Scrapping from inventory?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:20 am

As I go to the workbenches I always transfer 'junk' to the workbench storage. My question is how do I scrap something once it's in storage? Suppose I need some screws and there are some items in storage that have screws. How do I break down the item to get the screws? If it just randomly scraps something for the parts then which item is randomly scrapped if there are several with screws? When I'm actually crafting I it seems I only have access to the items already scrapped. Or do I have have to add all items back into my inventory and then one at a time scrap them? There just must be a better way.

I do have the Scrapper perk.

Thanks.

Im pretty sure you have to actually drop the items on the ground in a customizable area. could be wrong but thats the only way ive been able to do it

Yeah I tried actually dropping stuff also, but honestly what's the point of collecting all these toy cars and such if you can't then scrap them for their components.

I want a 'Scrap All' option that scraps everything in storage into components so I can use them for mods and new items.

Hm everything thats inside the workbench storage box gets autoscraqed when needed in crafting/modifying something so theres absolutly no need for droping stuff on the ground and scraping it manualy.

But who picks which item? Suppose I stored some items that need the level 2 Scrapper perk but they also have screws. Are those going to be scrapped for screws and I lose the high level components? If I have five different items with screws, which one gets auto-scrapped? Is there a way to save some items to not get scrapped until I have the level 2 Scrapper perk?

Just too many loose ends on how this works.

To be honest workbench boxes as i see it are meant to store scrapable junk(as far as i know scrapable junk is in no way affected by any perk it will allways give same materials when deconed so order in which it gets deconed doesnt matter) and materials. Items that are affected by decon perks are armor, weapons and its parts(unless i am terribly wrong in which case fell free to correct me ofcourse)

That makes sense actually. I believe the perk does only apply to armor and weapons. That's some relief anyway.

Really???

Wow I'm going to have to test that out.

If I'm just short of a crystal and I pop a microscope into storage, the game will help itself?

Super.
