Screenshots #121

Previous Thread: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1051014

How do I enable and take screenshots of my game? You'll need to edit your Morrowind.ini file (see brief how-to below). But first, back up the file in case you make a mistake, or if you later want to restore it to its original state.(by DragoonWraith)

Enabling Screenshots:Open Morrowind.ini (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind.ini in the default Windows installation), and you'll see a lot of code. In the eighth, largest section under [General], there is a line which saysScreen Shot Enable=0Switch that toScreen Shot Enable=1Now, in Morrowind, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (the button is sometimes hard to find, often you need to use the Shift key). You'll see a message which tells you that the screenshot has been created. It can be found in your main Morrowind folder.(Addendum by ~Ninja Monkey)To extend on the tutorial for taking screenshots above, you should change your pictures from a bitmap image to a jpeg image if you will be hosting your screenshots on the internet. To do this, open them up in Paint or any other photo editing program, go to "Save As..." and save as a jpeg file. Do NOT simply edit the file name from Screenshot#.bmp to Screenshot#.jpg. That only changes the file name, not the file type.

I think this is pertinent screenshot info...
How to enable screenshots with MGE, from the MGE Wiki:
When MGE is active, Morrowind's usual method of taking screenshots becomes unavailable. Fortunately, MGE offers its own screenshot feature. This guide explains how to activate it.1. Open MGEgui.exe2. Click on the Input tab.3. Click on Launch Macro Editor.4. In the Macro Editor, click on the key you want to use. Obviously this should be a key that isn't already used in the game. Also, don't choose the PrintScreen key (doing so will work, but Morrowind will display an irritating error message every time you take a screenshot).5. In the upper left drop-down menu, select "Function".6. In the lower left drop-down menu, select "Take screenshot"7. Click "Save". The key you selected should now be displayed in green.8. Close MGEgui, start Morrowind, and see if the feature works. Sreenshots will be saved with the name "MGE screenshot" (plus a number) in the Morrowind directory.

Your Orc is so pretty, Sister! Almost makes me want to replace Barabus' Orc heads with something more appealing... almost, hehe.

Illuminiel inspired me to try my hand at making faces:

Well, I suppose I'll post a few of my current character. Some of these were taken while I was trying an HDR shader for MGE, but while it looked nice inside, I found the effect too intense in daylight in exteriors, so I stopped using it. It seems like all the HDR shaders I've tried either don't provide the effect I want or brutally murder my framerate.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/MGEScreenshot27-1.jpg. This was taken in front of the newly built Shrine of Boethia, of course, it was just after recieving it that I decided to take this picture.

I left the menus on in the last few pictures because for some reason that I can't fathom, the textures on my Fists of Randagulf turn black whenever I use TM to turn off menus,

I believe that's an issue with the 'Bump/reflect map local lighting' fix in the MCP.

Well, that explains it then, since I did install that particular fix, thank you for clearing that bit of confusion up.

Anyone who's played the Sable Dragon will likely remember my NPC named Zibnib.
Well, I created him as my new character just for something new, and laughs :P

I think this would be more impressive if he lacked pants. He'd be the Herman Toothrot of Vvardenfell.

:biglaugh: Actually he needs his pants. That's where he keeps his freshly caught fish. (a reference to the dialog I wrote for him in my mod)

I haven't played any in my absence, but I made a pair of splash screens for some of my characters-

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Sasha_Mycha_screen.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Ambersplash.jpg

Now if they look a little .... odd (distorted) it's because my monitor is 1440 x 900 and I made the screens at that size before scaling them back to 1024 x 1024; while they're on-screen it looks better.
