Screens are from Xbox!

Yes, he is on Facebook. If you search for "Todd Howard Bethesda" on Facebook, he'll be the first in the results. I found him.

DAMN! He got so few friends (on facebook). Only 91!
I would imagine someone like him having like a few thousand friends.

--------------------

Anyway this is good news I suppose. If anything, it can only look better on PC. It can't look worse :)
I hope it looks a little better on PC. It usually, if not always, does.

I don't think that the PC graphic will be much more better than that of the conspole version.
Better graphic means more effort, why should they put more effort into something, what the lesser mass of customers are going to use? That would just be a waste.
Would be kinda stupid for any company... so i don't see it happen. The graphics of PC may be a bit better, more polished and so on. But not a huge difference, i think it will be like oblivion.

Well, at the very least we'll be able to crank up antialiasing and AF on PCs.

I would imagine that he declines a lot of friend requests.

Ok so the cool slick menus are for x-box. I'd imagine that the PS3 menus will be designed to take even longer to scroll through than the ones on Oblivion. The reason, Microsoft paid them to do it!

I'd just assume he only accepts requests from people he will actually talk to like I do

But yeah, even though I am getting it for X-box 360 -goty later for pc- I'm sure it will look better on the PC. That's just how it is :)

Because Bethesda hopefully still thinks of the fans that GOT THEM HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Besides that, better graphics usually ends up leading to better sales as well.

If the screens are from Xbox, then this is great news!

I honestly think that the graphics look great even though i am a PC-gamer. :celebration:

They would do it to increase their PC sales. Set standards. I admire Crytek for setting so high PC standards in 2007. It was an incredibly big step in terms of graphics, and they are still remembered to this day for it, and for still being awesome!

The differences can be HUGE, even though the console engine is a game ahead.

False.
Most people buy TES for computer. There was a poll about it here not too long ago and about 35% played on consoles I think.
Now this was just a poll on this forum, but I believe it would be quite accurate in the long run too.

And how many of those 65% PC gamers have bought the game at full price (right after release), or payed for it at all (pirated versions)?

I happened to pay full price for Daggerfall and Oblivion, but I got Morrowind GOTY for just 10 euro's.
Lot's of people only buy PC games that are over a year old since it's a lot cheaper and you don't need to spend a lot of cash on the latest hardware.

Console players never have to worry if they can run the game and usually have a smaller catalog of games to pick, so they buy more games at full price.

Do you really think they are going to let a dozen of people work hours, days and weeks more to make graphics better ONLY on PC, only to do them a "favor"?

When did get TES really popular? Right, when Morrowind and Oblivion were released on consoles. So the console was what got them a such popular!

But tu be honest, no one of us really knows whats 100% correct, both factors made them what they are today, so they put the same effort for all platforms!

I believe the screens were from the Xbox 360, but I don't believe the OP even talked to Todd Howard seeing as he doesn't have a Facebook or Twitter.

Nobody "doesn't have" a Facebook. But you can block yourself from most people accessing your page or finding it in search feed.

That is quite a huge difference. It really shows just how limited consoles are when compared to the PC.

It really makes me wonder how Cryengine 3 will look on PCs at absolute max settings, as it seems like it has a lot of potential. Especially if http://www6.incrysis.com/screenshots/cryengine3_siggraph_2009.png is any indication.

I believe they should be. Most games look about the same, maybe with a few differences here and there. :) Though of course there are exceptions where one looks far better than the other, I doubt Bethesda would let that happen.

There's like a site for making fake facebook conversations. That's probably where the screen came from. Why else would the writing be blurred at parts?

FAIL! That blurred out text is the names of the other people who commented, and the last name of the person who made the comment in the first place.

Damn I'd like to take a look at those screens... Ah well, they'll be up soon enough, I guess.

Well since these forums are on teh internetz I say that that poll is a bit subjective. Throw that poll up on the 360's and compare with this one and then combine them for a more fair result. :)

Oh, well I don't use facebook so I was just guessing there. Is that automatic on FB for some reason or did the person who got it do it externally?

The way I see it, most console gamers don't use forums, where PC gamers do. Why that is, is hard to decipher, but it might be because PC gamers mod, they cheat, they are generally more "advanced" than console players, who just want to have some fun. And when PC gamers mod and do what they do, they go to a forum, to get help with the modding or whatever it is they do.

That's my two cents.

On topic, I Googled some GI scans, and all I can say is that it got me all worked up about the game again. I felt like adrenaline rushed through my veins.

I'm no game development studio but if I was in charge of one the PS3 would always get improved graphics strictly because they made the right call to go Blu-Ray
