Screenshot thread No. 125

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 1:13 am

Previous thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1099697-screenshot-thread-no-p124/

How do I enable and take screenshots of my game? You'll need to edit your Morrowind.ini file (see brief how-to below). But first, back up the file in case you make a mistake, or if you later want to restore it to its original state.(by DragoonWraith)

Enabling Screenshots:Open Morrowind.ini (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind.ini in the default Windows installation), and you'll see a lot of code. In the eighth, largest section under [General], there is a line which saysScreen Shot Enable=0Switch that toScreen Shot Enable=1Now, in Morrowind, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (the button is sometimes hard to find, often you need to use the Shift key). You'll see a message which tells you that the screenshot has been created. It can be found in your main Morrowind folder.(Addendum by ~Ninja Monkey)To extend on the tutorial for taking screenshots above, you should change your pictures from a bitmap image to a jpeg image if you will be hosting your screenshots on the internet. To do this, open them up in Paint or any other photo editing program, go to "Save As..." and save as a jpeg file. Do NOT simply edit the file name from Screenshot#.bmp to Screenshot#.jpg. That only changes the file name, not the file type.

I think this is pertinent screenshot info...
How to enable screenshots with MGE, from the MGE Wiki:

When MGE is active, Morrowind's usual method of taking screenshots becomes unavailable. Fortunately, MGE offers its own screenshot feature. This guide explains how to activate it.1. Open MGEgui.exe2. Click on the Input tab.3. Click on Launch Macro Editor.4. In the Macro Editor, click on the key you want to use. Obviously this should be a key that isn't already used in the game. Also, don't choose the PrintScreen key (doing so will work, but Morrowind will display an irritating error message every time you take a screenshot).5. In the upper left drop-down menu, select "Function".6. In the lower left drop-down menu, select "Take screenshot"7. Click "Save". The key you selected should now be displayed in green.8. Close MGEgui, start Morrowind, and see if the feature works. Sreenshots will be saved with the name "MGE screenshot" (plus a number) in the Morrowind directory.

I finally managed to work through Bahamut's armour-converting tutorial without things exploding! Yay! http://i37.tinypic.com/10ygcvp.jpg@Merunnin - the bag is from this mod: http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=3950, and the necklace is from this one (it's from one of the sheathed bows, I just separated it): http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=5473. :)This is just lovely. :3

Wow that's really good conversion aeryna, the helm looks like it fits so snugly on her head  Thanks for the links, is that head and hair part of a larger replacer? or something you did for yourself? It looks quality, would be brill to have morrowind populated with such high-caliber heads. Especially love the expression she's making, I thought the player's face never moves?

Trying to get permission to release http://i37.tinypic.com/dy4nsi.jpg. Fingers crossed! :D

@Merunnin - Her head and hair are converted from, er, unshare-able sources. I'll shush about that so that I don't risk breaking forum rules, haha! And her expression changed because I made an extra equippable head for her. So it's effectively a mask, I guess! ^_^
@ Arkeyla- - Thank you!

Harborgolfer still logs on at Canadian Ice and Howndog's forums. He also made some of his heads available through 4shared. These are just links I copied from a post; I'm not sure if they all work. As Harborgolfer allows re-use of his faces, it should be OK to post these here.

Are those actual head models or just textures?

I am looking for mid to high poly head models like the ones seen in Melchior and Aeryna's screenshots.

The downloads come with both meshes and textures and the meshes appear smooth in nifscope (though i'm hardly an expert)

Thanks, me too :)

I have a question. Is that outfit on an Oblivion body model? Or is that BB. How'd you get it skinned correctly? Was it with bahamut's tutorial?

It's a wondeful outfit btw. ;)

Well, uhm, mine isn't from Morrowind. You could PM me if you like...

Hmmm, I have so much trouble getting the chest areas from OB-moddermade models to line up with the BB model. Does bahamut's tutorial get them to fit correctly? Or do they need to be edited in blender to fit?

Yay! I made my first texture replacer today :)

I was pretty sick of the way the billboard trees looked like. So after lots of reading and many errors, I finally got my first texture replacement to work in Morrowind.
The original leaves lacked depth and resolution, so I made new ones from scratch in 1024*1024.

I'm thinking of sharing it as I'm pretty happy with the results. Would anyone be interested?

Glad you like it. I have uploaded it http://www.mediafire.com/?cjpvibwxmozbbnc

I love the fact that the bigger texture results in more detailed shadows using MGE XE. Maybe I should have a look at the rest of the leave textures as well

Ahh I thought it looked familiar, I don't think it's against the rules as long as you don't actually make it available for download. lol @ the mask

Afaik, harbolgolfer did textures, then selected the most appropriate mesh, so those meshes are of the "classic" variety (rhedd, etc.) I'm having a hard time guessing which game Aeryna's head comes from, but Melchior's looks like it's from oblivion? In any case, I could turn you face into something like http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/9462/29343399.png(but more manly I'm guessing) in case you missed my previous offer.(teeth and tongue cost extra)

Well, it's intended for Vality's Bitter Coast mod.

I don't know if it also replaces the vanilla leave texture as I don't play with vanilla trees :) I wonder what that would look like
