You should add trim to the shield around the edges.
:( I wish I could, sadly the mesh is not suitable for a UV edit to add a trim to the shield.I would have already done so, If I could get the nif importer/exporter to install correctly for blender I could then add the needed vertices, but I can't get the darn program to install correctly in Vista, its the only addon for blender that I can't get to function properly, it just crashes every time I try to import or export anything nif related.
Its wierddddd, so anyways, I have nifskope, and thats the only mesh editing tool I have that actually performs as its supposed to and its just not quite
good powerful enough for what I'd need to do to the mesh to apply a proper UV map.
Anyways, I do appreciate the suggestion.
Edit: I could actually alter the texture itself to match the UV mapping in order to give the shield proper trim, though I'm not sure how it would turn out and how much work would actually be involved to get it right, but I do think I will try now that I'm thinking about it, I'll be back when I have something worth showing!
