Screwed up "Secret of Cabot House"

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 3:29 pm

I got to the end of The Secret of Cabot House...and it's telling me I need to kill Lorenzo, in the Cabot home, but he has a skull by his name and not even a Mini Nuke puts a dent in his health. So, I ran out of the home and don't plan on returning until I can successfully kill him. My character is level 35 and has been using Power Armor. When will it be safe to return? And I can't load an older save file to try to change the outcome of that quest since it's now quite a bit of time ago and would undo the other things I've done since then. :/

Why would you even want to kill and not save him? Lorenzo's gifts are far more worthy than what his wretched family could ever come up with.

Level up some more, grab some modified heavy duty weaponry, max out power armor stats, invite a companion to come along and then head back and kill him.

Because entering into a Faustian bargain with a man possessed by an unknown eldritch abomination from another plane of existance might not be the wisest of decisions.

I think the Zeta gun (should be upstairs in the cabot lab table) is effective against Lorenzo... if not then I'd get an sniper rifle or kellog's 44. (since it's affect refills your crit meter) and crit shoot the guy a couple of times in the head, that killed him for me

personally I would just reload since I'm guessing the other cabots are dead? if so then you can't get the unique weapon for siding with jack.

Forever regretting picking Jack's useless artifact gun that now sits in my box of 'thanks for nothing' items...

Eh, I dunno... 'His Eternal Magnificence, Director of the Institute' sounds nice.

I'd just hand over the serum to the top Bioscience boys and tell them to get cracking on replicating it. :P

Personally, I'm not too much in favor of being basically enslaved to the whims of Lorenzo. Sure he gives you the serum for free now. But what happens when you start to desperately need it to continue to prolong your life? That's when he gets you. :ahhh:

I wasn't sure whose side to go on, but one thing's for sure, I don't have a good save file to reload, especially since it's quite a ways back now. Tried the option of killing the family...but Nick Valentine promptly left my side, so that wasn't fun. I honestly don't think I care much for either side of that family squabble - everyone has their own issues and I feel there is no right decision. It just svcks that either I am a killer of "innocents" if I kill the family (that's the main reason some companions will just leave) or I am killing a man made insane by an artifact who is very difficult to kill in the first place.

I killed Lorenzo for his clothes. As soon as i saw him i thought I'm having that suit.

I love the style of his suit and wear it all the time.

It also takes the ballistic weave upgrade.

You could steal the clothes from him anytime.

Lorenzo has a lot of health, you should have just killed him while in in the chamber. I bring Danse with me, and he never turned on me. He never turned on me whenever I kill innocent, that's why I love my tin-can. I like Cait as well since she likes killing innocent people, maybe X6. I always like side with Lorenzo. The family goes down pretty quick, and you can even save the cool ghoul dude by convincing him to turn on the family.

I ended up killing Lorenzo for mostly RP reasons. Jordyn (my F!SS) thought both of them were crazy, but decided to side with nut job that was not locked up in a cage with a wierd thing on his head. Plus, Caity-poo liked it.

My character is not a thief.

They didn't have an option to threaten him for his suit so i fought him for it, fair and square, face to face.

try to get him 'glitch stuck' behind that board (chalkboard maybe?), to the left of the door of his cell...I did and I killed him with a 10mm pistol and a baseball bat..(took forever)..

I sided with Jack. Sure, the Artifact Gun is a joke, but Jack reminds me of Dr. Venture.
