Screenshot thread No. 127

Previous thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1140557-screenshot-thread-no-126/

How do I enable and take screenshots of my game? You'll need to edit your Morrowind.ini file (see brief how-to below). But first, back up the file in case you make a mistake, or if you later want to restore it to its original state.(by DragoonWraith)

Enabling Screenshots:Open Morrowind.ini (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind.ini in the default Windows installation), and you'll see a lot of code. In the eighth, largest section under [General], there is a line which saysScreen Shot Enable=0Switch that toScreen Shot Enable=1Now, in Morrowind, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (the button is sometimes hard to find, often you need to use the Shift key). You'll see a message which tells you that the screenshot has been created. It can be found in your main Morrowind folder.(Addendum by ~Ninja Monkey)To extend on the tutorial for taking screenshots above, you should change your pictures from a bitmap image to a jpeg image if you will be hosting your screenshots on the internet. To do this, open them up in Paint or any other photo editing program, go to "Save As..." and save as a jpeg file. Do NOT simply edit the file name from Screenshot#.bmp to Screenshot#.jpg. That only changes the file name, not the file type.

I think this is pertinent screenshot info...
How to enable screenshots with MGE, from the MGE Wiki:

When MGE is active, Morrowind's usual method of taking screenshots becomes unavailable. Fortunately, MGE offers its own screenshot feature. This guide explains how to activate it.1. Open MGEgui.exe2. Click on the Input tab.3. Click on Launch Macro Editor.4. In the Macro Editor, click on the key you want to use. Obviously this should be a key that isn't already used in the game. Also, don't choose the PrintScreen key (doing so will work, but Morrowind will display an irritating error message every time you take a screenshot).5. In the upper left drop-down menu, select "Function".6. In the lower left drop-down menu, select "Take screenshot"7. Click "Save". The key you selected should now be displayed in green.8. Close MGEgui, start Morrowind, and see if the feature works. Sreenshots will be saved with the name "MGE screenshot" (plus a number) in the Morrowind directory.

I've reinstalled a new, fresh install of Morrowind on my hard disk some days ago, and just begun to modify Seyda Neen and the textures of the buildings...
While testing MGE XE 0.8.9... : )

Interesting outcome with the buildings, it creates a very pleasant feel for the town. But now to business. First picture, bottom-middle-right, those posters, what are they from? And who is that dapper man printed on them? My curiosity is piqued!

Oh thanks for your comment! : )
About the textures, they came from many sources, most of them from the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18498 mod for Oblivion, and some others from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call Of Pripyat and Fallout 3, then sharpened with Photoshop (enlarged the resolution for most of them, in 2048x2048, added more details, a subtle noise effect, and more contrast), unfortunately, as I used resources from others games, I can't share these textures.

Ah, about the man appearing on a poster (and also the others posters in this screenshot) in the first picture, it came from http://www.moddb.com/mods/nehrim-at-fates-edge, a Total Conversion for Oblivion. ; )

I found an interesting way to add some details which add more 'personality' to the buildings, making each of them uniques by their appearances, by using decals textures. Anyway, it seem this technique isn't compatible with the shadows introduced by MGE XE and appear http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8156/morrowind110127821bymag.jpg in game... :/

These answers are so captivating and thought provoking to me right now since I just started editing game models and textures as a way to improve my modding flexibility. But at the same time my heart is breaking a little from them being so unreachable. Your answer is very bittersweet, but thank you.

View distance is at max in the unmodded screens, and the screens are taken in the same spot ofcourse.
