scoreboard/awards not reflect true match performance?

I don't think this is the kind of thing that could be addressed with an update (maybe put into Brink2) but i don't feel scoreboard/awards always shows true game performance. This isn't a whine because i'm often up at the top of the list but have had many a match where i've finished at the bottom despite winning every or at least most objectives. Sometimes its guys not getting how to play (off in some random area of the map just killing players/bots) or off doing secondary objectives that aren't helping us win the primary. Just pointing out that being top of the scoreboard/getting most kills/best medic etc. does not always mean you were important to winning the match. And thats a big part of what i love about this game, i don't care about kills, don't care how many times i die, don't care how much exp i rack up...i care about my team winning! So here's to the unsung heroes, i notice who helps advance the match and really gets done what needs to get done! Hoping we can get a more dynamic exp system someday.

damn i luv this game

edit - of course you can be best in class/most kills and the most important in a match just saying there is a big difference and i for one will do what ever is needed to win...also if you swap classes as needed by objective you'll lose out on individual class awards

There is nothing wrong with the scoreboard awards. The awards got to the best of each class experience-wise. Most kills points out the obvious! These awards have nothing to do with the in-game performance. It just goes to the medic/operative/engineer/soldier who has the most exp in that particular class. Must be reading it wrong.

No, what he is saying is true. The player who dies the most and goes on buff-spree's will be on top of the board.
I've had matches where I kept trying to complete the primary objectives (when everyone completely did NOT), and I did so in the last seconds. But on the scoreboard everyone had more xp as me.
I think that's what he is trying to say, your efforts were more important to the outcome of the match but the rest who were only buffing and basically failing, seemed to be the best players..

lol no i get it, you misunderstood me...all the kills or experience in the world doesn't show your true importance in the match, being the best ___ (insert class) or having most kills is great but you can do that and still be unimportant in winning the match...example-last night on refuel i went from doing the hydro to the hack section, when i got there an engineer had a turret set up to cover me and was holding down the area, he deserves more exp than someone dropping a turret on the other side of the map. I'm just saying there is a hell of a lot more to being crucial in a match than kills or exp

yes I know it's awful
I play Ops a lot and try to get in and cause chaos a lot, getting less points than everyone who has been guarding the objective rather than attempt to tackle the problem at the root(i.e. an organised enemy front)
a good offense is the best defense and the best way to not earn a lot of points

Ahh.....ok! I read it wrong. He does get exp for holding the objective. It's "Guarding" exp! That doesn't mean he isn't helping the team out. He just isn't doing enough to get exp. When the stat site comes up hopefully people like this will be rewarded with something as "time defending objective". Then again that's time he could be holding a choke point, or preventing flanking, or buffing teammates, or capturing command posts, etc. There's more going on in the game than defending and attacking.

OK...

Yes, there are things the game's XP system doesn't keep track of, and yes, there are exploits to getting massive amount of XP without really ACHIEVING anything much...

But it's still WAY better than most games I've played.

I'm glad to see intelligent posts like yours on this forum. KUDOS!

I've been noticing all too often, around here, that a player will sincerely highlight a genuine issue with the game, carefully taking their time to explain the specifics of the problem..... just to have some hot air blowing scrub sprint into the thread and post nonsense like, "There's nothing wrong with blah blah blah," completely ignoring the reality of the issue just to take a shot at the sincere player and condescend down to him with complete BS.
Hell, it even happened in this thread. I mean, you can argue up and down that these people simply don't understand the situation, but how do you excuse their use of BOLD STATEMENTS like, "There is nothing wrong with the scoreboard awards?" Do they not know what's coming out of their mouths when they say things like that? Do they not mean what they say? They are blatantly stating that everything you have issue with is perfect, and you're just whining for no reason.... how is that due to anything but pure ignorance??

I still feel like Medics get too much XP. Even a slight town-down, like 70XP per-buff instead of 75 would be good. When I top the scoreboards I want it to be based off my performance and skill, not the class I chose.

Helping your teammates gets the most XP. Try attack only the objectives, never stopping to buff teammates.

Then try to only buff teammates. You'll find XP gain almost triples, if not doubles.
