School's out, summer's here

Well, school is officially over for me until I receive a place at one of the universities around here (or other educational institutions). On that note, many higher education schools (upper secondary as well) have requirements that enrollers need to satisfy before entering, which is either determined based on grades from the school you graduate from or the results of an exam. So how do my fellow students and pupils think they've fared in these regards? Do your grades meet your expectations? Any disappointments or surprises? Any scholarships?

Overall, the grades have been satisfactory to what I've expected. The only bit of a let down was how the Matriculation Examination Board mistranslated one of the questions in the physics exam, which they ended up correcting by giving one point to all participants who took the exam in Swedish. This subsequently raised the minimum points required for the highest grade. In normal cases, the results I had would have been in that area, but I ended up one point behind. But still, next-to-highest grade is better than what most get, so I'm fine with it.

I'm most proud of my mathematics and Swedish results. I was surprised and relieved when I got news of the preliminary results, especially in text anolysis. That tends to be a weak point of mine, but the strong results from it combined with an 50/60 point essay took me all the way to the next-highest-grade which I had previously set as a goal for me. Another goal was a high score in advanced mathematics, which I netted as well with 63/60 points (60 ordinary points with 6 extra "bonus" points for advanced questions which are considered outside of the curriculum). These results along with other factors even got me three scholarships, so I'm really happy with ending on a high note.

To cap it off, I can now call myself a proper student with a student cap. Three long, mildly sleep-deprivating years has finally paid off.

On that note, I want to congratulate other new students and graduates today. http://danangity.deviantart.com/#/d3hyrbb And a good summer holiday, or winter, whichever one you prefer.

My last day of school is on the 14th, luckily I got a job in time. Now all I have to do this Summer is work, play video games, and work out all day. Along with the occasional day with friends of course.

Forgot to mention that I got honor roll the first 3 quarters! I don't think I'll be getting it this quarter though, started slacking big time ...

Oh well. Hopefully my classes won't kill me next year, I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up AP Calc AB & BC, AP Psych, AP Biology, and physics honors, not to mention the annoyance of English Honors.

Congratulations to you too. I graduated last week after passing my pre-cal class by one point. :celebration:

I'll probably going to the local community college for my first year of college. Not sure about after that.

Heh, maybe. Intense wrestling and disciplinary training every morning at 5.00 AM. Just need to remember to bring a towel, and I'll be set for life.
