Thoughts?
I was pretty disappointed when it did not after investing 2 points into Scrapper perk.
Also, scrapping a pipe-gun should give me some woods.
Why it gives me 0 wood but 4 steels?

Because the Pipe guns doesn't have any wooden components?
Why do you expect for there to be a Mini-Nuke somewhere hidden inside the Fat Man?
if I have zero mini nukes to shoot out of it why should it give me one?.....
Because the FatMan doesn't come preloaded, even though I know its design shows a mini nuke sitting right there.
Personally I don't use the thing. Only time I ever did was in NV and that hidden location across the river that's crawling with Deathclaws. Because it was double the fun. But on the fly, no. I value my limbs.
I don`t know. I thought there was a mini-nuke clearly placed on every fatman lol.
(I also think this could give some more value to the perk & saluaging fatman)
and there is no wooden component in pipe gun?! Damn.. I really gotta stop believe what I see in FO...
LOL. There's definitely wood in the construction of pipe weapons, but even with Scrapper you don't get ALL of the components back.
usually you get the ammo contained in a weapon as soon as you pick it up.
it gets unloaded in your inventory by default.
never checked it for a fatman though...since i never used one.
I ran out of my woods, and I thought pipe guns would be good source of woods,
but it turned out to be hunting rifle & short variants of rifles that yields some woods. lol
To be honest, I thought it would make sense to replace the intact Mini-nuke first before scrapping Fatman into pieces.
..but I believe scrapping Fatman yields some Nuclear Material.. so I presume the SS is scrapping that little piece of Mini-nuke as well. lol
I just wanted to have one whole mini-nuke over these screws and nuclear materials when we scrap a Fatman.
They are pretty rare afterall. This would not be game breaking but just more rewarding.
Without a mini-nuke loaded, the Fat Man is simply a shoulder-mounted pneumatic piston with a channeling trough built around it. It shouldn't yield a mini-nuke.
Usually when you pick one up there is a mini nuke in the inventory.... so there ya go, no scrapping needed
So what is going with Nuclear Material we receive from scrapping a fatman? Just bonus ?!
like i said: if the fatman is loaded, you should recieve a mini nuke when you pick it up.
i learned this when i got my overseers early and was short on .45.
then i entered a certain subway station for a certain quest (hard to post no spoilers) were certain people were carrying certain... they were carrying lots of submachine guns.
on every corpse i found 3 or 4 rounds of .45.... yet at the end i had hundreds of them in my inventory.
i watched it further and discovered that every weapon i loot gets unloaded in my inventory.
since then i loot every weapon... and throw it away afterwards if needed.
Wow really ?!
So everytime I pick up a fatman I was getting a mini-nuke as well?!
Now I regret skipping some fatmans because I was carrying too much.
Thanks for the info!
This information is not only useful in general play...
but also can be extremely useful when playing new Survival mode !
No you do not get the ammo that is contained in a weapon. It might be part of a perk that has a greater chance for finding ammo. I never invested far in that perk and I have never got ammo for a gun I picked up and this was on the PC and Xbox One.
Believe me, at that point i didn't have invested a single point in that perk... and i never invested more than one into it.
Right, I forgot that the receiver uses a chunk of wood, I was thinking of the Pipe Revolvers. Oops - regardless, it doesn't seem like enough wood to bother with, unlike the wooden stocks on some weapons that do provide scrap. I wish pipe guns gave us more copper, personally.
Residue from all the Mini Nukes launched before it was scrapped.
Yeah.
I stopped using X-02 at one point because I couldn`t afford coppers to repair the parts. lol
funny how different playstyles need different materials.
i'm at the point of buying gold shipments because i like to give my settlers tricked out gauss rifles
well, scrapping a board, the ones smutants like to hit you with, gives you 1 wood iirc. scrapping a pencil, gives you 1 wood and 1 lead. mind = blown
