Screenshots #120

Previous Thread: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1038725

How do I enable and take screenshots of my game? You'll need to edit your Morrowind.ini file (see brief how-to below). But first, back up the file in case you make a mistake, or if you later want to restore it to its original state.(by DragoonWraith)

Enabling Screenshots:Open Morrowind.ini (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind.ini in the default Windows installation), and you'll see a lot of code. In the eighth, largest section under [General], there is a line which saysScreen Shot Enable=0Switch that toScreen Shot Enable=1Now, in Morrowind, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (the button is sometimes hard to find, often you need to use the Shift key). You'll see a message which tells you that the screenshot has been created. It can be found in your main Morrowind folder.(Addendum by ~Ninja Monkey)To extend on the tutorial for taking screenshots above, you should change your pictures from a bitmap image to a jpeg image if you will be hosting your screenshots on the internet. To do this, open them up in Paint or any other photo editing program, go to "Save As..." and save as a jpeg file. Do NOT simply edit the file name from Screenshot#.bmp to Screenshot#.jpg. That only changes the file name, not the file type.

I think this is pertinent screenshot info...
How to enable screenshots with MGE, from the MGE Wiki:
When MGE is active, Morrowind's usual method of taking screenshots becomes unavailable. Fortunately, MGE offers its own screenshot feature. This guide explains how to activate it.1. Open MGEgui.exe2. Click on the Input tab.3. Click on Launch Macro Editor.4. In the Macro Editor, click on the key you want to use. Obviously this should be a key that isn't already used in the game. Also, don't choose the PrintScreen key (doing so will work, but Morrowind will display an irritating error message every time you take a screenshot).5. In the upper left drop-down menu, select "Function".6. In the lower left drop-down menu, select "Take screenshot"7. Click "Save". The key you selected should now be displayed in green.8. Close MGEgui, start Morrowind, and see if the feature works. Sreenshots will be saved with the name "MGE screenshot" (plus a number) in the Morrowind directory.

Bonemold armor and exquisite shirt by Bethesda. Lute is of my own invention, available http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27800 Hat came out of http://www.silgradtower.net/Websites/Misc_ST_Related/HostedWebsites/Smight.silgrad.com/RF.htm, retextured and UV map adjusted to use the exquisite skirt texture out of Better Clothes. Not yet available, haven't obtained all necessary permissions yet :P

EDIT: As for textures, I'm not using any texture replacers. I use the Celshader_V4 MGE shader, which sort of seems to sharpen everything up. I don't know if you were asking about the head, if so, it came out of Westly's Master Head Pack :D

What permissions are you waiting for?
Smite's clothing is a resource, so a credit to
Smite should be all that you need (if that is what
you are looking for, that is) ;) .

Hi AnOldFriend

Slightly OT... I posted this query in another thread but you probably missed it. I was looking through your photobucket pics. Some really nice stuff, face textures for older NPCs look really good. But what really caught my eye was the burnished brass/copper look of the Dwemer interiors. Is that something you've released? Would very much like to see it. Pls let me know.

thanks!

No I havent ever released those textures, I may work on them again at some point though.

Just and FYI. All of the models in those screenshots have altered uv maps which means the textures will not work so well with mods that use player made Dwemer tile sets.

Anyway, a few more of Vivec with a new wall texture, I think this is more fitting then the last one. :)

Am enjoying your texture shots AOF - did you use some leather as part of the Vivic wall texture - reminds me of really worn leather - also looks like it has a polished sheen - very nice I don't think I've seen one more appealing for some time.

Why not? I can setup the world in my screens in ten-twenty minutes. A couple of texture packs and shaders...

I think it is not as close as we can get with it. When I moded for Morrowind with Max(ages ago), I noticed there was this WYSIWYG quality. With shader power(soon shadows and Global Illumination :hubbahubba: ), it can get pretty intense.

There is still a lack of mesh overhaul, but that can wait for the normal maps project to finish. Of course the performance is main concern. Hopefully intel will sell some 6 ghz chips with down to earth prices, and that would not be a problem anymore. :) I can only hope.(AMD you can do it too!)

I am a little late for recent stuff,

Thanks, I am just about done with these textures, just a couple more things to do. Maybe I will do Hlaalu next. Textures are such a funny hobby. :D

As for the texture, it is more or less a derivative of the first texture with some rather major tweaks I suppose.
