Screenshots (no mods)

Post » Wed Apr 06, 2011 8:51 pm

But use a modded shot if you like ..... and could say it's modded.

Below are screenshots without any mods that you would see happen in the standard game.
I found it to be a bit tricky to get up on the roofs because of the overhang, but can be done, and some of the other jumps.

Fun at Fairfax Buildings.

Lots of choices of where to go...

Tech details.
*Editted out the not needed*.
Screenshots are about 1.5 meg bmp size, which I converted into jpegs of 100k size in Irfanview (free image program), then uploaded to Photobucket (a free image storage site .. one of many). Irfanview has many other options as well such as lighten/darken, sharpen or whatever. Simply dragged the bmp into Irfanview and did a straight conversion to a jpeg.

I don't get it. Fallout 3 has screenshot capabilities built-in with the Print Screen key. What did you do with this Hypersnap program?

Didn't realise it already had, ah well, next time. Hypersnap just does the same thing.

I have a few screenshots, but what [exactly] do you mean when you mention 'No mods' but 'different gameplay' ?
(wouldn't everyone's gameplay be the same with no mods?)

I just meant any interesting shots that anybody could get in the standard game without any of the hundreds of mods and bodies available. Many have said of something being a bit different, weird, or unusual in the game, just thought it would be interesting to see a pic of them and know you could see it in your own game without having to get a mod.

But whatever takes your fancy. Could just say it's modded, whatever.

Could be a good thread.

It turns out that I don't have the screen caps I thought I did. :( (I'm on a different PC than last year, and my captures didn't make the journey to the new disk). I just recently began a new game, so If I see one, I'll snap it and post it if I think its good/ or interesting. :foodndrink:

Wow, I wasn't expecting a shot with movement as well.

And Lycia, I'm looking forward to doing point lookout and the others.

Those roofs above were not that easy to get to, for me anyway, because of the brick overhang. An angled final jump up and forward was needed. Quicksave/quickload is handy untill got right. Fun seeing just where it was possible to get to.

I started here at Fairfax buildings

Do you have a really low graphic setting on that? Because it looks really low vs. when playing on my xbox360, also could these same glitches be done in the 360 version or is it just a pc version glitch?

It was a fairly low graphics setting, and I should have maxed the settings and AA before taking the shots .

It's not a glitch, judging from my blood splashed on the roof tiles after being targeted and hit by about everything, when I wasn't more careful.
And it should be the same with consoles.

Basically go up the sloped wall bit and jump onto the roof.

Jump into the window ledge
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot76.jpg

and up into the wall sloping base
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot77.jpg

walk up the sloped bit as far as you can
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot78.jpg

now just a touch sidestep (6 inches if you can, makes it a lot easier to have a clear jump)
and just a tiny bit step back for the forward jump up ... and this should be your view ... quicksave
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot79.jpg

and forward jump up ... walk up the other broken brickwork (left in pic)
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot82.jpg

along and around the low wall and jump up onto the sloping roof (right pic)
and you can jump over to other roofs like where I am standing
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/sitruc2006/Fallout/ScreenShot75.jpg

Sounds complex, but it's really quite easy in the end.

There is something similar at Greyditch, and must be a number of similar places as well. I only started looking recently.

Holstering your weapon is better when making a running jump.

Have fun.

LOL, well I'm use to that to be called a glitch in a sense..if this was a online game people call it a glitch. A glitch sometimes is called that because its a thing in a game, your tactically not suppose to reach but not impossible.

I'll have to try it out.

Yeah, I like those kind of shots ... photographic.
...I've liked them all, some great shots there ... a bit different or a different angle on play .. interesting.

Sniping ... got up there in the end.. a bit of climbing up the rubble and onto the ledge.

I've got randoms of the character I just used to run through the entire game and all DLC again, just to play MZ for the first time. Called him Carter, during creation I figured he'd be a Brian Blessed type dude, big black beard, booming voice and the like. I'm yet to install Photoshop, Flash, and my usual drawing programs on this system, so when I found these screenies to be dark (took them all at night) I used Windows Live Gallery to edit, but failed, and so cropped 'em, and then auto adjusted, it did some funky things all on its own... heh. Give it try, I think it's trying to be artsy. Just crop any of your screenies and auto adjust...

Anyway, in no real order, but all of Carter and Jericho in L'Enfant Plaza in their scavving gear.
