Scrapping skeletons?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 10:09 pm

Unlike a lot of other objects, there doesn't seem to be a way to interact with skeletons. You can't loot them, you can't "grab" them and move them around, and you can't scrap them via the workshop menu (even though there is a "bone" resource and there are pick-upable bones in other places). This is a bit annoying for building stuff at settlements (for example the one up in the projectionists room at Starlight) and even being able to just drag them somewhere would be quite handy.

Is there any chance this could be changed in a future patch?

I haven't tried it, but if you are on PC, you should be able to open the console, click the skeleton, and type 'disable', and it will remove it. But, yeah, it would be nice to have an in-game way of dealing with them.

I would love to be able to break up all the Skeletons I find in the Game. That "Bone" resource is just too useful to leave lying around like that.

To be fair, the skeletons lying around have been doing so for 200 years on top of a ludicrous exposure to radiation. I wouldn't want to make anything from them, at least not something that's going to be in close contact to my person.

I'm on PS4 unfortunately, so that's a no-go for me. That does suggest that it would be fairly trivial to allow you to select and scrap them, no? I remember them being movable in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and I think you could also move them in Skyrim (though they were also an enemy type in that game, so that might make things different).

if you press and hold X (might not work in workshop mode) while aiming at them you might be able to drag them away.

You can't drag them away shadow because they're to "heavy", my solution to what I did to remove them on console was to put mines under them and blow them away, if you have a rocket launcher, that might work too. Just save before every explosion so if it goes a way you don't like you can just reload and not use another mine/rocket.

Maybe put a big piece of furniture on top of them? (I haven't actually tried to remove any skeletons yet, myself)

I agree with the OP. This is an annoyance for me. I want to be able to clear any settlement sites and that includes skeletons.

Also, I want an increase to settlement size capacity, say by the equivalent of 50 Junk Fence pieces. Not a lot tbh, but enough to allow me to build better defences and facilities for my Settlers.

You can move them using other objects. I garbed pillow just next to one at the cinema and pushed it out. Took some skill to push it through the door but it can be done with some patience. I just hope it will not reset it back after some time :D

Disable only removes the object from view for collision purposes. It is still there loaded into memory. Better way is to use markfordelete
This actually removes the objects on cell unload

Best way is disable (so you see object disappear and if you accidentally targeted wrong item, you can enable to reverse mistake
Then markfordelete so it is permanently removed from game stats.
