Scopes (mods)

Is it just me, or do these scopes absolutely STINK!!! I pick up the All-American rifle, which would be a totally amazing gun if it weren't for the stupid scope. It's completely shaky and even if you crouch it still shakes. I know it's supposed to be realistic and obviously in real life no one has hands that will make the gun steady at all times, but at least give us a Call of Duty type of button where we can hold our breath or something and make the aim steady for a short period of time. Otherwise, the scope IMO is garbage. Obviously it's not a big deal because I just won't buy the upgrade for any other gun, but I really want to use the All-American gun without the stupid scope....

you got to have 100 gun skill to hold the gun completely still. look at the requirements. you also need 4 str.

Do you think your grandma could hold it steady?

I imagine she's pretty weak and isn't trained in assault rifles.

If you aren't either of those don't expect a different result, haha.

Even then you can't hold it 100% still. But the sway is extremely little. I like it. Also I have a night scope but I've heard about a heat vision. What might that be for?

This may be true of that gun/scope/skill combination, but today I found a unique sniper rifle that hits with pin-point accuracy at extreme range, and I have a 45 gun skill.

Spoiler

The "Ratslayer" is a .556 sniper rifle with a very powerful night-optics scope on it AND a silencer - and retains unbelievable accuracy. I can't even register the hits or see them with normal vision, but when scoped I can tag a monsters at the edge of visual range on the head and watch them crouch and grab their head with both hands.

It's AWESOME.

That said, I think it has everything to do with the right gun/scope/skill/etc combination that makes it effective -OR- the only good scopes will be on the unique guns... We'll have to see.

I can do that with a normal Varmit Rifle as well. And the ammo is 5.56mm not .556

I had no idea about the affect raising your gun skill would have on sway, thank you!

... and this was the point of my response, 100 gun skill is not required for good accuracy with a scope from those I have tested so far.

I think your revelation about my misplaced period in the ammo is Ground Breaking news! Thank you SO MUCH for pointing that out! I feel so enlightened! Do you teach firearms instruction classes to?!?! :)

at 90-100 there is very little sway in the anti mat rifle, or the sniper rifle.

I think weapon weight may also have a effect on sway. The sniper seems to sway less after you find the lighter parts for it.

It should be noted that Gun skill effects Sway, not the accuracy of the bullet. What I mean is the bullet will go exactly where the cross-hair is no matter your skill. I was hitting things at the very edge of visibility (max graphics settings) with a cowboy repeater with like 40 Gun skill.

Also, yes, if you have less STR than the gun's requirement you'll sway a ton more.

Yes I do actually. You know that long stick part with the hole in the front? Point that away from you at all time. :P
