Screwed by autosave

Post » Fri Jul 18, 2014 4:44 pm

I was filming a LP in Fallout New Vegas and I attacked someone. They ran into the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside and then everyone in the Fort attacked me. My autosave keeps loading me after the people in the Fort became hostile and they keep killing me, no matter what I try to do. My most recent manual save is about 2 behind my autosave. Besides putting in the console command for godmode and killing them all, can I do something to stop it? Has anyone else been totally screwed by autosave?

Always make manual saves.. You can try going godmode then just running away, waiting 48 hour then coming back.

yeah, it's happened to me, and usually the only solution that works is loading a previous save. there are commands to stop combat, but they are undependable, and with multiple opponents you usually have to get them all before combat is re-initiated while you try to stop the next one or the next one, and so on.

In the future, be very careful who you attack in Freeside. One slip and the whole area will turn hostile against you.
