ah now i understand. i wasn't talking about it's quality but my scare when i opened the pic... ("what the...!") and my poor try to reassure myself ("it's just a flea").

of course this reaction can only occur, when the pic has the appropriate quality.

@skinjack: my post wasn't there to be un-nice about it at all. it just reports my dismay, that's all, and has nothing to do with work, except that it is so realistic.

sorry.

I didn't take offense. Everyone has different tastes and, in your case, phobias. Personally, snakes give me the creeps. The creator of the model was kind enough to let me use it, so I thought I would gauge the interest in a silt strider replacer that, while similar in form, gets rid of those ridiculous spike legs. The only thing those are good for is sinking in the ground. Don't even get me started on their positioning. A strong breeze could knock the original silt strider over. It would probably look like felling a tree.

Good point, this is true.
But that newer version looks unsteady at best. I'm trying to visualize the realistic animation, and it doesn't seem like you could comfortably drink your coffee on one of those.

True. It would look like one of those two legged walkers from Star Wars. I'm trying to convince some slacker I know to stick the Guar animation on it to see how it would look. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Silt Strider replacer. Scaled down it would make an interesting alternative to a pack guar/mount.

I believe they do. But I'm to dumb to figure out yet. How do you add these? "add bump map" or "add detail map" (in nifskope)?
PN please,

erm. i did not adjust or change it at all. i just wanted to say, that plangkyes mesh fits the whole ensemble even though it is not glowmapped. if someone would glowmap it i would be glad as well but i use it anyway.
