Name: Louis Endret
Age: 16
six: Male
Race: Breton
Birthsign: The Atronarch
Year: Junior
Appearance: Louis often appears rather disheveled, and looks rather sleepy. He is a little pale, but not noticeably so, but is somewhat tall and lanky. He has long skinny legs, but is quite a bit stronger than he looks, more from finesse than brute force.
Hair: Tousled, medium length brown hair. He has a slight part on his right side, and his hair almost seems to shine in the sunlight.
Eyes: He has serious gray eyes, though the dark circles and tired droop give him a relaxed appearance.
Height: Louis is taller than average, but not too much so. He stands at around six foot one, though he is the shortest of his three siblings.
Personality: The best way to describe Louis is laid back. His laze fare attitude was brought on by unchallenging tutors, his surprising intellect flying by their lessons at a young age. After he was starting to go through puberty his father was at a loss for what to do, the sharpest minds in High Rock had little to offer the young prodigy, so much of Louis' days were spent relaxing or playing with his fellow children.
Though he excels at academics, and is not too shabby physically, personable was never in this young man's extensive vocabulary. He was hopeless at carrying on a conversation about anything other than the various sciences, most people's petty interests quickly boring him, and he was not humble or empathetic enough to remain polite. He would scoff at anyone else's mistakes, though if he committed one he would grow sullen.
Magic is a touchy subject with him, his birthsign preventing him from breaching such studies, to the point where he refuses to discuss it altogether. However, has realized his need of other people, and has been trying to learn the subtle arts of friendship and camaraderie, without much success. He can still be awkward in a conversation, and despises meeting new people, so could be called rather shy.
Clothes: When not in dress code, Louis will wear comfortable cloth trousers and a cotton shirt. He has a full range of high end silks and satins from his parents, but he will frequently outright refuse to wear them, though they appeared in his closet upon his first arrival at his dorm room. He has even gone so far as to exchange the scratchy uniform robes for a breathable fabric, tailored to fit during his first break from freshman year.
Weapons: He was taught how to fence by a renowned gladiator, and as such owns his own rapier, though he usually doesn't wear it around school, taking it out of his closet only for practice.
Misc: He wears a lucky coin around his neck, despite his disbelief in luck or chance. He has an extensive collection of books, though he keeps most locked up in a chest so that his roommates don't see them. Other than that he has few material possessions, despite his family's wealth.
History:
Louis' parents are high ranking nobles and respected officials within the High Rock government, and as such provided the best money could buy for their youngest son. Louis was constantly surrounded by lavish furnishings and beautiful things, dusty tomes within the estate library, and the best teachers and nannies in the province. His parents spent little time at home, both usually off somewhere having dinner with a fellow noble, or engaging in diplomacy with other nations. He spent much of his childhood alone in his room or learning under his instructors, his rapid educations stunning most of the household.
His eldest brother joined the military when he was eight, and his other brother married the daughter of another respected family and went to live on his own estate when Louis was ten, so the majority of his teenage years were with advlts who referred to him as the "young master". The treatment made him somewhat self centered, but he had the sense of mind not to become completely spoiled.
Despite his great mental prowess, his studies gave him little pleasure, and as such he spent his teenage years learning the ways of the sword under a trained arena fighter from the Imperial city, hired by his father after Louis' request to learn to fight. The physical training proved a challenge, something Louis was eager to embark on, though the strategy and movements came easily to him. He has been the all time youth fencing champion of High Rock for three years now, though will not often brag about this accomplishment. He is always looking higher, never stopping to appreciate how far he has come, and how blessed by the Nine he truly is. He regards those that cannot compete with him as simpletons to be pitied, but little else.
After hearing of this new school, his father immediately sent word to enroll his son in the classes, hoping the higher education could prove more challenging than his tutors could. After a few semesters, Louis discovered the only real challenge was fitting in with all the other students, the only people his age he had ever come in contact with having been hired to play with him.
