Screens are from Xbox!

Post » Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:21 pm

I asked Todd Howard via Facebook if the screens are from PC, Xbox or Ps3, and he said it's Xbox.

So we can expect even better graphics for the PC version!

As those on the lovely sight with a 4 in its name would say...

Sauce?

Also, does Todd even have a Facebook? I search "Todd Howard Facebook" on google and get diddly squat, except for maybe a fan page.

I do believe the Screens were Xbox shots,( and being so makes them even better because they were impressive even if they were PC shots, it is a multi plat game after all.)

However I do not believe you talked to Todd Howard about it.

Well, hypothetically that's nice because it not only means my 360 version is going to look magnificent but also is a good indicator of what high-end PCs will be able to do with it, but I too must ask for a proof link or a shot of the screen.

I am pretty sure what was shown in GI was the Xbox360 version as when they started talking about the controls it seemed like they were refering to a controller, also most people will probably buy the game on Xbox so it makes sense that the game will mostly be shown on the Xbox.

Not sure why you guys are finding it so hard to believe that what you were shown are screens from the Xbox version.

I believe it, but a screenie would still be nice. Just block any personal information you would be surprised at how easy it is to find people's personal info on facebook O.o

False.
Most people buy TES for computer. There was a poll about it here not too long ago and about 35% played on consoles I think.
Now this was just a poll on this forum, but I believe it would be quite accurate in the long run too.

I believe the screens were from the Xbox 360, but I don't believe the OP even talked to Todd Howard seeing as he doesn't have a Facebook or Twitter.

Well the reason why is that all the previous games were shown off on very high end PCs because that's where the graphics looked best. If the graphics are good enough to have them show it on the 360 instead of the most powerful gaming rig they can afford, that's saying something.

False. Well, maybe not. But not necessarily true. Chances are the more hardcoe ES fans will buy the PC version due to the availability of modding. Also, most RPGs are computer games more often than console games, so RPG gamers would be more computer inclined. Therefore, results will be quite skewed. I wouldn't say for sure which has more players.

Wow a poll on the internet said more people buy a game for PC. All my gamer friends play on xbox, they don't even know what forums are. It's obvious more people play on console, that's why they always showcase multiple-platform games on xbox. Look at the sales, xbox dominates all other platforms.

Edit: Didn't mean to come off as flamey. The pics are obviously xbox, though I doubt Todd confirmed that though.

Incorrect. They'll likely do what they did with Oblivion and turn down the PC version graphics to match the consoles.

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong...

Hm maybe you're right, because when I think of it my friends that have Oblivion have it on console.
We can't be really sure.
But I THINK, judging from the online poll and from mods (I also think 1st person games are WAY easier to "maneuver" on PC than with a joystick), there's more PC players.

Still, I hope the screens are from xbox360, but I doubt it?
I mean. Don't they "turn the game to consoles" from the PC once the game actually is finished?
Idk, maybe I'm wrong. No idea.

The menu sure made it look like it was a screen from the XBox version: why would you need to cycle through skills if you have a mouse?

You're kidding right? The reason Oblivion didn't get better graphics (but they were still kinda good for their time) is not because of consoles. It was because of Gamebryo engine I believe.
Gamebryo engine in Oblivion is really really bad at rendering shadows from what I know of. Especially many shadows.
Oblivion originally had "soft shadows" for objects (not just characters) it was removed due to performance issues.
