Screenshot thread No. 126

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:12 pm

Previous thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112954-screenshot-thread-no-125/

How do I enable and take screenshots of my game? You'll need to edit your Morrowind.ini file (see brief how-to below). But first, back up the file in case you make a mistake, or if you later want to restore it to its original state.(by DragoonWraith)

Enabling Screenshots:Open Morrowind.ini (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind.ini in the default Windows installation), and you'll see a lot of code. In the eighth, largest section under [General], there is a line which saysScreen Shot Enable=0Switch that toScreen Shot Enable=1Now, in Morrowind, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (the button is sometimes hard to find, often you need to use the Shift key). You'll see a message which tells you that the screenshot has been created. It can be found in your main Morrowind folder.(Addendum by ~Ninja Monkey)To extend on the tutorial for taking screenshots above, you should change your pictures from a bitmap image to a jpeg image if you will be hosting your screenshots on the internet. To do this, open them up in Paint or any other photo editing program, go to "Save As..." and save as a jpeg file. Do NOT simply edit the file name from Screenshot#.bmp to Screenshot#.jpg. That only changes the file name, not the file type.

I think this is pertinent screenshot info...
How to enable screenshots with MGE, from the MGE Wiki:

When MGE is active, Morrowind's usual method of taking screenshots becomes unavailable. Fortunately, MGE offers its own screenshot feature. This guide explains how to activate it.1. Open MGEgui.exe2. Click on the Input tab.3. Click on Launch Macro Editor.4. In the Macro Editor, click on the key you want to use. Obviously this should be a key that isn't already used in the game. Also, don't choose the PrintScreen key (doing so will work, but Morrowind will display an irritating error message every time you take a screenshot).5. In the upper left drop-down menu, select "Function".6. In the lower left drop-down menu, select "Take screenshot"7. Click "Save". The key you selected should now be displayed in green.8. Close MGEgui, start Morrowind, and see if the feature works. Sreenshots will be saved with the name "MGE screenshot" (plus a number) in the Morrowind directory.

Wow, those screens are really nice. I wish I had that much power in my computer. What shaders are you using?

And yes, 'Ai beauty' is the same as 'feels like home'.

Nothing uber - only the must-haves. Phal's sunshaft (v003cloud) and HDRbloom plus an antiquated version of ENBSeries to provide a subtle brownish tint and increased contrast.

And yes, 'Ai beauty' is the same as 'feels like home'.

Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out. :goodjob:

The mesh is vanilla ;) The textures are a personal modification based on the http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7537 This one had a way to reddish tint for my taste so i did a version inspired by the style of the Oblivion statues additionally adding more overall detail (cracks and bumps) and completely redoing some blurrier parts in a higher resolution (e.g. the cape and the axe). Dunno if i'm allowed to release this for it's mainly lucien's/Jiub's work. If there's more interest in this i'll ask for permission.

Edit: some additional screens showing some more details of the statue. http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4241/mgescreenshot102.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/1769/mgescreenshot122.jpg

That does indeed look awesome, but are you sure a newly sculpted statue would have so many cracks and such? Not exactly a major issue, but I couldn't help but think about it.

That said, do want.

They aren't supposed to be cracks, but veins in the marble/stone :grad:

I've never seen a stone or marble statue - even ancient ones - with such pronounced veins. At the top of that; Boethia's statue is supposed to be a new statue sculpted by a master craftsman. It doesn't really bother me much, just pointing it out.

I did, even more pronounced than this. :)

That being said, it's a replacer that uses marble which is unrealistic by itself taking into account that there is no marble or a workshop for treating it on Vvanderfell :P So who cares, it looks awesome!

Canton of Vivec fogging into a purple sky. Looks magical and brings nostalgia to me, I think I should boot up a few mods and start playing again :P
