that old woman looks incredibly frail and wrinkly and over all looks like a ugly old witch

/facepalm

I'm such a moron... first time I saw it, I thought that was a man, and had massive doubts about the character models in the game...

Again, /facepalm...

Its also hard to tell but the Khajits legs look like they're a bit bowed out which could mean the legs are more like the khajits in MW rather than in Oblivion.

That's nostalgia kicking in...

did you notice that in the last pic the nord warrior is wielding what we know is a single handed sword (seen in other screens and video) as a two hander or half and a hand sword? which means bastard swords are in!

No... it's just a two handed variation of a longsword. These are commonly know as 'claymores' in the TES universe. ;)

No really, I compared the fighting stance to Oblivion's, his legs are definitely pointing more outward.

i noticed a few things in the orc screenshot
mainly that orc doesnt have 2 different eye colors he lost an eye
also one of his tusks are broken
and either his swords of orcish origin or this further hints that smithing allows some extent of shape customization

Has anybody noticed the lighting in the foreground of the Orc pic. It looks unnatural to me but it could be with reason.

Claymores typically have different textures, this sword has the same texture of the longsword in the pictures we have seen before.

The Fort could possibly be Labyrinthian, 200 years later.

The fort is Bleak Falls Barrow. It's from the demo and that's the only fort they visited.

Wow, that Khajjit looks damned cool at least. But as for the rest... is that supposed to be water or ice in the first one? C'mon, every other game in existence can at least differentiate between the two, and what's with the horrible block hair for the orc? Dreads definitely don't look like that.

That is water and it's reflecting the white from the snow on the rocky ledge to the side of it. It looks a bit odd because this is the 360 version so it doesn't have full reflections or else you would be able to see the ledge in full reflection. However, it would be clear it is water if you were seeing a moving scene and people need to keep that in mind. Also, the hair style on that orc is a tightly bound and rolled hairstyle, which is a real hair style and it looks like that. They are not dreadlocks, dreadlocks will be on Redguards

To be more clear, the Orc hair style shown there is an oriental hair style, which is what Orcish society is based on.

Proof? Or are you just asuming that since it's a fort and they visited one in the demo.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this but could the snake and warrior statue in the Khajiit pic be a reference to the Akiviri Invasion? We know some of the fighting happened in or near Skyrim and it looks like an Imperial or Nord killing a snake, the Akiviri (Specifically the Tsaesci sp?) were referred to as Snake people a lot. Since the warrior is slaying the snake it could be a memorial to Imperial victories over the Akiviri.

heh or it could just be a shrine to Talos. Oh well.

Again, it's Talos. No question. Can't find my link that shows concept art named Talos that is identical to this statue in every way.

It actually looks like he's in a block position with a longsword, which would explain why we can't block with sword+spell, since the second hand has to come over and grip the weapon as well.

Also:

The orc not only looks like he's blind in one eye (as others have pointed out), but it looks like the tusk/tooth on that side of his face is chipped as well -- a war torn face and a battle hardened look, and it all certainly alludes to the increased depth and options of the character creator.

They didn't. The closest we got were cracks in the roof of the cave that let light bleed in from outside but unfortunately it didn't register what time it was outside so it could be midnight and sunlight was still shining in. I'm sure Skyrim will remedy this hehe.

I think it was actually an axe, just looked funny the way he held it.

Are you referring to some unseen light source that is illuminating the wall on the right side of the screen, or are you mistaking the tapestry/banner hanging at the top left hand corner of the screen as a window?

I think NV solved the cracks letting in light appropriate to time of day. I have played for a few weeks though So I am not positive.

Well the room seems to have a lot of different light sources, I don't think it's safe to say that there is a window in the room if we can't see it. Although it kinda does look like there is a light source coming from the ceiling.
