring our very own Danny Trejo. I'm pretty sure there'll be a veiled reference to it in-game somehow. Perhaps we'll encounter a "The Hills Have Eyes" type of scenario at some point, or one inspired by "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre."

scaryest part of FO3 for me was climbing up those pipes and towers in The Pitt, and those troggs scuttering along the pipes. You couldn't really escape, vertical drops everywhere. That was spooky.

Remember going through the Metro Stations and hearing a Feral Ghoul roar, then getting all scared and panicky, turning around a corner and seeing a Mole Rat jump up and bite you face off. Oh, and yes, I would love to see more scary stuff in FNV. Adds the 'Wasteland' feeling to it.

The feral ghouls are what freaked me out. I remember in FO3 walking through train stations in the dark and hearing that sound they make, not knowing where they are.

I never got to play the DLC but there was one which centred around some mutated humans which made me think of The Hills have Eyes. Just saw the screens of the mutant hill-billy types :P

I got a few scares when a pack of dogs suddenly would ambushed me early on when your vulnerable, also in the buildings filled with super mutants, sometimes they run at you and when your sneaking around not expecting to get jumped by an enormous super mutant brute and your headphones are strapped on... it can give me a bit of a fright :P Oh and those damn ghouls !
